  1. I think I have some issues with mine too although not the same as above. It seems to me as though my lights are pointing more to the left than straight ahead, and I noticed last night that when I hit a particularly bad bump in the road, my headlight beam shakes, suggesting that it's not secure in its housing.
  2. Not strictly true. You can get done, but it depends on the copper. If you are driving badly because you are concentrating on your coffee, then you will get done for driving without due care and attention. If you are driving fine, then you will probably be ok. The reason being, driving without due care and attention can apply to many things such as turning a radio station over, smoking a cigarette, distracted by other people in the car and so on. If the police policed it all to within an inch of the law, they would never have time for anything else.
  3. Slightly off tangent, but do you guys leave your dashcams in place when the car is locked or overnight or do you take them off/out of the car? im still in the paranoid stage at the moment and worry about someone breaking into the car for it so I take it out.
  4. When you say you wash the car frequently, do you wash it yourself or do you use one of those American automatic car washes that take the car slowly through the machine? I ask because on the few occasions I have used one of those ARC carwashes it has left a yellowing stain on the leading edge of my doors which was very hard to get rid of.
  5. I don't know, but I would be very surprised if it is air. That's normally fitted to cars a few segments up.
  6. Were you in an area with street lighting? I don't know how it works on the Superb because I don't have it but on my Merc, the high beam won't activate in an area with street lighting.
  7. Ha, it's a good job I'm way too short to need that sitting position then.
  8. Cheers for the replies so far guys. Good to know that there are more POI's and that I can also add more with an SD card.
  9. Picked up the new car yesterday (SEL Exec 150 DSG) and while I love the way it looks I have to say I'm struggling a bit to bond with ita at the moment. I didn't get that warm feeling inside that you should get on driving away from the dealership in it. Probably wasn't helped by the crap handover I experienced. Fuel gauge showing 10 miles worth of fuel in the tank, and the salesman steadfastly refusing to throw in a set of mats. I'm coming from an E Class SE which was like riding on a cushion of air, and I'm just not feeling the same quality of ride in the Superb. I have no doubt that the inch bigger wheels and the lower profile tyres will play a small part, but it just seems a bit more crashy over bumps. Perhaps I'm expecting too much?? There are a lot of little features I like, like the personalisation thing with the keys (still need to work out how to do it though, the salesman didn't have a clue either) which will be handy because the wife and I sit in completely different driving positions. Plus I like Apple CarPlay, that seems pretty cool. One other thing that disappoints me though is the lack of POI's on the sat nav. I think they have missed a trick by only adding petrol stations, restaurants and car parks. Is there any way to add more? The DSG 'box is lovely though, I much prefer it to the one in the Merc, although like the Merc 'box it sometimes holds onto a gear to long without changing up. One thing I'm certainly looking forward to though is vastly improved fuel economy. I was only averaging about 32-34mpg around town in the Merc, but I'm expecting much better out of the Superb. Ill start using it properly from Tuesday on so hopefully with the more miles I put under the wheels the more I will bond with it. Ivor.
  10. Did you source these from the main dealer or elsewhere? cheers.
  11. Sorry to start a new thread guys, but posted in an older one and had no replies and I pick my new car up tomorrow. So to my question, does anyone know if the mats out of a series II will fit (properly) into a series III? i have a set of almost new rubber mats in my current car and if they fit in the new one then great, but if they don't I'm going to try and blag a set tomorrow when I collect the car. Cheers, Ivor.
  12. Anyone know if the mats prom the SII will fit the SIII? I've got a set of almost new SII mats that I will use in the SIII (take delivery Friday) if they will fit. Cheers.
  13. I'm taking delivery of a standard SEL Exec toward the end of the month. Can anyone confirm if VCDS will give me Hi Beam Assist? As said, the car has no extras on it. cheers.
  14. Haha, good shout.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ok, I'm going to hold me hand up here and ask why 'lo and behold, it was a rat after all' ?What was it you saw in writing that made the revelation?
  16. Absolutely it does. They are a business first and foremost, us the buying public are just an order number for them.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I think part of the problem for Skoda is the success of the new Superb. The SI and SII were by and large mainly sold to the taxi trade, but the SIII is a leap forward in looks and image and as a result the amount of sales has caught Skoda out hence long waiting lists. All of a sudden Skoda think "hang on, why should we be flogging this brand new sort after car at such discount when there are waiting lists for it" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. What, like put a defeat device on a car to falsely lower emissions during tests [emoji6]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Why not? If they feel they are doing the right thing, surely explaining WHY they are doing it to a dejected customer who has had their vehicle order cancelled when the car has already arrived in the country, can only be a positive for them.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Has anybody asked Skoda in public on Twitter for an answer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. This just smacks of sour grapes. Quite pathetic really. For the record, I bought a brand new E Class from a main dealer and had over 8K discount. This talk of protecting the brand is nonsense. All mainstream brands are available with discount if you shop around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
