  1. Lets forget the car bit, but then this is the EV section, so lets remember that 'Salary Sacrifice' is one thing predicted to change. So talking Gross Income & NI contribution that was near the 1/3 tax to give the net income. Take Home pay. Plenty never smoked, drove, gambled or drank and had not enough to buy insurance for contents etc. These might be the ones that pay for their care in old age because they bought a home, while those that never saved a penny or bought property get everything paid for by others.
  2. ^^^ Sometimes there is like that difference above because a car was changed to km instead of miles, but even 36,439 km / 22,642 would be wrong. 'Used vehicle' MPC / MULTI POINT CHECK. Something that the dealers show and have a price for to reduce the profit between buying and selling, reduce Tax as tax is on the profit. Every thing they can list / show as being done as preparation is costed and taken off profit. High value work, done cheaply or not done.
  3. Independent Filling Stations & others make a Payment to their supplier as the Tanker delivers the fuel to their tanks. Then they are collecting the Duty & VAT.
  4. Macduff across from Doune Parrish Church. The church also gets lit up.
  5. Lock down had the likes of Vauxhall / Peugeot (Stellantis) and Ford getting cars and BEV,s first registered and out to the NHS and other. Cheap Lease Schemes etc, for Workers etc.
  6. Many are not BEV,s, electrified. Small battery or PHEV cars.
  7. Keir Starmer MP / PM can get some Ex Tory MP / Minister enrolled to look into it. After all no manufacturer / importer for the manufacturers wants to pay a £15,000 penalty on every car sold / First Registered because they never meet the 22% Target with their cars or the partners. Whatever way they manipulate First Registrations this year they are up sh!t creak next year.
  8. Not so much in the past 4 years because they are still less than 5 years old. In 2012 on 2009-2012,s a Global Recall to change the Synthetic oil to mineral. Not including the EU / Europe, that was a service recall 2014. then 2013-2015,s Recall Action on some, Software Update, preventative, pressure / heat issues and accumulator failures, and MCUs. 2015-2018 TPI,s, Software and Clutch Updates and Upgrades. Then 2018 some issues along with the 1.5 TSI ACT, not the kangarooing, the DSG,s software / mapping. 3 Recalls in total in Australia 2009-2016. So now just the odd failures more, 1.6 TDI or 1.5 TSI ACT,s, not really with 1.0 TSI,s. How many out of the 2,500 Skoda were or are producing a day we will never know because Skoda / VW never accept there are issues. But if it is only 2% of those that are being bought it is a pity that the Manufacturer & Importer make owners p!$$ about and pay up out of a 3 year warranty on an item with no service guidelines, schedule or recommendations for servicing.
  9. It is pretty simple why incentives were given to go over to EV,s in the UK, with Grants, Loans, Interest Free Loans and the VED advantage. The UK Government signed up with the EU to figures for emissions reductions and various targets. These still exist, and then there are more that have been introduced. No point anyone getting their nickers in a twist about what is coming down the line in the UK. As to those wetting their pants with excitement over others that have managed to play the game while it could be played having to pay up now, then that is fine. Your times of having to pay out are coming what ever you drive.
  10. @moley Every car buyer does not pay VAT on cars. MOTABILITY Finance do not pay VAT on the vehicles they buy outright from the manufacturers / importers. Then the person leasing the vehicle is exempt from VED. They no longer need an exemption certificate as it is covered by a group cover. Disable drivers or Registered Keepers of a privately owned or lease vehicle can be exempt from VED. Vehicle class disabled. Conversions & Modifications of vehicles for disabled users is VAT exempt. There are certain Emergency Vehicles & for Charities that are Zero VAT Rated or VAT Exempt. That does not include Police Vehicles in Scotland, and their are Mountain Rescue vehicles not Zero VAT Rated.
  11. A Vauxhall Corsa Electric did go on fire in Aberdeen, STV News, August. There was lots on Facebook about an EV on fire in Inverurie, but it was driver error as it was a fag end starting a fire in the back seat where there was a fuel can sat. The battery appears to have not melted much, the 12volt one. And what is melted under the bonnet is not the battery.
  12. Cam Belts are not at 5 years anymore, DQ200 DSG,s were never @ 40.000 miles, none ever by the years. A DQ381 DSG is at 80,000 miles, or sooner if you want.
  13. Welcome to the Forum. Engine Oil can be dirty 20 miles after an Oil Change, how many miles do you do in 6 months. A Fixed Oil & Filter regime is fine, 9,400 miles / 12 months. The Fuel Filter comes way down the list of the stuff like the Brake Fluid Change, The Pollen Filter change, the Air Filter change as 6 years / 60,000 miles. That time is a nonsense, that should be checked annually or bi-annual on variable servicing. It is Oil & Inspection service years 1 and 2 and year 3 with extended scope if on Fixed Servicing Regime. The Haldex Service is at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner.
  14. If the Oil temperature it was doing as oil does, and the coolant system and fans getting the oil back down near the 92*oC that the coolant is at.
  15. Was the battery checked at that point?
  16. Welcome. Maybe @Crasher or @ApertureS will be able to give some advice. I hope the Fried ECU diagnosis was correct. How did that happen?
  17. '£600 for All EV Owners' Not going to happen & that would only be near in line with the Premium Taxed vehicles. Even people that do not have cars or motorised vehicles pay for the roads in the UK and people in the EU paid quite a lot for many miles of them as well. @Graham Butcher What is all this money you talk about having spent, just the Fuel Duty & VAT & the VED over the years? That was to get you about, not to benefit others was it?
  18. A 22 kW battery Renault Zoe with a 125 km (77.6 miles) range replaced & giving it 240 km range. 77.6 miles divided by 20 kWh usable = 3.8 miles a kWh. Old battery. 149 miles divided by 37.7 kWh usable = 3.95 miles a kWh. Replacement battery.
  19. Pinch of salt obviously on WLTP and New BEV,s. But the crap continues of the figures being given. All they should do is say to a CEO, lets go for a nice long drive in your latest cars.
  20. @Graham Butcher Was it only 30+ miles that car can do? Could it be 30 miles plus 20 miles? 20 kWh x 2.5 miles. There is in the Review Videos about the cars that had Warranty Issues just being bought back and no new battery fitted. Now what it is is a car years before the WLTP had Renault or some people saying 22 kWh battery could take the car 140 miles. Like they say a 32.6 kWh battery can take an Electric MINI that far. (28.9 kWh usable, no idea what the Renault is usable. So a figure plucked out of the air and testers saying 100 miles more like, and as low as 50 mph in winter. There is a video on here and do we know actually how far the 12 plate Renault can go? Odd that is was doing so badly at slow speeds. No idea how his regenning was. There was a comment on having to brake. Well some are better with brakes and not just regen braking. It would be good for another video of the actual distance the car can go on 60 mph NSL roads. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CeYSxXDW7xc 115 miles, to maybe 50 miles. Talking about a new car. 3 hours on a 3 pin cable even getting 2.1 kWh is 6.3 kWh, and 25 miles divided by 6.3 is near 4 miles a kWh. So he must know that if there is 20 kWh usable that is a 100 miles range car. If 25% of the battery capacity is lost then 75 miles getting 4 miles a kWh.
  21. They will need to sort that then will they not, job not completed. How much AdBlue was added and how many miles done since?
