  1. I get this too. Oil change every 5k miles. Just changed air, fuel and pollen filters too after 1 year/10k miles. For how cheap I can get the parts for, it's a no-brainier. As said, whatever makes you happy.
  2. Used this website last week to order some service items. Worked out even cheaper than ECP with the 25% discount. Appears to be some sort of sister site. Got air, pollen and fuel filters for just over £24 delivered. As you can see, the parts are the same as Euro sell and even have Euro stickers on them. I'm not an 'oem or nothing' person so know there will be some who will frown upon this but i've been buying stuff from Euro for years without any problems. Worth a look. Del
  3. I went for Pagid recently. Can't fault them. Look out for a 30% discount on ECP or try carparts4less.co.uk.
  4. This is what i have. Smells great too. Only thing is the conditioner is a cream. You could try applying it with a very gentle bristle brush though, to get into the perforations, then buff it with a cloth, microfibre or such like.
  5. Makes a big difference. Looks really good.
  6. Whereas I think that there is nothing wrong with the suction method. I'm quite confident in doing it this way and I discussed it with an ex-mechanic I work with who rates it too and has a Pela 6000 suction pump. Boat/yacht owners have used this method for years where a sump plug isn't an option. Crap in bottom of the sump could have been failure of the CCV hoses. My Saab was serviced on schedule (sump plug method) and when the sump was dropped to check the strainer it had a fair amount of debris in it. Each to their own though. P.s Some swear by an oil flush, some think they are bad for PD engines. I change my oil every 5k miles and get it nice and hot before I change it so don't bother. No need to clamp the hoses when changing the fuel filter. When you move the hose clamps back to slide the hoses off, they do a good enough job.
  7. That is a bargain! I paid £19.44 delivered for mine and thought that was cheap. Good find.
  8. For sale, In very good condition. Some minor wear but nothing out of the ordinary. All cleaned and treated with Gliptone cleaner/conditioner giving it a nice matt finish. Does not come with an airbag. Minor wear Clean 'pores' £50 including delivery. Also have a mk1 (and some mk2's I think) Fabia standard 4-spoke steering wheel, non leather. Complete with airbag. Very good condition. £50 including delivery. Any questions, give me a shout. Cheers Del
  9. Really like that. Can you take a pic of the whole dash if you don't mind?
  10. I considered the 1.4 and the 1.9 when l was buying my Fabia. I can't remember finding anything bad about the 1.4 but I decided that I would feel the benefit of the extra 20bhp that the 1.9 PD100 provides over the 1.4. I also had previous dealing with a PD150 variant of the 1.9 so knew a bit about it. In my opinion (and that's all it is, not fact) the 1.9 TDi PD100 is quite an 'under-stressed' engine, especially in a small car such as the Fabia. As the car is quite small and light it is very easy to get excellent mpg from. I've never driven the 1.4 but can't help thinking it may have to be worked more and therefore be harder on fuel than an equivalent 1.9. Hope that helps.
  11. I did this. The little garage I bought the car from couldn't find it, I couldn't find it. Then read on here about the secret compartment and there it was. Woohoo!
  12. Check GSF prices too. A lot of their parts are genuine, or at least they used to be.
  13. My Fabia was a Police Liason car before I got it. Was giving it a damn good clean inside not long after I got it and found an evidence bag in the seatback pocket. Fortunately it hadn't been used but wasn't exactly expecting to find it.
  14. £25 for a fuel filter!?! Jeezo. That's a shocking price. Think I paid about £12 for my last one from local VW dealer. Oil filter was about £3. You know that most dealers supply and fit Fram filters which are classed as genuine oem.
  15. Looks a lot like the one I used a couple of weeks ago to do mine. Hopefully should be ok. Looks like it has a decent selection of adapters for the caliper fitment.
  16. I've changed fuel filters a couple times on PD engines and never pre-filled the filter. Does no harm whatsoever.
  17. I like it. Looks really good. Well done, decent first attempt.
  18. Also known as rear wishbone bush. in used but as-new condition. Were only fitted to the car for 1500 miles. In excellent condition as can be seen from the pictures. Selling as I didn't like the increased engine vibration heard through the car. Can be reviewed here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/262887-powerflex-console-bushes-increased-vibration/ Did give excellent feel and handling and are a popular mod, just didn't suit me. Honesty is the best policy when selling an item on here. These retail for between £50-£60. I'll also supply some replacement silicon grease as the original grease was used during their initial installation. As said they are in excellent condition, no noticeable wear. Therefore I'm asking £30 delivered which I think is a very fair price.
  19. Just an update - got the new bushes fitted today. Only had a short drive back from the garage but car was so much quieter, much less vibration. Pity the powerflex bushes didn't work out for me. I should have done my homework prior to getting them but some you win some you lose. The powerflex ones were easily removed so I've put them up for sale here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/264280-powerflex-pff85-602-console-bushes/ For information, the ones I got look like these:
  20. Heard nothing but good comments about these. Go for them.
