Long shot I know, but will the 6 speed gearbox off a pd 140 engined Golf Plus go straight onto a 110TDi on my Octavia?

Had a look with my dad, and a cap has come off on the top of the gearbox, presume its the filler cap, and there is oil all round that area! Running it into the garage first thing in the morning to find the extent of the damage!

I'm in glossop if you fancy a nice drive to get it done!

I dont know where you get the £250 from, there are a few group buys going on, on other forums, think ive seen a link on here somewhere! When we got ours, it was £125 ish delivered to us! So when you look at it like that, what would you prefer to do, spend £75 and it might not work properly, or £125 and have a supported lead and software and ross tech backing if you have any problems. I know my answer!

I was driving home tonight, and went up to third gear from second. It started to whine, I was doing around 1600/1700 RPM and it stayed there till around 2200 RPM. I didn't want to push it, so I don't know if it goes or stays at higher revs? I have done a load of searchs on here, and I can find people having whines from there gearbox, but seems to be in a few gears, or they never say there outcome. anyone have any ideas? Will VAG COM bring anything up? Cheers. Chris

Will find the graph out in the morning, and get the information off it! I know that awesome know there stuff, so trust what they say, but when I saw that someone else was having the exact same problems, I thought I would jump on the bandwagon!

I am having the exact same problem with my xenon on the drivers side, and also when my car was on the rolling road a few weeks ago, Awesome GTI think i have some sort of running problems. The graph from the rolling road was just a peak and then dropped straight off again. I have a 2002 Octavia 1.9TDi 110Bhp, so doesnt have coil packs. Anything else it could be?

If you went through your dealer, then it kept your warranty fully intact! I was offered a remap from a local tuner from the skoda dealer when I bought my car, and this was obviously with there profit added on top, but kept the warranty for me. At the time I didnt go for the chip, but still to this day wish I had of, as I know of a few people who have got remaps now, and it makes for such a nicer drive.

Have just taken a policy out with these today! Have heard fantastic things about them. The only negative comment I have ever heard about them is, If you make a claim they pay out for your car and all the mods you have declared, BUT they do not give you the chance to buy your car back or any of the mods. Its actually a LS LOWRY! Long story, I dont own it, but I know a women who does. And it was done for her years ago by the man himself! and was wondering what she should insure it for basically! (Rough estimate really)

My brother in law delivers to one of the horners garages in Rochdale, and as he walked in this morning, he was told the recievers are in, so not to bother leaving his stuff!!! All the cars had gone already, and they were just loading all the workshop tools on the back of a Luton! But from my experience of this company, All I can say is Good Riddance, and hope that other local dealers will look after the customers of Horners better than they did! Just my 2p's worth!

Is there anyway of putting me nearer to the bottom of the list, I have to work on the morning of the 19th, will be finishing at 1, then will be around 45 minute drive to get there! Is it possible to put me down later, If not I will have to pull out!

I was just thinking of getting some out of a Golf/Bora with the same engine etc, they look the same! But i'm by no means sure, this is why i'm asking for help, lol. Was also looking into the bora Sport ones, which look very similar, but as per EddyH's how to guide on fitting them into a Octavia, they are different, and you just need standard Golf/Bora Clocks! Thanks for all the help up to now!!!

I have used them before, the one at Trafford Park! Never had any problems in the past, but would they sell the actual VW Clocks, or would they be aftermarket ones. Cheers for the replys!!!

Had a look at that VAGCAT, was the first place I went, but I could not find the part numbers for the clocks. Could be me being stupid! Thanks for the replys, but as of now, I can not find the answers.
