  1. That's just not fair, deffo a bargain buy mate sounded like a good motor! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. As you will know anyway each engine is different, in reality no-one else's experiences matter! If your car has used a litre I assume whilst being run in then I wouldn't worry it happens. When I worked as a tech in a Citroen franchise, my god some engines used loads but Citroen requested the owner bring it back after 1,000 miles for a free check, probably so they didn't see how much had disappeared!!
  3. That's what the guys @DTUK told me even though my box is the CRD-2, I might have to give 1+1 another try and see.................
  4. The last comms I had with Andrew said it shouldn't be run at 3+3, is it a noticeable difference from 3+1 mate?? Mines a CRD-2 so probably different considering the boost is hooked up to it! I'm currently running 3+1 but between all the maps I haven't noticed a great deal difference, well map 2 was a bit bland maybe but nothing startling
  5. Likewise, mine came with 1ltr in the boot. Have topped up by around 1/2 ltr at approx. 650 miles, since then not used a drop now 1800 miles in
  6. I thought a quick VCDS scan shows the current content of refrigerant in the system, maybe easier than pulling the gas out just yet and it will show functionality of the rest of the A/C system to show a compressor fault etc??
  7. Cheers for the replies and it was just a thought after seeing some vids on youtube surrounding different exhaust notes. I personally don't mind the engine one on my Tdi as a diesel engine isn't the best sounding after all but I can see why some cannot stand it, each to their own I say..............
  8. Just checked, they need to weigh 22KG and over to use boosters Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. No worries! The booster idea may still be an option but if my 5 year old is anything to go by, the issues start if they nod off and they end slouched in the seat so we still have her in a proper seat for now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I hope this hasn't been done to death so apologise if this is another thread on it! My question is does the MK3 Octy vRS Tdi have this function standard or is it available at all?? I only ask because we all know it has the fake engine sound within the different driving modes but I have seen videos on the tube about the exhaust note/sound, just wondering if it is fitted, does it sound any different?
  11. If you mean the "Big" car seats with side and head protection then it maybe a squeeze. I only have one proper car seat in the back of mine and a booster and my eldest who's 11 always lets me know how little room she has in the middle!! The rear seats don't help by being curved and shaped at the edges, but give it a go mate and see how you fair :-) Maybe boosters could be an option if they are old/tall enough?? And at least you should have isofix so no messing about looping seatbelts through the smallest gaps imaginable!!
  12. As I posted earlier in the thread, anyone can buy it so long as it's not the hirer. What sort of "discount" would you say you got on the previous ones you have bought Vegit8?
  13. Just a thought, but are you sure it wasn't the stop-start that caused the engine to "Stall"? If you were not at a complete stop then unlikely it was
  14. Sounds like the clutch biting low down will also be what's causing reverse gear to be difficult to engage, where does the clutch pedal rest in relation to the brake pedal?
  15. As above chaps, I have checked this on Skoda finance and they can't sell the car to the hirer/lender as it incurs VAT penalties or so I believe, the missus is looking into the finer points on this but they can sell it to a "third party" so anyone other than the above, I'm deffo going to get a quote as it may well be a good prie but for now I'm going to enjoy just under 2 years motoring in it :-)
  16. As far as I'm aware the GMFV is what will be enough to clear the debt on the PCP deal, it's not your next deposit on a new deal. From the above posts if your GMFV is 10K and your balloon payment is say between 8-9K then you only have 1-2K to put down on a new deal the remainder has to settle the PCP deal ie the car goes back to them either way even if you part ex, you won't get 9K off a new car. Quite shocking really considering
  17. Hi Rob, I only found out when I got my Skoda Finance login and it said "request valuation" so I too was under that impression. They can't sell it directly to me, I think it's something to do with VAT purposes but not 100% and not really bothered but they can sell it to someone other than the lease holder so I might see what they throw out there, I can get a quote 90 days before the lease end.
  18. I take it you didn't get a quotation for buying the car off VWFS? I'd be interested to see what sort of prices they are looking for at 2 years in as I may opt to buy mine, of course by getting the missus or my dad to "technically" buy it from them!
  19. I take from the mention of rocker switches on stalks that you don't have steering wheel controls? This maybe possible to activate as there maybe an option that can be used to change what the display shows although I have never tried it.
  20. And on a slightly different make and model, our mk3 Galaxy flamin' conked out still showing 24 miles range not amused! The light on mk3 vrs usually pops on at between 60-65 miles range which is needle just and so touching the red, it must be simply doing that so you can NEVER say "I didn't know it was going to run out".
  21. Fair enough, it was probably just me getting confused between the two, makes sense that the Police would need to serve a NIP on the hirer/lender of the vehicle to find out the driver at the time of the offence. Cheers for that
  22. If you have been caught mate VWFS just pay the fine and invoice you direct then the points follow suit! It's a bit crap as no real chance of contesting it without a load of grief
  23. That's not bad EoinM, from order to delivery especially over to your gaff!
  24. Personal contract hire, basically a long term lease then you give it back but they can be bought after the agreement ends but it has to be someone other than the hirer to do that.
