  1. There could also be a link between a poorly manufactured tyre and a lot of weights being needed. The OP doesn't advise on how much weight was required on the wheel prior to the winters being fitted.I'm sure I read a post somewhere about some makes of tyres, I.e cheaper makes being more difficult to balance (not saying Kumho are cheap, had them fitted on wife's old car) than premium brands. I'll try and find the thread.
  2. I used Oponeo for my Vector 4Seasons. Came direct from Germany and appeared to be recent stock. Last time I used mytyres they showed me a local tyre fitter (less than a mile away) then when I ordered for fitting they could only do it at a garage over 20 miles away. I complained and they fobbed me off with some feeble excuse. Think I'd only use them for home delivery, if I was going to use them again. I'd recommend Oponeo though, quick delivery, competitively priced, good communication and large selection of tyres. Shame they don't deliver to Greece.
  3. I'm just about to start the '1' of the 3-2-1 cycle on mine. So far the preliminary results are good. Car seems quieter and considering I'm stuck in traffic on the Erskine Bridge for at least 10-15 mins each day, mpg has only dropped about 3-4 mpg so I'm predicting an increase of at least that on a normal run. Likely to be more like 5-6, which means I'll be close to 69-70mpg.
  4. I'm looking at doing this too. Mine is the same, takes an age to warm up completely. And as most of my journey is spent on dual-carriageways and motorways it shouldn't cause any issues. I spoke to a guy in work who does this with his 206 diesel and he's had no issues and said the car warmed up quicker.
  5. I have them on my Fabia just now. They were very good in the winter, high levels of grip in slush/light snow and have also worked fine during the warm summer weather. Don't seem to have worn too quickly either. I'd recommend them, though they have gone up in price recently. Vredestein Quatrac 3's are abut £10 cheaper just now.
  6. Resurrecting an old thread here but just bought a bottle of Diesel Rhino to try out. Read a lot of good feedback about it and a guy in work has been using it in his Clio dCi with positive results. I'm gonna share it with a mate who has a 1.3 CDTi Corsa and see how things go. Will report back once I've been using it a while.
  7. As Alex said above then wipe over with Poorboys Natural Look Dressing. Gives a nice matt finish and smells great.
  8. I always used Gliptone. Fantastic stuff. Gives a wonderful leather smell and a lovely matt finish to the leather.
  9. Rainsports always get a good write-up so I'm sure you can't go wrong there. Another alternative is an all-season tyre. I'm currently running Goodyear 4-seasons but I'm considering Vredestein Quatrac 3's. The all-season tyre seems to work well for me. I don't push the car very hard at all.
  10. Very nice. Looking forward to more pics.
  11. I know I've answered your other post but thought I'd post here too. As far as I know, a/c cars can have just one fan - like mine. The fan controller regulates the speed. I.e. switch on the a/c, fan runs at low speed. Engine gets too hot, fan runs at fast speed. As I mentioned in my other post, my fan doesn't run at low speed when the a/c is switched on. I'm pretty sure this is due to a defective fan controller.
  12. I haven't got to the bottom of it i'm afraid. However, my a/c actually works. I'm pretty sure it's the fan controller that is defective on mine. Just haven't got round to doing anything about it. Do you get the hissing noise inside the cabin? What I've figured out is that my fan (singular) doesn't turn at low speed when the a/c is switched on. Therefore this causes the compressor to overheat building pressure which causes the hissing noise. So, what I do at the moment is only switch the a/c on above 30mph. I then turn it off if I stop at junctions, roundabouts etc. Above 30mph enough air is passing through the front of the car to let the system work normally. Probably of no use to you, but it's where I'm at just now.
  13. 4300k would be my choice too. Closest look to oem.
  14. Think it's GI Motorsport in Kilmarnock. Looks like they can do custom maps as well as generic.
  15. Fitted Pagid discs and pads all round to mine a few months ago. Seem fine to me.
  16. I'd be interested to know what's involved in changing the fan. Mine is on the blink too.
  17. What a difference, good job. Looks really good.
  18. I was thinking this too. I don't even wear anything with a zip when cleaning mine. Car looks awesome though. Such a deep, rich colour.
  19. 256mm for fronts, 232mm for rears. Pads are without wear sensors. I did front and rear discs and pads a couple of months ago on my PD100. Let me know if you need more info.
  20. Mine takes a 1-1/4" socket to remove filter which is 32mm I think. I'd replace the pollen filter anyway. I was surprised how black mine was after just one year.
