1.2tsi black edition
@octavia1980 There is a thread in the YETI Section and Youtube Videos. The only people that seem to not be saying there will be a New Yeti in 2025 is SKODA. ? Is there any articles from Skoda saying they are going to produce a Yeti before the Epiq is revealed?

the truth about electric cars
The one catching out plenty is CHADeMO. You get adaptors. CHADeMO seems to be much more user friendly when chargers are playing up with the CCS socket. But more seem to be sitting broken on chargers under the Administration of Charge Place Scotland and maintenance for that council with SWARCO. When SWARCO were driving cars with CHADeMO i even watched them turn up and charge their cars at a faulty out of order charger an then leave not recommissioning it. If you reported the charger faulty the Call Handler would say the charger had been working. Yes the cheeky barstewards used them. REAL WORLD for some. Then just general parking / charging bay widths, just a joke really at many for getting in or out cars while charging and you can not move the car. (Tesla charging bays.) When there is marking to one side if it suits the driver and the charging bay it can still be awkward with various vehicles, it can be disabled or infirm drivers or passengers. When there are Charging Bays for the Disabled they can just be occupied as can anything anyplace by anyone, **People, real people do still apply for and use RFID cards for simple reasons. They do not need to mess about with a phone, or a phone when it is raining, wet screens and such. Tap a card, it should work, if not then you are there on a bl00dy phone, places with crap phone reception and crap apps.** Which is the strangest / laziest the driver of the Black Merc (Plenty like him.) or the White EV Merc, EV bay so park there. (Plenty like them.)

the truth about electric cars
No need for a song and dance. Look at the car charging point, if you can figure out how to open a flap. Youtube Videos aplenty. Obviously there are those without a computer or a smart phone or an enquiring mind. They might not yet of heard about electric cars, or if they have might have a tongue in their head and ears on the side. (Deaf and Dumb can drive as well obviously, they are maybe not so daft as some around.) You just need to know what your Tesla uses, and with others is it CCS or CHADeMO for DC Charging. If it is AC charging pretty simple. As to chargers as new ones are being installed the signage is much better.

Oil consumption
You really are not using excessive oil. Do you do lots of shorter trips with cold starts?

the truth about electric cars
I have a lot of miles to do in the next 10 days and am taking the MINI as i have planned around using the Tesla Superchargers unless there are any public chargers cheaper and there are not any that suit on my routes other than on the odd occasion if i charge on 7 or 11 kW AC,s.

Thinking of moving to Enyaq, madness?
Check out the Enyaq section then on which are hard on tyres, and software updates etc.
-
Oil consumption
It will be getting burned along with the Diesel Oil the car runs on if it is not leaking out and not blowing out the tail pipe still as oil.
-
Oil consumption
Sound pretty good if it just uses 1 litre of oil every 6,000 km / 3,700 miles. Some might use less and others much more including new cars with less km on them.

Inner Edge Tyre Wear
Always get stuff in writing from them. If this crowd are dealing with issues they come away with some total crap. Who knows who their phone a friend is but it is not always the VW Technical department. PS. Remember and ask that Service Manager or any one if they ever trained or Qualified as a Mechanical Engineer, Motor Technician or even a vehicle fitter.

Error: workshop! Only leave vehicle in position P
Welcome to the forum. Worth a search sometimes to see if the issue has other threads covering the same issue.

Scrapping ?
Are you going to advertise it on Briskoda, Spares or Repair?

the truth about electric cars
Nerds and early adopters maybe just used what common sense and brain power they are left with by the age they have a driving licence. Not average Joes or Janes, maybe just a sandwich short of a picnic. It is amazing how people that look totally sane, have good jobs, buy, lease or get a car from their work and have not a slightest clue. Know absolutely nothing about what chargers do what or at what speed or anything about the car. Turn up at Charge Place Scotland chargers without an App, a Card, never enrolled and think they can just tap a credit or debit card. Someplaces they can just tap a card in their name or cards that come from their employer or with the car.

Inner Edge Tyre Wear
@chriskelland Who at Skoda admitted to a problem with the battery pack affecting the rear tyres / suspension. A person at a dealers. Skoda UK or Skoda CZ? Sounds like BS from whoever. Rear of car too heavy, motor too heavy. too much power. Not just the tyres and suspension alignment then?

Thinking of moving to Enyaq, madness?
I do not know the situation in Ireland but i would not be buying an EV as a private car unless keeping it for many years and not concerned over depreciation. Leasing if there are tax benefits then that is a different matter. @Stonekeeper has moved from an ICE to an Enyaq is the last few weeks.

Fabia vrs headlights
Quite possibly the wrong headlights. Best you say the age of the vRS. 2010-2011, or 2011 on. Clear headlights or Black glass.

the truth about electric cars
When it is 60 pence a kWh then 10 kWh is £6.00 & if you get 4 miles a kWh then 40 miles. 3.5 miles a kWh then 35 miles. Slow down and get 4.5 miles a kWh and you are at 45 miles. But then if it is 79 pence a kWh and you are going to need 20 kWh,s you are £15.80 for 90 miles or maybe 80 miles or like me 70 miles. Crazy costs.

VRS front diff question
The DQ250 6 Speed Wet Clutch DSG is and has proved to be less liable to fault than the DQ381,s. Sadly VW Group / Skoda are still head in the sand over the failure rate around the world. Re the VAQ Diff. It is high time that Service Desk staff and Workshop managers and techs were being made aware of the servicing requirements. Obviously there are trained and qualified ones that know the service regime and tell owners.

Thinking of moving to Enyaq, madness?
@Steviedakota Will you be able to charge the car at home or work on cheap electric, and will you be doing the length of trips requiring public charging?

Crazy car design
@Aspman I could have kept this courtesy car for a couple of days and i intended too until i was taking it home and my back was killing me within 20 minutes. The Plastic seats were terrible & the ride and the controls. It went back the next morning rather than drive it any more. A 1.5 petrol hybrid.

the truth about electric cars
Infrastructure sucks some places, and some providers / networks suck. Charge Place Scotland is a special case as many providers / owners of chargers. My experience of best charging experience, no issue or maybe 1 or 2 in 75,000 miles of charging. Instavolt. Instant charge from tapping card. PodPoint. I use a card or the App, nearly always instant start unless chargerfaulty. Evyve. Instant charge from tapping card. Tesla. App, instant. Osprey. Card & instant. Ionity. Card & Instant. Some problems. Very frustrating. MFG. Card & App, and have sometimes taken several attempts and move charger to get started. Lots of issues so only use or try if not in a hurry. BP Pulse. I have subscription. Shell Recharge, I have never managed to get a charge started at 1. Tried about 4. If only ZAPMAP was as good as they think they are. Pretty damn hopeless IME. Never updating quick enough, missing many chargers even when reported to them. 47 pence on InstaVolt. Old Video. Now 85 pence a kWh. Now from 1st September 54 pence between 10 pm & 6 am. That is using the App. Being extended to Contactless uses before the end of the year. (Budget dependent maybe.)

EPC and engine waring light
Usually 1 cylinder with Euro 5 1.4 TSI Twinchargers 132-136 kW engines. Not so sure it is just an issue with other 1.4 TSI,s. I would not use additives / detergents other than what you get using E5 Super Unleaded 97 or 99 ron minimum. Which country are you in @Steinrawr & how many miles / km has the car done?

the truth about electric cars
Chargers can be really awkward. Shell recharge rubbish. Some chargers plug in tap card push buttons or not and go. Where many go wrong is as I did. You need to realise there are slow ones. You need to let them set. Communicate. Light up a screen. Lots have buttons with no indication what they are till the screen comes alive. You are canceling before you even get a start. I often have to reset a charger. Press the emergency stop. Follow the instructions and wait. Sadly some have no instructions so you need to know the procedure. Help lines can be hopeless if they answer. Often it can be quite a while before you get a reply and then it was a waste of time. Being familiar with what you use can be the only way. There are providers that are just dead easy to use. Sadly unless it is Tesla they are the more expensive. Shell and BP are just pathetic . Customer services are just hopeless. PS. If we are talking Porsche Taycan driver and 20,000 miles a year or so business use with the camera gear and also private use, then you really should know which work how and prices etc. After all your putting in tax returns as a business user with your car on the never never until paid off or traded in.

the truth about electric cars
There are quite a few BYD,s now with people leasing from Motability. I have helped 2 drivers. Sadly they were not explained to when getting the cars that they are looking for CCS on the chargers for DC charging. AC is Slow Charging, often referred to as 'Fast'. They were not explained to that in Scotland that Charge Place Scotland chargers are almost exclusively Rapid chargers, so 50 kW max which is far from Rapid. I pointed out to them to get 100 or 100 + rapid charging they would be paying likely at BP, MFG, Shell Recharge, Ionity, Osprey or maybe Tesla charging Non Tesla. Those taking the cars orders and doing hand overs really can be hopeless, and when the customer is getting a car for a disabled driver or passenger it is quite pathetic. As i have been telling Motability. I know from Salespeople that are dealing with EV,s that many of them just charge at work or home and have little experience of public chargers other than ones maybe at their Dealerships which really are not for the Public in lots of cases.

Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
PS. Lots of car fire reports somewhere in Scotland, nearly every week. I never mentioned the 2 cars on fire in Stonehaven as no mention of what type and the pictures were not clear. Someone was arrested for arson anyway. There was disruption on 1 major routes yesterday in Scotland because of a car on fire.
