06' Stuttering: You might like to try...
chris_newell41 replied to Zebra's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
i ran it on total diesle for first 450 miles of it's life and noticed the stutter but no big deal(not big enough to make me cry to the dealer). and then another 450 miles on tesco diesel. the tescvo diesel was good and I think the stutter has gone:thumbup: it's either the diesel or the fact the engine has some miles on it. I think when it loosens up the stutter will go for good. -
New Leon FR cheaper than Octy vRS
chris_newell41 replied to Zetec-S's topic in General Automotive Chat
the octy vrs alloys looks so much better than the Leons. also like someone else said the interior looks...oh yes tacky! and it's not my skoda tinted glasses at all. I wouldn't say the Octy is soo stylish and sporty but atleast it's got a bit of class behind it's looks. At the end of the day it's IMO like you had yours. -
New Leon FR cheaper than Octy vRS
chris_newell41 replied to Zetec-S's topic in General Automotive Chat
the Leon looks a bit cheap and tacky. those alloys are a bit bland. I think I'd have to go for the Octy 2 VRS instead. suppose if thats what people want then fair enough. -
pointless thread:rofl:

I noticed a performance increase and MPG increase in my 1.2 16v clio. the mpg increase actually paid itself off against the increased price but then I drove faster because of the better acceleration! maybe it's just mind games? who knows but definitly a difference

not many people on the roads are competent drivers, so it is a very fair test. ASR and ESP cannot be compared against each other. I'd say they should sell it as standard. I paid £500 for this option on my Fabia VRS as I knew what it could do and how effective it was. People don't buy it as they don't know what it is and if they do know what it is and don't want to pay £500 then they are very naive. £500 to save your life and others in the car and other road users....i can't see how anyone would say no to it. I mean £12k for a car... whats another £500...just buy it!. Great tests what car did and they clearly showed the eeffectivness of ESP and how people are unaware of it. I think a big campaign to help the awareness of ESP and also trying to get Manufacturers to throw it in as standard is great! to What Car!

Electrical squeal on the vRS
chris_newell41 replied to meames's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I think it's the PAS pump. Mine makes a similar more high pitched but quieter noise than a Mini does. Sounds quite cool actually. When you trun the ignition off you can here the PAS release pressure or something.again sounds good! -

never have guessed you know -
But he started spitting about LG's being pants and philips are better. just putting him into line so he knows next time. phillips are fantastic and i never said any different. just they use same components as LG as they are a partnership when it comes to new technology Tv's so the quality of picture is the same

Scary: How much does your car cost you
chris_newell41 replied to BigW's topic in General Automotive Chat
brand new Fab VRS costs me £74 a week!! excellent! -
had the Fabia VRS 2 weeks and It's amazing how many idiots get right up close to the rear bumper. Never happened in my clio 1.2. Today came to traffic light and I was in the left lane. A guy in a daewoo came up to the right of me so that he could overtake me. The stretch of raod was uphill and merged to one lane 300yrds up the road. The Green lights went on and he revved the tits off of it.I simply set off slowly in 1st and then into 2nd and I was passed. Not sure what he wanted to do? it's seemed like after 1st gear he gave up. it was strange. maybe he was trying to get a reaction?

I did not register but my car does stutter slightly sometimes. I may see how the "fix" affects the cars that have it fixed and then make my move. I hope Kerry has seen this. She is in the process of sueing Skoda UK (From what she said):thumbdwn: :thumbdwn: -

Black magic paint, is it me or is it cr*p.
chris_newell41 replied to SerpentwarVRS's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
the ranualt clio I had was pearlescent black (v similar to black magic). it did show up scrathes, chips ect but I think it is to do with the colour of the undercoat and the fact that black will show the imperfections more. When a bird did it's do on the car and was left a day (without being washed off) it would take the shine out of the paint which was very annoying. I think there nothing wrong with the paint just the colour. I mad ethe same mistake and bought a black magic VRS but tbh it looks the best when nice and clean. -
Questions 'how does an 04 to 06 VRS Model compare'
chris_newell41 replied to sbarker's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Why the hell would anyone do this? it's your mind that has the stutter not the car:rofl: (take with pinch of salt love!) As for the 2 thirds of people who notice the stutter only 1 is taking legal action and no one else has rejected the car. I have noticed the stutter a couple of times and added my name to the stutter list but it's not annoying in any way and does not affect driving. maybe saying your mind has a stutter is a bit harsh but taking skoda uk to court is too. a bit OTT if you ask me. But then why do I care I am loving my '06 FAB VRS and it is a wonderful to drive. some say "like a dream"! -

chris_newell41 replied to sbarker's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I drive in traffic a hell of alot (sheffield traffic is soo bad) and do not have any issues what so ever, I have 06 model with the dreaded BLT engine code. It has stuttered twice now and it's no a big issue at all. its down the the way you drive I think, ome seem to have massive issues and like me it does not affect me. Kerry: I thought you rejected your car? or do you just like moaning? -
How does the VRS 'compare' to other motors
chris_newell41 replied to J4CKO's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
but they love a good old moan when one pops up though...it's a good laugh to see them all winge:rofl: ! -
2 standards. HD DVD and Blue ray DVD. Blue ray has the biggest backing but HD DVD has still got good backing. I think it may be a dilemma but I'd say Blue ray has far more potential. Dont wnat to go into it but maybe a read up yourself would hive you your own conclusion. No doubt Sony will be pushing blue ray like hell as they own alot of the movie studios which will produce their films in blue ray. in the world today I think thier is room for 2 standards unlike 15 years ago. (not sure on years as i'm not old enough to remmeber)

All LG lcd and plasma's use the same components as philips...just like skoda use audi/vw components. LG is the value brand for philips and just like with skoda you get better value for money with LG and all the bells and whistles just without the name tag and price tag. sorry to say this but your a fool for buying Philips, as they do exact same model in LG with better spec for same price!
