  1. The CAYC engine in the 1.6 TDI has the cheaper Bosch glow plugs,
  2. Cost!!! The original Bosch glow plugs are about £10 and as easy to change as a spark plug. What the hell is that 0.85 amps, was that connected to a charger? You do not measure battery voltage whilst being charged. Was that after being left overnight without starting the car?
  3. So did he replace glow plug 2? The issue with the battery is age, a battery that age is doing well to keep going. Have you checked the voltage in the morning before starting it? The stop/start will not operate if battery below about 12.5v.
  4. That'll be because of low battery voltage. When I had a glow plug fail it brought up the engine light not the glow plug light. I have never heard of that, error codes are usually 2 letters and 4 numbers.
  5. That's something only you can decide on to your taste. How about helicopter tape, transparent, or are you hiding up scratches?

There are a few different types of filter.

  8. You could have done it even quicker following the instructions Roottoot posted abopve """Reset Skoda Yeti oil change reminder – procedure Turn the ignition OFF. Press and hold trip reset button on the right side of instrument cluster. Turn the ignition ON. You should see service message on the display. Release the trip reset button. Confirm oil change service reset with OK button on the steering wheel or with button on the left of the instrument cluster. You should see confirmation message on the display. Turn the ignition OFF. Turn the ignition back on and check"""
  9. That service reminder also monitors the quality of the oil by several means.

  11. Mine runs at 90 degrees for water and about 98 for oil. The water is fixed at 90 so when up to temperature if a little below or above it will always read that. The oil temperature fluctuates depending on engine load or if it is doing a DPF regeneration when it gets to perhaps 106.
  12. A powered tailgate has never been an available option on the Skoda Yeti. But there are plenty of aftermarket kits available.
  13. Does not post to the UK 😞

Yes. It sounds like this must be a 4x4, a lot more involved just getting to it.

It's only about 7½ minutes with no voice so just mute the volume.

With a £12 Lidl oil vacuum pump no need to even go underneath and no drain pan to clean up. Used it for the last 3 years and no way am I going back under any more.

Yes, Although the 1.8 TSI is said to be a great engine to drive there are too many expensive issues with VERY high oil consumption that the only really viable solution is a new or reconditioned engine, both of which are going to probably cost more than the car is worth.
  18. Be interesting to see if it has anything to connect them to.
  19. Are there any Yeti's that have pad wear indicators?

Have you changed the direction of the EGR outlet into the inlet 180 degrees to stop it spraying onto the throttle body?
  21. Urrell replied to Bison's topic in Skoda Yeti
If you did that would it not just move the problem to the DPF? Have you removed the throttle body to clean the tar out of there?

There must be something wrong, mine has never done that. I have to agree about it's unhappy at below 1500 revs in the higher gears but I take it because it's the only Yeti diesel without a DMF.
  23. Does your Yeti have AdBlue, if yes it is not affected if no it has already been done.
  24. It was the emissions "Fix" that covered replacing a number of components for 2 years, I very much doubt if yours is still eligible for that. How long have you had the car and did it come with a 2 year warranty for covering those parts? Edit: I made sure mine never had that done as it placed a lot of extra load on injectors, EGR and DPF etc systems. Also it is a LOT more expensive to get the EGR valve work done on a 4X4 as a lot had to be removed to get to it.

👍 Yes brochure shows from launch in 2009. It only disappeared in May 2015 when the new 2.0 TDI AdBlue engines were brought in.
