  1. Is the car running the breather the car left the factory with or has it got the 'Fix' / Modification that was fitted to try and stop the excessive oil use. There was also a software update done with that. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/522406-help-required-please There was a 2nd Breather Pipe mod done in Australia. Before they got around to trying the Oil Spray Jet upgrade.
  2. Thanks. Now i understand. Fuelled and reset and just 500 km from that tank. What is a standard 30,000 km service in Australia then, the same as in the UK. A variable / flexible service, 18,000 / 20,000 miles / 24 months, An oil & filter change & look see? Was the oil used to VW508 00 / 509 00 then, so 0w 20 FS IV.? I assume no mention of any Software Update then.
  3. @gumdrop over and above the Service Position do the wiper have 2 park positions that they go to alternatively? Slight different amounts up the screen.
  4. ? What other check is there than visual? Sounds like BS really. £180 including VAT per hour sounds like he likes earning well. How much does a taxi driver earn an hour? How much is the job going to be including parts and how quick does he work? If the car is a Taxi it is the tool of the trade, proper servicing and maintenance is important i would say.
  5. Welcome. Have you filled up again since and got as bad fuel consumption. If so what was what was done, did the car get new spark plugs, air filter and a software update, Oil & Filter. Sitting idling certainly can use plenty of fuel. If idling long enough. How ling was the road test the guy / guys at the shop went on?
  6. @automass Was your mechanic not giving you an expert opinion? What is OK mean, not going to break anytime soon, fingers crossed. Was the long time ago that you posted what Skoda Confirmed before June last year when this came out from Skoda / VW concerning the likes of your engine in the UK.
  7. @Jimbobnob Good that things are sorted out, but you said Full Skoda Service History so had it not been serviced in the past year and was their not the normal 80% worn warning then which is given sometimes when there is hardly any wear, of pads of discs. Maybe time you use a good independent mechanic or do inspections yourself.
  8. Welcome. @Crasher or @ApertureS might be able to advise.
  9. Before he gets to the Porsche's there is a Twin engine Mercedes A Class.
  10. OT. & Not relevant to a Kamiq if no e-brake or no Autohold, but models that do have Autohold have the brake lights on when stopped and aytohold is active.
  11. No idea from listening to that. They have no idea how to fix it, but since they had the car to listen to where did they think the noise emanated from? What is exactly is the car doing as in speed or whatever when you get the noise? What is it a manual or a DSG?
  12. The DVLA only know what Model / Trim / Name a model has because they are told when the cars are First Registered. Which is why often the Model of that vehicle can be wrong when you are insuring and then you are asked what it is. (This has not been sorted for many a year.)
  13. I take it it is a DSG. They can do that so many will have experienced it.
  14. Welcome. How long have you had the car, and is this a new noise if you have had it a good while? Is it a manual gearbox? What do you mean about the noise when you turn the car off? Is this once you have been driving and the engine hot or up to temperature, or even if you just start the car cold and then reverse and turn off the engine? As far as turning off the TDI engine when hot is it a case of just the water pump / fans running on, or a regen happening. When you reverse the Heater / Ventilation system flaps close automtatically, are you hearing this different noise maybe?
  15. Can the Sales Person not really come up with the exact spec of any Ex Demonstrator 'they are selling' and they ordered in the first place . Ex Demonstrator / Ex Management car. So an Ex demo one i take it will 3,000 miles or more, or been registered for 3 months or more? Maybe been a showroom car first, then First Registered as a Demonstrator! Is the website not clear on what you get with a SEL if you order one?
  16. ^^^ The reason for responses like that is because of this lot.
  17. Stirling park and ride. Busy busy as a convoy of motorhomes roll in and fail to understand long vehicle parking is at the other end of the site. 4 rapid chargers. 2 not working. Scorchio.
  18. You might think that VW Group would try a bit harder to satisfy demand for replacement parts quickly especially ones that they used with p!sh poor reliability, they are reducing the production of vehicles and ration what ICE vehicles are being delivered while they make sure they have the 22% EV,s first registered to stop them having to be fined £15,000 on every vehicle because they missed the target. They seem to ignore that the demand for replacement parts like a MCU are because of their Fundamental failures in design, manufacturing, material or workmanship.

The NSL for cars is 60 mph single carriageways and there is a need to signpost the restricted speed and that will be a 30 mph, or maybe as in many places a 40 before a 30 then now in Scotland as 40 before a 20 mph. No need for repeater signs with the 30 built up area. Street lights both sides of road etc. But there is a start point and an end then the NSL sign. As much as it is said no need for a 30 mph, there is at the point it becomes 30. Or 40, or 50, or 70. No need usually for a 60 mph sign though. There is the NSL sign for that. Other vehicles drivers are supposed to know there max speed for road types.

@Paws4Thotlots of main / high street 20 mph limits every day and every hour of the day / night. Tomorrow I will drive on 20 mph main roads in Maybole South Ayrshire, Burrelton & Woodside Perthshire and Forfar Angus. 29 town or villages in Perth and Kinross without enough pavement or lighting.
  21. Is that Arctic Green Metallic? Not that common. Are none showing on eBay?
  22. All in the detail / facts and getting them confirmed. Was there an Authorised Warranty repair carried out by an Authorised repairer.
  23. I have not done much wading in deeper water since the first time I went very deep and there was a loss of dashboard info for a few miles. I have been through fords that are not very deep several times and done hundreds of miles in torrential rain. I do hope the car is needing kept a few days and not just 1 and I get an interesting MINI courtesy car and not just the same as I have. If with me more than a day it will be going on a road trip.
  24. That was an interesting call I received. My car booked in next Thursday. Courtesy car arranged to collect Wednesday. The thing is she told me the recall is not the Battery and water ingress issue. She has not heard of that. It is not a Brake issue, anything to do with cars being held back from delivery, new or already on the road used cars. It is a BCM recoding and the car needed in for the day. We will see then if a simple case of into their workshop. Technician does their stuff, a matter of minutes or maybe as long as the update takes. Or anything like my Corsa Electric was when with Arnold Clark and not enough band width in the workshop on a working week day and needing the job done on a Sunday. Ps yes they can do a wash and interior valet I will empty my crap. They can do an inspection video on condition. The RAC never picked up on the Motability car having Contact Dealer messages because I have no TPMS sensors on the wheels.
