Never driven the diesel but I can highly recommend the 1.2 TSI (105)in the Monte. It revs very sweetly and is surprisingly torquey low down. Little if any noticeable Turbo lag. I agree that if you're into higher milages the diesel would be the one to go for. Our Monte is averaging around 43mpg and that's primarily short runs, so not that bad. The Monte looks great too and gets plenty of admiring comments when out and about. Diesel or petrol I'm sure you'll love it.

Just using bogo Tesco 95 in our Monte 1.2 (105) Not had any fuelling issues and averaging around 42/43. Most of its life is spent pootling around doing journeys of around 10 miles but managed 50+ mpg on a recent long run. Can't see any advantage to using 99 octane in a vehicle such as this.

We have a red Monte but not noticed any pitting or flaking as yet. I will keep an eye on it now though.

Not sure what car you had before this but up until 3 years ago I had generally driven large Japanese hatchbacks. Bought my first German car, a VW Passat, and immediately began to notice the increased firmness of the seats and ride. Took a while to get used to but now bought a little Monte for the wife and find this even firmer. I think you'll get used to it but try playing about with the squab height a little.

Wife has wiped out my Monte alloy :-(
BigV replied to bigantg's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
My wife kerbed the front offside alloy on her Monte in the first week of ownership, I've been quoted £72 inc vat for repair and colour match. For time being I've touched it up myself using Hamerite metal flake which seems like a good match but just depends how bad your damage is. -
My son has same engine in his Ibiza. Got to agree it has a lovely throaty sound to it and revs very freely. My wifes 1.2 (105) 4 cylinder Monte, although quicker, Sounds nowhere near as good.

Like the Monte in Grey. It was our second choice after the red because I already own a grey car. Ours gets plenty of admiring looks and comments but so far only seen one other Monte in our area.

Very Nice -
Have a Monte with the black alloys. We'd only had it a week and my wife kerbed the front offside wheel. I was quoted £72 for a proper repair including colour match. I think I could get it cheaper by shopping around but for time being I've touched it up with black enamel paint. It won't do any lasting harm and I'll get it done properly eventually, in the meantime I'll make sure we get used to having the bigger alloys with skinny tyres. Wouldn't want to repair it only to kerb it again soon after.

Fabia vRS-great car,quality control questionable..
BigV replied to bradley.mcmullan's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Had the little Monte for 3 weeks now and so far very impressed. No squeaks or rattles. May be early days I suppose. My 3 year old Passat on the other hand has creaked and rattled since I bought it 6 months old. VW have been unable to locate the problem. Really spoils what is otherwise a top quality car. -
Ha. Clearly not driven on British roads then. Another red owher.

Another nice little Monte. Havn't seen one in Anthracite Grey yet. -
Nice to know you're enjoying the car. How have the Skoda dealers been in respect to the faults?
-
I'd be even happier if I could drive the bloody thing. Frustrated or what?

Stock cars for 0% and no vat offer
BigV replied to sko-with-go's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
There are cars out there in dealers across the country and others around that have not been assigned to a specific trader. The former are not obliged to release them to other dealers but can sometimes be persuaded in exchange for other vehicles. This is what happened to us in order to obtain our red Monte. Time is running out, dealers are hanging onto the popular variants knowing they can be sold easilly. -
Corrida red vrs night time wash and pics
BigV replied to pee81's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Nice work. -
Yeah to be honest it was more of a looks issue. Saw 2 cars side by side and the Climatronic just looked better. Never mind, Air Con works just fine. I also had the Paint Guard finish applied to it. Having just cleaned the car it appears to bead the water really well and is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. Anybody any experience after a year or so of washing?

Hello everyone. New to Skoda ownership but just purchsaed the little Fabia Monte in red for ahem! my wife. Had to jump through a number of hoops to get it under the VAT free scheme as not many left out there in stock. Finally managed to persuade a dealer in Kent to part with theirs in exchange for a vehicle held by my own dealer. Couldn't get the Climate control unfortunately but it did come with rear sensors and sunroof. We had the side strips fitted as extra and I think they set off the looks perfectly. Seen a few in red on here but 1 or 2 pics for you any way

Morning all. Martin from Hampshire here. Never owned a Skoda before but recently purchased a brand new Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2TSI (105) in Corrida Red. Car was bought primarilly as a second car for my beloved but that doesn't stop me having some fun in it as well. Loving the way its screwed together, getting plenty of admiring glances and comments so very pleased so far. Will post a few pics in the appropriate section when ready.
