  1. I had this problem 2 months after buying my car. Was an air leak from the drivers door side. The skoda rectified it promptly and noise promptly recurred within a week. They did a better job second time around and its been 6 months now without any issues..
  2. There is a way you could get navigation in your bolero... Saw this on ebay.. http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_1165wt_1037 My friend installed it on his superb and it works quite well. Works on the windows 6.0 platform. It it alarmingly expensive though. He spent close to 40k on it. Long press of the media button to get to the navigation screen.
  3. Hey there.. This kit specifies that you would be able to preserve your aux function... http://www.carsystem...342e,id299.html Nice t-bhp thread!!
  4. Anyone with an octy saloon (non-vrs) looking to sell their standard oem springs?
  5. Anyone with an octy saloon (non-vrs) looking to sell their standard oem springs?
  6. Thats great! I have an elegance with fogs and the drl bulbs and ive been desperately looking for some inspiration to go ahead with this mod. But isnt the wiring completely for the led drls? I also heard something about some BCM compatibility issues? You also lose the eyebrow parking lights once you have led drls right?
  7. If any one could share the part number of the EU spec non vrs octavia 2 f/l damper that would be really useful. If its the same as the one we use in India then just fitting the EU octavia hatch springs should bring down my height to 145mm from 165mm.
  8. If anyone could share the part number of standard octavia springs (non-vrs) that would be really helpful. Also, if anyone upgrading to eibachs is willing to sell their old springs then please let me know!!!!
  9. That sounds like a good idea. Could anyone share the part number of the UK non vrs octavia springs? If anyone is upgrading to eibachs and are willing to sell their old springs do let me know!!
  10. Being in India, i have to deal with the octavias sitting at 165mm!! If i were to go for the eibach pro kit would the height drop from my current height of 165mm or is a fixed drop of 20mm from 145mm (as in the EU octavias). Excuse me if this is a stupid question but in India the roads are pathetic and theres no way we can have our cars sitting at 125mm!! This pic will give you an Idea of how our cars have been lifted to deal with the bad roads and the consequent ugliness we have to live with!!
  11. Nice thread. Im looking at the eibach pro-kit for my 2011 octavia 2.0 TDI (non-vrs). Here in India the octavias sit at a ghastly 165mm unlike the UK ones which sit at 145mm. It was done to handle our pathetic indian roads. But the resulting gap in the wheel arches is big enough to stuff a golf kit in!! I just want to bring it down by about 20mm without compromising on the ride too much ( i have no complaints with the handling of the car as it is right now). Would appreciate your inputs.. Eibach pro-kit the way to go? Is there anything else that i can do to just decrease the gap in the wheel arches without affecting the ride too much? Attaching a pic of the ugliness that i have to deal with
  12. Seems almost impossible. Wiring looks very complicated and the fact that i dont have the airbag in my seat adds to the complexity! Looks like i have to make do with them manual ones!!
  13. I probably shouldn't be posting in this thread when i dont have any constructive piece of advice or info that might help you!! But im hoping you've got your problem sorted out. I have a skoda laura elegance and im trying to retrofit the electric drivers seat with memory function. I managed to find a seat from a l&k in good condition. Could you please share some info regarding the wiring for 1) powering the electric seats and 2) for the memory functions? Thanks If you still have the wiring diagram it would be great if you could share it with me!!
  14. Thanks, I'm trying to get the wiring diagram to see exactly where the wires go.Getting it powered wouldn't be a major issue. Connection to the CAN is the tricky part which probably enables the memory function to work. Great. Relieved to know that a good pre-fl seat can be retrofitted on mine. Still unsure of where the wires need to go exactly. Would be great if anyone could shed some light on the exact connections that needs to be made for 1) powering the electric seats and 2) for the seat memory function.
  15. Hello!! I have 6 month old Octavia 2.0L 140 CR elegance (f/l). It comes with non electric driver and passenger seats with heating. Someone just mentioned that they could get me a used pre-fl octavia electric drivers seat with the memory buttons. Could i fit this in my car? Has anyone ever tried it? Can a pre-fl octy drivers electric seat with memory buttons be retrofitted on a 2011 facelifted one? A skoda mechanic here says it is possible and that he has the necessary wiring to make it work. But he made it sound too simple and i started to doubt if he knew what he was talking about. Any sort of help would be appreciated!!
  16. Are superbs more tolerant to drl bulb changes than the 2011 octys? Because all my friends who have tried these LED bulbs have got errors showing up. I just want my drl's throwing white light and not the amber coloured one. The OE bulbs are specified as PY21WSLL (with 'y' standing for yellow). Are there P21W bulbs which wont interfere with the canbus? Or are anticanbus leds the only way to go? Im really not keen on using load resistors.
  17. Tried those on my 2011 octy . I keep getting the error popping up in the instrument cluster. Should i try my luck with these? http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/3821156ba15s-anti-canbus-white-bulbs-p-2346.html
  18. Not as yet. He's gone abroad for a few months. Will update as soon as i hear from him.
  19. Latest update: So my friend who has a 3 month old octavia 140cr dsg with this problem was asked to bring in his car to replace the mechatronic.
  20. I've had the same issue with my 2011 octavia 140cr dsg. Just like rockhopper i faced the issue only in the tiptronic mode. It has happened twice over the last 3 months and both on sudden deceleration when the car shifted down from 6th to 5th (but instead of actually shifting down to 5th it slipped to neutral while the display continued to show the 5th.) Continue decelerating and the 4th gear gets engaged and things are back to normal. And i too have changed to a 3 spoke mfsw with paddles. Got another friend who had this problem (he hasn't changed the steering or retrofitted anything). His was more frequent and could easily be replicated on driving in tiptronic for around 15mins. He's got his checked by the skoda chaps and they seem to have agreed that this IS a problem and they're trying to find a solution for it. Will keep you all posted on what happens. I think skoda should acknowledge that there is a glitch in their DSGs of the 2011 models.
  21. Weird coincidence because i too retrofitted a 3 spoke mfsw replacing my 4 spoke non mfsw. I've driven my car for three months and it has happened only twice! I've even been driving on manual mode for long periods over the last few days but couldn't replicate the problem. But you're right, with the paddles there's hardly any need to go the manual mode. Whats interesting is that i have another friend who also has the same problem with his 3 month old octavia cr140 dsg. He still has his 4 spoke non mfsw and hasn't retrofitted anything. His problem occurs more frequently and could easily be replicated on driving for 15mins. The skoda guys here have run all kinds of tests but couldn't find anything. Some engineers are actually flying down to try and figure out the problem and if they're not able to he's been assured that his gearbox would be replaced. I'm waiting to see what happens in his case so that i can push for the samething if and when the issue starts cropping up repeatedly.
  22. Rockhopper, so what happened to the problem? Could you get it fixed or were they at least able to diagnose what the problem was? I have a 3 month old octavia 140cr dsg and the samething happened to me a couple of times.
  23. How about this bad boy i found on ebay? Would this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELIMINATORE-ERRORE-BA15S-P21W-WARNING-CANCELLER-CANBUS-/180637121259?pt=Componenti_elettronici_passivi&hash=item2a0ecfbaeb#ht_2366wt_1037
