Absolutely nothing wrong with changed 12 year old coolant or assuming it is 12 years old, maybe having tested the strength. ? Can I ask again had the car been given The Fix back sometimes somewhere? The £600 was lots of money. Were brake components required?

What would the system you want to keep the speed down differently from you will need to. What is wrong with you taking control of the vehicle and you slow the car down, gear changes or brakes since you know down from up.

'A coolant flush'. That strikes fear in me right away. Was the coolant really needing changed and a flush carried out.

Reverse up incline
@MisterSkoda Handy if you say what your Superb is. Reversing a 1.6 TDI with a DQ200 DSG is a different story from a 3.6 DSG 4x4 if that is what you have.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
Still waiting on the car coming round to me for an hour now but that is ok. Spoke to the Tech. He says nothing to do with the battery, no battery inspection, just a software update of the Screen, satnav etc. Fair enough. They have not charged it. BUT I am looking at the car,s state of charge. 80% and 120 miles of range. When I dropped it off it was @80% and 82 miles of range. Later I will know if any change noticeable of any difference or significance. EDIT> PS. What has happened with the Software Update is as happened with the Corsa Electric. The New car might come with a Quesstimate with a 100% battery charge and the Battery Capacity (not the usable capacity.) with 4.5 miles a kWh. How they probably have them getting the WLTP figure. So the 80% showing 120 miles will have been based on 4.5 miles a kWh. (Not the 3.6 was getting when i dropped the car off.) that was 100% showing 105 miles and 25 miles later showing 82 miles. working on 28.9 kWh usable, 3.6 miles a kWh.. that was that. Coming home i do have an indicated 4.2 miles a kWh on the car. But 25 miles later it is showing 63% / 71 miles. 80% - 63% = 17% used for 25 miles. The run home is more efficient for regen. 71 x 25 = 96 miles not the 120 based on 4.5 miles a kWh. But the 71 miles showing and the 50 miles return trip is 121 miles. I will charge to 100% tonight, see what it takes in kWh and what range shows tomorrow.

The My MINI App for my Mini is brilliant. Better even than the My Vauxhall one was. I know the cars location in the BMW Service Compound, it is inside. The bonnet and drivers door, drivers door window open. passengers, hatch and sunroof closed. The car was last moving at 9.32 am. PS / EDIT. 10.30 all done. Technician changed the front wheels side to side for me as i was running them in the wrong directing for grip last time i was at a Hill Climb. Getting washed and vacuumed. That will do until next July and it's Service / Brake Fluid change.- MK2 Fabia DSG gearbox service
@rob84red Welcome. Whoever told you your DSG was way overdue a Service does not know what DSG the car has. The DQ200 DSG your car has has no Service Schedule or Interval for changing Oil or a Filter. There are 2 oils. In the MCU and the Box. (They can be Changed, but there is no schedule and 40,000 miles does not apply to them.) Did your car even get the Recall Action / Service Campaign from 2014 on 2010-2012 DQ200,s. '34F7', The Oil changed from Synthetic to Mineral and a Software Updare. There should be a sticker in the Spare Tyre Well showing if done. Date & Dealers Stamp.- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
Just a quick review on the New Mini Countryman 1.5 Petrol Hybrid Automatic. Drives well, goes and stops. Suspension / tyres give a very hard / crashy ride. That screen in the Middle. What a load of sh!te IMO. Even worse than in a NEW MINI COOPER because so far to the left compared to the smaller car. A Flat screen that has so much small stuff on it, and for me right handed not easy to touch to make adjustment to the temperature. (Angled to the driver would help, but then it is there for left or right hand drive cars and probably more suited to a passenger using.) Thank goodness for the Head Up display for the speed even though there is a huge speed showing in the middle. Even the physical buttons are tiny with tiny symbols. The B pillar is a totally blind spot trying to look to the right at a T Junction if you sitting not just able to see directly right. Actually visibility to the side & rear is pretty crap and to the front left kerb, tight corners. Seat very hard and uncomfortable. I usually think that people moan too much about scratching plastics as they are where you do not touch. Well where you do not touch has the odd recycled knitted type materials and where you might touch like between the seats, arm rest, storage is scratching noisy, rattly plastic. Basically not my cup of tea. No thank you in any form, ICE or BEV. The last Countryman was Fugly but the ones i was in were a joy compared to the one i hopefully hand back today. No idea of the economy as i an not wasting time looking for where it shows. It had 1/2 a tank when i got it and i will still £10 of petrol in and that should be enough for 60 miles driven. I did put it in GoKart Mode, the crazy noise meant i tried taking it out just to hear again how bad that was, Now after starting a few times i never bothered with GoKart mode and left in the default. My MINI Electric steering wheel controls and the wheel is so much nicer than this New Countryman as are the seats which are leather in my car not Plastic. PS. Driver profile set had thf heating automatically coming on at , 22 degrees and heated seat and steering coming on.. silent ruining on start up and move in hybrid.- the truth about electric cars
Real World UK & Diesels. Not a dissatisfaction with diesel cars. Those that can benefit financially running a diesel do run a diesel, if it is their choice and not their Employers or Fleet manager. It is Fleet, Business, Commercial users and the economics of the running diesels and the BIK, HMRC, etc etc. As far as Private Buyers / Leasing what ever that is a different mater and people are scared away from having a diesel and can see the benefits or believed benefits of a Petrol or a Mild Hybrid or PHEV. Then the choices of small diesels is very limited. Maybe have been stung in the past with Small Diesels when they got them at the time of the scrappage scheme.- the truth about electric cars
Swings and roundabouts. One thing is sure and that is that the Manufacturers need to get a lot of Electric Cars registered in the UK in the next 3 1/2 months.- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
- the truth about electric cars
@Lee01 what will be dodgy about them or more dodgy than ones built in the EU or UK? 1 in 4 EV,s in Europe will be built in China. It is the likes of BMW / MINI, VW Group including Cupra, Tesla, Citroen / DS, Dacia, Lotus, Polestar / Volvo, Smart are having cars built in China.- Fabia 1.5 style
There are posts in sections from members with bigger and quite expensive models that have an issue getting the AC to bring the interior temp 20*oC lower than the outside temp or whatever the interior is at when they get in the car. ? Do you check what the actual temp does get down to inside the car?- Fabia 1.5 style
@Yogev How many km has the car done from new? A blocked pollen / cabin filter can be an issue, but look see. then vacuum the area and shake and vacuum the filter until you fit a new one. I doubt that is an issue on how cold the AC gets the interior. What temperature are you selecting for the cars interior & what is the outside temperature?- 90,000km Service Cost
I think you want to see what actual parts were replaced and how they were priced. Not sure it is a 'FULL Service'. Not a term i use. Full Services are the likes of Timing Belts replaced, brakes serviced etc etc. (BMW Full Services used to replace all fluid and bulbs.) The term Skoda used to be Minor or Interim & Major time about on Fixed Service Regimes. When have the spark plugs been replaced, this time or last? What about the brake fluid? .............................. The sort of pre 2020 Fixed Servicing in the UK.- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
I am changing my tariff with Eon Next from the fixed tariff i have till July 2025 to the EV tariff fixed for 12 months. I only use 5-6 kWh of electricity in 24 hours when not charging the car. I am home charging about 60 kWh a week on a 3 pin plug @ the 22.03 pence a kWh. = £13.21 I can get from Midnight to 7 am about 14 kWh & also pre condition the car so under £1 a half charge of the battery. So 4 -5 nights offpeak charging some weeks. (hopefully not much need to daytime charge at home.) 60 kWh x 6.9 pence. £4.14. Gas heating will be getting turned on shortly . Maybe the offpeak electric will make it worth at times using a efficient oil filled radiator or 2 offpeak. Maybe not much saving but Mony a mickle maks a muckle.- Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
The road is closed a long time. Maybe bad damage to the road. Quite a diversion for traffic for the Ferry port. We will hear if a BEV on fire. Certainly not mine which is going into the Dealers later for it's recall work tomorrow. Glenapp Church is near Glenapp Castle & actually 19 miles south of Girvan and near Ballantrae & Cairnryan which it is between.- 90,000km Service Cost
Which country is that? Have you not asked them what are they actually doing at that service @ 56,000 miles / 8 years (& what has previously been done % when is rather important.) Are they replacing Spark Plugs, Air Filter. Pollen Filter, Oil & Filter & anything else over and above an inspection, brake fluid?- Open/close windows with key fob
Welcome. What trim is your car. Maybe if it can be coded someone can help you. I do not think it can be.- Emmisions "Fix" and Rip Off Britain
- Hot engine
@Hig What did the 'Full Service' consist of. Was there something more than an Oil & Filter change and look see done? ? Was your 1.2 TDI ever in and had 'The Fix' carried out for the VW Defeat Device emissions cheat'. They never took the chance and did it now did they?- Water collecting under door
Point is maintenance required on these cars. H2o in Skoda Model doors common. Warranty T&C,s in the policy do talk about servicing. H20 gathers most in the passenger doors not open. Not really in the drivers door if the car is being used. In places that might have days and night of freezing weather and thawing or people pouring warm water to clear frost from the glass. Parts of Scotland maybe over several days, weeks can result doors having a block of ice in them. - VW ID7 Tourer vids.
