  1. ^^^ Good. Seemingly now 80% of them have these now.
  2. There was a Dolly in the back of the van for recovery with the front wheels on when the responder was at the car.
  3. DSG / Do not tow it with the front wheels on the road. Get the battery that it shows on the battery test.
  4. That is an issue. There is in the owners manual the instructions for getting it out of P if it gets locked in. There might lay your problem. There are threads on how to get it out of Park & youtube vids, and obviously a RAC responder knows as well, they will be seeing that issue lots as well.....
  5. Ignition coming on and then not turning over with a Mk2 Fabia vRS can sometimes be an issue with the DSG shifter not fully in P. The car can also start in N, so when it moves out of P worth trying in N. Sorry, i missed where you said you had it 15 months. Another issue has been a water ingress one at a connection, sometimes at the Water Pump area and usually with a Water Pump needing replaced. That is also the Super Charger clutch which is when a EPC light sometimes comes up.
  6. A garage that might be telling the truth. It is not unusual. Often those that post here had it happen at airport parking or the like. The Mouse / Rodent deterrents that make a noise do not work IME. Glue traps for rats are being banned, so i assume that is the use of them for mice killing as well. Not that you can put them all around a car. Maybe a car protecting cat is required. a living cat not a catalytic converter.
  7. Just a small point, other than the fault and that message. The DSG does not 'Have to be left only in Park or P'. The car can be started in P or in N as long as the temperature is not below -8*oC, then it needs to be in P. This is because the car might need maintenance, pushed / rolled etc. So it might be wanted in N with the engine off.
  8. My issue is, there is not a EPS light i know of on a Mk2 Fabia vRS from 2010 - 2014. My issue is RAC people talking sh!te. Look in this section from 2010-2024 a see just how many ECU failures there have been. Lots of Mk2 vRS owners and cars have been here in the 14 years. There are less than 3,000 of the cars in the UK. Then the Audi, VW & Seat Twinchargers. ECU failure very rare. There were 3 outer cover ECU,s 2009-2012, then 2 different after that. Locked ones, and ones with security bolts and ones without. We had to open to remap. Some were wrecked or cooked by idiots.
  9. The battery or battery connection, earth might be the simple explanation. But then the RAC Operative checked that did they, not just plugged in read codes and left it at that? Like the one that came out to my Electric Corsa, cleared the codes and said sorted. I said close the door and move the car please. Later that day and after hassle it went on the Recovery Truck with the Rear Wheels locked and the front locked due to the failure not diagnosed. eg.
  10. Your OP says it said ESP. I take it that was a typo you just posted. Really do not remove it yet. The plug can be a cause of issues. As to sending for repair. Who is it going to? @Crasher is a Technician -mechanic. Best placed to assist maybe. Or tell us approx where the car is, there are others here that know the cars.
  11. @Lady ElanoreThe plonker on the Service Reception was a bit taken aback when i asked why i was lied to about my car and where it was and had been. He was un-aware i knew when it was started or when the location changed and i had to show him the MyVauxhall App. With the MINI i have never heard from the RAC since Motability told me they were monitoring Data and would contact me if there were any issues. The 'Contact your service provider' every time i start the car which comes up due to an 'Error' might just not be getting flagged with them. I cancel it each time. It is just because there are no TPMS sensors fitted.
  12. @TonyNew & are you sure it was not the EPC light / Letters, not ESP?
  13. @TonyNew Once you have the ECU removed where or who are you taking it to?
  14. Not much in security bolts stopping the ECU being removed with your ECU from 2010. Do not touch it though. What is actually really wrong? I can not open the link for the report. Your Twincharger might not have the engine now it left the factory with or the ECU it did. Look at the little orange sticker on the drivers side of the engine and the one on the ECU, are they the same 4 figure number. Is the date still readable. Maybe take a picture of the ECU and the Barcode on it. Is there a orange sticker on as well with the 4 digit number?
  15. @Lady ElanoreSome of the members in the Mk4 Octavia section with issues have had other Skoda, same in the Superb Mk3 section. They problems are not only with the PHEVS. Not always the ICE being the problem. Software sadly. The thing VW Group took in-house and ball-sd up. As usual VW dealt first where it was VW,s having the faults, needing actions taken.
  16. Welcome. A mod can move your post to the Superb section where it might get a response. I will flag it for them.
  17. Check for leaks / splits of breathers, intakes. Open the Air Filter box and see the Airfilter is correct and a nice tight fit and the same with the kid closed.
  18. Important changes coming to payments / accounts. Action required to maybe save issues when the change over happens. Arrived in my Junk Mail.
  19. 'Should have leased a 911'
  20. Best they are on and being used then, getting in revenue. Having expenses and overheads and nothing to pay towards that is not the best of business and if someone went to a bank with that as a business model likely in Britain they might get asked. Is that all you want, here have more money and then be sure to have a crap maintenance schedule.
  21. @domhnall Your videos are educational and a great help to people and an indication how far they can maybe go and how to charge if they drive the way you do and use chargers the way you do. Sadly many just get an EV and deal with sales people or their Fleet Managers or whatever and learn 'On the job' or from others Social Media / Vlogs etc. From Journalist / Vloggers that get a loan car and can not even use a car from 98% to 10% and see how far they really go. When parts of the A77 are closed quite often with Planned and unplanned road works and accidents and diversions are long there are plenty that want to charge before arriving at the ferry port and not drive beyond it to charge and then drive back the couple of miles. The road is the issue and people expecting because there are chargers that they might work. Now with the tariffs and penalty it looked like the Turnberry, Girvan or Ballantrae chargers might not have cars locked in for many hours. Sadly it looks like it might be quite a while before the Girvan Charger is back in service. The Dowhill Farm charger is 55 pence a kWh and i will use that now if available. Those towing their caravans to go to Stranraer for the curling or whatever are often getting squeeky bums and needing a charge before leaving Girvan. Even the SWARCO Employee that lives near Ballantrae charges in Girvan before heading home if needs must just because his local charger might be off or occupied. The Community EV,s need charged in Girvan as well and they can tie up the chargers. Time for maybe an update / upgrade of the charger site.
  22. E10 in UK Unleaded petrol with up to 10% Bio-ethanol. Maybe much less. 95 ron minimum. E5 in the UK might have up to 5% Bto-ethanol. Might have 0% bio-ethanol. 97 ron min at some sellers & 99 ron at others. The amount of Bio-ethanol might not just be at different brands, but in different regions of the UK. Trying various is simple, but at least try and know what you are buying. And you petrol engine should run just fine on 95 ron E10 so any Dealership staff saying wrong fuel do not use supermarket stuff is just a Rodney. E5 might help but first have car running correctly.
  23. If the person is the Tech or Master Tech that says 'There has been issues with low mileage engines doing this', be sure to get their name and actual job because i am sure there will be those having the issue of you that might want that information incase they need to raise some action against Skoda / VW Group. If it is a Service Manage, Service Desk Staff or Sales Executive get their name as well. All good for anyone dealing with Skoda / VW.
  24. For people to be help you are going to have to say what engine the car has. Then maybe when serviced last, if a petrol when were the spark plugs last checked or replaced.
