  1. I spotted an advert on Autotrader last night for a £25,000 E-Cobra, Then found this vid. Full sized not like the scaled down E-Cobra & it's 65 mile range.
  2. @Dr_Kokkenballz Is this from starting with a fully charged battery and using that and just 3 miles range left of battery? or can you say when the battery was charged and how often or how many kW of electricity has been getting put into the battery with charges?
  3. What temp do you have the cars interior set to? I watch the various EV car tests or reviews and 'How far do they go vids'. The latest is like others. They set the interior temp to be at 21*oC and the car to drive in the ECO setting. I doubt that 21*oC of an interior setting is giving the best of efficiency in Cold weather or Hot weather, say an ambient down at maybe 6*oC or up at around 26*oC. No idea why the cars are not charged and driven as they start as a Default, what ever setting that gives as a Mode. Normal / Drive or what ever. .................. So for me in any vehicle on my own regardless of summer or winter 18*oC is about my max temp requested. If passengers want a higher setting i am usually feeling too hot. But then what ever shirt / jumper/ coat / jacket or what ever i am wearing when out of the car stays on when driving, unless it wet from pithing rain. If it is Winter i am dressed for the conditions, get in the car like that and am ready to get out without needing to put on clothes other than maybe a hat. ............. This winter testing explains better than some about the interior settings / choice.
  4. @somean49 Where did you find what the oil capacity is from an oil and filter change? 3.5 or the 3.6 litres, just the difference of Ooo or Ahhh. But just needs checking once the change done, oil up to normal operating temp and not above area A of the dipstick. (We always have to assume the correct dipstick for the engine is still being used.)
  5. Fantastic. What a useful feature. This with the ability to stop the theft of vehicles with keyless entry. & Maybe they can introduce technology that alerts the owners / keepers that a Service Technician has been alerted to come change a timing belt in a timely manner now that the Service / Replacement schedules are being reduced
  6. @somean49 What is the engine, is it a 2010 1.2 TSI Euro 5,. chain drive and is it a 3.6 litre oil capacity not the 3.5 ?
  7. Welcome. @Carlston will be able to help on wheels, offset ect. What are the actual tyres you are being offered? Speed / load rating as well. (Do you need to be carrying Snow Chains where you are going?)
  8. Any more Compulsory Safety Features being introduced as being Compulsory at manufacturing will make the vehicles offered be them electrified or not less appealing to many drivers and just accepted by possibly the majority. New drivers getting into the latest vehicles right from their tuition and then getting their first vehicle might not even care about stuff. There are going to have to be manual vehicles available for those taking a driving test and wanting to be able to drive manual or auto. I know nothing about driving tests but are they caught up with e-brakes, autohold and learning to use and drive with these or manual parking / hand brakes?
  9. Welcome. Holding it in M5 might well be the reason it is behaving as it is. Even though you are doing it just to show us what is concerning you. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/439395-the-stpry=of-the-famous-dq200-clutch-slip
  10. I would not want to keep the engine oil in 'long time mister' if the engine was only firing up for the odd 5 minutes several times a day or a week & never getting up to heat if the car was a keeper. (or owned not leased.) Then there is the OPF. But if the engine runs seldom the Air Filter will be a look see and change as and when needs must. It is a real pity if a Battery can not have a 'Certification' on its State of Degradation, and an Engine its Mileage running logged.
  11. ^^^ &? The voting public voted in the last governments and then this one. So we are where we are until we are not.
  12. ^^^ Absolutely. Or any miles. (The Media / Government seem to think because a PHEV cable in the boot has never been un-wrapped / used that the car was never being charged. totally ignoring the car was maybe used on a charger with a tethered cable, or a 3 pin cable or something else.) Many will not want to touch 'High miles' PHEV,s with someones else's barge pole. The Engine hopefully has a miles / km / hours counter. & record of the Time / hours run like a generator or plant has.
  13. How much fuel you put in the tank gives a pretty good idea how often the engine will be running, and how much electricity you use charging the car. As it is the Oil still gets changed annually or at 9,600 miles on a Fixed Regime, & the spark plugs every 40,000 miles or so, even if the car only ever uses 1 tank of petrol in a year and has done the 9,600 miles on electricity.
  14. The New UK Government 80 days in can not get it's crap together. Lets see how things go with a Winter of Discontent, a few thousand car factory workers striking, transport workers striking, the energy companies, utility, oil and gas have a wee flaky and Sir Jim Ratcliffe & Sir Ian Wood, Lord Bamford / family, and others throwing spanners in the works. Nissan & BMW / MINI and others will be telling the Liebour Government what they are wanting. Lets not forget that everything the UK needs that is not already here comes in mainly by sea or by air, and some maybe under the sea. Rule Britannia, Britannia Rules the waves, or thinks it can, but can not secure the seaways of the world, or even the seas around the British Isles. Or the interconnectors.
  15. ^^^ New rules. still only September of the first year. So lets get to the end before guessing. Nobody has nailed anything yet on 2035 or 2030, because like the Average Emissions targets, then the Euro 7 introduction sh!t happens. World Wide pandemic, chip shortages, a war in Eastern Europe which is not a war but a Russian Military action. Lets see if there is a war in the Middle East, disruption to oil and gas, a Oil Refinery or 2 shuts in the UK. There are draughts in South American Countries, water shortages, so Hydro electricity shortages and Oil or Coal generation of electricity needed. All the world or the UK needs is rationing of anything, materials, minerals, energy or cheap labour. .................. Hungary holds lots of cards. Putin,s cards as the Gas goes through there to other EU Countries. Lots of car parts and vehicles are manufactured in Hungary, German Companies cars and Parts.
  16. @Graham Butcher what you know or not know or remember is down to you. As it is the EU lets certain things just slide. Close but no coconut, and maybe no fines..
  17. TESLA and MG are exceeding the 22% First Registrations of zero emissions vehicles in the UK are they not? PS. Car manufacturers have been selling cars to themselves for decades then selling them as used. Manipulation sales figures and the market including used cars. VW group and others are money lenders and in the pyramid selling business.
  18. MG / SAIC is not the ones that are going to fail to have 22% of first registrations in the UK are they. They are VW,s partner for the Kidology. Is it not VW Group that is going to pay for the discounted sales / leasing of MG,s?
  19. I missed seeing any news stories until now on the trial having started of the Engineers Engineer who was selectively deaf dumb and blind and never knew that minions were doing naughty stuff. Odd that the VW Board are not on trial.

You make your choice, you pay your money and BMW / MINI and the DVLA say you have a HYDRID, not a almost a hybrid or a little bit hybrid. Its just how they roll, and you get a boost when you need it and the car coasts a lot and they get the WLTP & RDE2 results and if you get good real economy then it can't be bad.
  21. @PetrolDave Did they really not fit the GPF in time for the introduction of the WLTP and not till 2020? My bad, I thought that was very much what the co-ck up in 2018 was with the new engine management and the Kangerooing issue and issues and now more recent issues / cutting out.

When you can not select more regenaration you can usually manually select a lower gear, that was what i missed. As for the Gear Selector, it is the same on the MINI EV,s as with the Countryman. (I seriously dislike the New MINI Electric in both power and battery sizes but i did discover where the amount of Regen can be selected in a menu.) The term Fully Hybrid is a misleading one, i take it you mean that as being a PHEV rather than these Mild Hybrids which are Hybrids, Full Hybrid really, just not Plug in and charge.
  23. Guest_ replied to Expatman's topic in Skoda Yeti
@Expatman I expected more of a possibility to have slowing down with regeneration with a mild hybrid or phev as with many others be it through the motor or gearbox and being able to select the level of regen or just select a lower gear. I drive DSG,s or any auto ICE vehicle with my one foot pretty munch like one pedal driving. With a DSG in town maybe just dropping back into S and only touching the brake pedal to come to a complete halt. PS As to the NEW MINI, there is the New UK built MINI Petrols on the old platform 1.5 or 2.0 litre in 3 or 5 door, or the New MINI Electric built in China on the Great Wall Motors platform. They are low, but the seats are lower on the Petrol / UK built cars. Then the Aceman is the Higher and bigger car but only comes as an EV and only 3 doors.
