  1. I don't see the confusion, those of us that have a car on PCH knew fine well we had no claim to the vehicle at all, therefore we wouldn't appear on the V5 as it is not our car!! I would argue that even on PCP your still not the keeper as you could just hand it back after the term ends(The same as long term hire) so technically unitl you either re-finance the balloon payment or pay outright you don't own the car??
  2. Nice, only down the road from me then in Frizington! I take it yours is financed and not PCH?
  3. Awesome cheers BATVANVRS, the only thing that will keep me sane after trawling round a busy capital city with the brood in tow is BEER!!!
  4. Alex, did you order from one of the dealers in Cumbria or is it being delivered to you from elsewhere?
  5. VWFS will be the registered keeper and you will never see the log book, unless you end up buying it at the end using someone you know to put their name to it of course! My insurer (Admiral) were not bothered either way.
  6. I've no doubt there will be someone close by and you can check the members map as to who has it near you and drop them a PM. As to the visit, I believe the middle bit! Mostly the touristy bits IWM, tower of London, the queens main gaff that sort of stuff!
  7. If only I could bring my laptop with me! I'm heading down to London town on Saturday for a few days, sorry mate but I'm sure there is someone very near you to help out and great choice hope your pleased with it??!!
  8. I certainly hope so mate, I'm hearing really good things about the DTUK guys, well apart from dodgy statements anyway!
  9. The box itself is online @ £339 a fifty quid saving on the RRP but our discount is £80 off so £309 then 6.95 postage which is a cracking deal, was just a bit taken aback when I was told I probably couldn't use it! Should be here tomorrow
  10. Couldn't agree more with the final comments here, they simply got overwhelmed with the popularity of this deal/offer. When I collected the car, all I saw was row after row of Octavia vRS's and I did think how the hell do they keep up with all these orders. When I spoke to Denis about mine being ready he said we were in the hands of VWFS which said to me, blimey they must be snowed under trying to process all the orders and authorising release of my car took around 4 days when car finance can take as little as 1/2 hour to put through!. My issue is the advance rental, they have already taken the first monthly payment so I'm keeping to that element of the contract but I have explicitly told VWFS that until Simpson's cough up they ain't getting any advance rental and they were great on the phone and totally understood my situation.
  11. DTUK tuning box ordered today, it better be good seen as how I wanted to use the legitimate discount offered to us Briskodians only to be nearly had by some sales person saying we don't usually offer it on the CRD2+ and pushing me towards the CRD-T then offering to honour it anyway! Looking forward to 230BHP :-)
  12. Hi BATVANVRS and welcome to the forum! With regard to your questions the DSG box is a great bit of kit although I have a manual in my mk3, I've driven them with paddles and they are good. Fault wise your looking for abrupt changes in both directions, delayed up changes things like that. It should be pretty much seamless and smooth on the changes but apart from that I'm sure someone else will be along soon to assist further. I'm not aware of any pedal test that shows faults but there are many members on here with VCDS, and for a few beer tokens will scan it and show a detailed log of any faults stored. Again as mine is only 1 1/2 months old I haven't come across any faults yet however I am aware of cabin noise being an issue on the mk3 but as I say mine does not do it, could be down to what tyres are fitted but that is not conclusive. Hope this helps in your search for a mk3 vRS
  13. Meanwhile, looking at the Skoda Finance login you can request a quote to sell the car "to someone else" at the end of the lease. Has anyone else done this? You only need to type in your reg to get a quote but our car is too new to do this just yet? A lot of the T5 guys do just this and its great value apparently. I read that in the info documents I got from VWFS and thought really, can this be done ie ask them to sell it to my missus as let's face it it would be my money anyway paying for it, does this actually happen?? Hopefully someone out there can elaborate on this
  14. AdyPem, I'm surprised that Denis has also gone but now that answers my questions surrounding him not replying to emails! I have simply told VWFS that I'm not bothered what happens as I'm not the one in the wrong and I'm not paying the difference in the deposit and if push comes to shove the terms I signed up to are not met so they will have a right old ding dong with Simpsons, not me! When I collected mine, bar the initial 250 I paid nothing so basically I paid £250 to drive away in a brand spanking mk3 vrs and I was told within 10 days VWFS would collect the advance rental, oh well good luck to them!
  15. Same here, so far I and the wife have phoned Simpsons 5 times and several emails and I have phoned VWFS 3 times to report the fact my subsidised element of the deposit has not been paid to me yet, VWFS have had to remove an adverse credit mark from my account because of this carry on!. What's annoying is from ordering to collecting the car they were great, no issue to contact them and on delivery Denis was great showing me round the car and even put £25 in the tank to get me home. My case is in the hands of VWFS as I have said it's not my job to chase a main dealer for money as my part of the deposit has been sat there since March.
  16. I remember doing these albeit in a Citroen dealer so same engine, the good old 1,000 mile check however the oil was never changed, just topped up if required. No sooner had they left as brand new cars and then they were back again for checks that the owner should do regularly anyway!
  17. Damn! Not to worry, cheers for the answer
  18. Does the Amundsen have a hard drive to save music to?
  19. Wait until its dark and leave switch in auto and fire the car up and watch your headlights self level, it's funny as it nearly goes cross-eyed!
  20. Really enjoying mine too albeit after 3 weeks of ownership and 750 miles on the clock! I use individual mode now as the constant stiffer steering made my arms ache after a while, I only have a small amount of straight roads near me so constantly turning :-) and with this mode I still have the "geek" button illuminated with the bright yellow vRS logo due to engine set to sport and adaptive lighting the same :-) +1 on the air con, it can be increased to strong and you should notice the difference. I would suggest mcscoobs that you just have a play with things which I'm sure you will and you will continue to learn about your car and find stuff that you maybe never knew it had or didn't quite understand what it does etc, enjoy!
  21. Still the female voice sounds quite filthy if I'm honest.................
  22. Seriously cheesed off with Yodel couriers, the wife's birthday presents are in my non-existent outbuilding apparently!! Bunch of idoits #Angry

  23. What does that leave at the end Tim, if ya don't mind me asking?
  24. The nav SD cards are sent separately, Simpsons told me that they have a habit of going missing when just left with the car on it's way from the factory to dealer!
