@huxdra are you going to share details of your Kodiaq? Like the year / build date, which engine / gearbox, miles / km covered?

Cambelt change - straightforward?
Owners choice on when to do. VW Group could not care less once cars / engines are out of the Manufacturers Warranty & T&C,s.

Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
Tried on the 17" wheels and All Seasons but back to 16" and narrower for a bit of a softer ride. And better in the wet.

VW ID. Buzz
Now there is a GTX. Lots of money. Lots of ID Buzz vans on the road now, and the first of the passenger vehicles. Maybe going to be a choice of 'much cheapness' ones in a year or 3. http://

Goodbye to Yeti
@Expatman What MINI Countryman is it, a 1.5 hybrid? Nice fast acceleration... Very grabby brakes (too grabby), i no longer use brakes really as used to as i one pedal driving EV,s mostly now using regen braking. Having no Paddles or a gear shifter to decelerate was just not something i can live with. I hope you that was a good long test ride on different roads. Last week i had one for less than 24 hours. The 25 mile drive home was enough to have me back in agony. The seat was rock hard compared to the leather seat in my MINI hatch which might be low but a joy for long trips. (& sitting in the car while charging.) Instead of taking it for a nice long run before taking it back as it could have been with me for 2 days i took it back the shortest route the next morning. Terrible seats. Cheap rubbishy starter, gear / drive selector, no paddles for reducing speed without needing to use the brakes, a hard crashy ride, and the worst thing the centre touch screen and controls almost out of reach of my finger tips. I have my seat quite far back. That meant the B pillar blocked view to my right at T junctions or off set junctions.

the truth about electric cars
I got BP pulse free subscription from Motability instead of a charger. What crap charging experienced. That video taking about Motability. 83% sales increase year on year. Impossible. That can not be Motability UK being discussed.

the truth about electric cars
Tesla charging or Tesla non Tesla is not double the price of petrol. Anything like 40 pence a kWh and 3.5 miles a kWh is 10 kWh for £4.00 or 20 for £8 and that is taking you 70 miles. 4 miles a kWh then 80 miles for £8.00. you are going to be at 80 pence a kWh charging to be double the price of petrol in the UK are you not? Typical EV and 3.3 miles a kWh. Sloppy use of typical. Then ultra rapid. Typical EV,s might only Rapid charge, as in 50 kW max. Or can charge at 100 or 100 plus kW. More newer TYPICAL EV,s. That might be. Bigger battery ones that might well be getting charged less often on a journey.

Tyre pressure warning light will not reset
The system on the Fabia and nearly all Skoda was and is as was introduced to warn BMW drivers and others that might not even notice a Run Flat tyre had a puncture decades back. It knows nothing about Pressure. Just the circumference of the tyre and rotations. Then once logged if there is enough of a change. That is not only a loss of pressure. The system can detect an increase in diameter and this is when some think they get a false reading. Bearing going or brake binding and the hub and wheel getting hot and the air in the tyres and the wheel expending. The system might be simple, but checking pressures and resetting the TPMS is as well. All tyre pressures do not need to be the same. Or even tyre size. You can fit the odd one out spare, reset the TPMS and not get a warning.

Spring Mystery
They certainly never fitted Rubber Band / Low profile tyres as with a Monte Carlo / vRS on 17" wheels. The extra clearance over a 'Standard' Fabia estate, & not Greenline or MC/ VRS is not much. @Carlston should be able to provide the Spring codes.

Skoda UK CEO
I would drop a line, email etc to the Head or PR & Communications and ask why they are so crap at communications with the buyers of Skoda,s in the UK new or approved used.

Which gearbox?
@tomwoods Let the Motorfactor or Supplier supply the correct oil for your 6 speed wet clutch DSG for your 2014 4x4 if it is a DQ250. ? Are you doing your own service?

Fabia Edition specs launched
@VAGCF A car thief and not just a thief that gets wants a car can drive ones away with or without keyless entry. Disabling the alarm quickly can matter depending on location and the immobiliser is what they know how to deal with. Many a stolen car is not being driven anyway, it is getting put on a lorry or trailer. If someone is after a Skoda. I expect more Mk1 Fabia will be stolen then Mk 4,s & not because Security is less with the older cars.

- the truth about electric cars
Just drive one of the many millions of ICE vehicles that there will be available in the UK. Especially as you do not buy new cars. You have a 7 year old car now anyway. Maybe as good as cars come, or maybe by 2030 if wanting a car you can buy a pre Euro 7 ICE vehicle. It does look that Hybrids / electrified cars will be available to buy and first register for longer than just pure ICE cars.- Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
OT, but. There will be people in world regions not only not taking their pager or 2 way radios with them when going out but also not travelling by EV.- An Oil Problem?!
VW Group have said thr same for decades about 'May use 0.5 litres / 1,000 km / 621 miles.' condition dependent, for all engines 3,4,5.6.8.10.12 cylinder petrol or diesel 44 kW up and 2.8 litre oil capacity up. It is just to cover their arse. You are not in extreme weather towing over Alpine Passes while just keeping to the speed limits solo in the UK.- the truth about electric cars
Re more efficient engines / vehicles. VW group have an issue. Their usual. They were more interested in test results than driving behaviour or longevity. They need to get a grip of the problem too many are having with 1.5 TSI ACT,s even very new ones. It is not driver error if they cut out or misbehave. Then there is the failing MCU,s with DQ381 DSG,s. Sorting their sh!t out is Simply Clever.- VW Up GTI tyre options - borrow from Citigo?
Surely (Shirley) that is not the size they left the factory with. He knows 15" fits then and like 14" does not.. Up! GTI will be needing tyres with an appropriate speed rating even if the can never goes above 70mph. A set of All Weather 15' tyres should be good. There is about as much sidewall with the size fitted.- the truth about electric cars
Headlined all papers. Norway more EV,s than petrol. Guardian etc. world service radio programme. Business news about 4am this morning. Ps. September 25th for the EU vote on the tariffs for cars from China I read.- the truth about electric cars
There was stuff during the night on the radio about the percentage of EV,s registered now in Norway and just how much tax relief was given to get to this. Just how much the Government were wanting it and the charging infrastructure in place. How much the fossil fuel vehicles are taxed. There is just a half arsed drive to zero emission private cars or the much of Europe / EU / UK. 25% of BEV,s into Norway are from China. As to the Hybrids they are all good and well but as is pretty much the case only as long as people do keep charging PHEV,s. PS, fleets, company card, hire and agency owned, nhs, etc and how many older ones of those are more to do with 6 years or older getting replaced by BEV,s, and the light commercials. Private owners are then split through many classes, income groups. Statistics are just that. At what numbers are cars scrapped every year?- VW Up GTI tyre options - borrow from Citigo?
So smaller wheels and less low profile tyres. More sidewall. ? What size wheels and tyres are on now? 16" or 6.5jx 17. What size does the owners manual say is required if fitting Snow chains? Maybe 5 1/2J X 15, 185/55 R 15. As to the front discs, what size of wheel is required as a spare wheel, do 15" steels fit? @Carlston might be able to help.- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
Midnight the car did not start charging and at 10 past I went out and unlocked the door and charging started. Locked it again. Charged to 100% and 110 miles. 14kWh. Display in the house shows 14.5 kWh and £4.98 so the 30.7 pence a kWh and not 6.9 and the 98 pence it should be. ?would that be the display just not having the 2 tier pricing? Emailed them.. EDIT, sorted. (hopefully.) They needed to send update to meter / home display. Will show in 24 hours. Box left unplugged in till 10.30 am Thursday.- Consistent coolant loss
When there is not a leak, and the OP knows there is. Coolant can set its own level. There is no FILL to THIS LEVEL mark. As long as it does not go to MIN then it does not need to stay at MAX. Once it puts extra out the overflow if that is all it is then mark that level with a marker. If it drops then find the reason. PS. Always best find why leaking rather than use Radweld. Unless you are Kerb Side Autos. The OP knows where the leak is.- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
The very good indicated efficiency from the weekend lasted just until the weather got lots hotter and over 15 *oC to over 20*oC. The AC had to be on a few times. My Offpeak tariff with Eon Next started today and i have had to set for the first time a charging plan on the car to start a charge at Midnight. 35 miles covered since last charge to 100% . Showing 67% now. 61 miles range. That would be 65 without AC on. - the truth about electric cars
