  1. @Graham Butcher Simples really. I watch the video,s and listen and remember. The amount of times he needs charging before heading off is numerous. The miles off route is a PITA. But really this does not apply with the big car, the big battery. It is the planning to arrive at places with poor charging for the sake of the agenda in many instances. I wonder how many views he will get of trips in a 911 just filling up at filling stations and driving till the next fill up! Do 40,000 miles in a car in 2 years and really it is not much of your brain cells used to remember to unlock the car to get the charger head out. The struggling a bit to pull it out is really taking the p1th for the audience. PS I have all the time in the world and can come on the forum while charging, as working people are often doing while repping around the country in EV,s. Not forums, calls, appointments, paper / screen work, and maybe eating. As to the eating and drinking in places with ridiculous prices at every charge stop, that might be for people that like that sort of thing. Is The MacMaster ever actually in a hurry during the driving the EV & filming to make videos which is part of his freelance work. Income.
  2. How many fatalities are there in UK ambulances that have caught fire? How many in Police cars in the UK? BMW diesels or others.
  3. Well it is for those wanting a charge before getting to the Ferry at Cairnryan or anyone actually traveling and needing more than the 2 11kW chargers in town or the 8 7kW. If they have passed the one at Turnberry which is unreliable or one at a farm shop there is one more heading to Stranraer. Plenty there. This is a trunk routes. A77. Pathetic coverage and now a minimum £5 to charge. If you want 10 kWh in to see you on your way that will be an hour or more to get in maybe 30 miles worth. Assuming others are not plugged in for up to 6 hours. There are several wind farms within sight, and others a few miles further away. No electricity shortage just a lack of Battery storage and rapid and ultra rapid chargers.
  4. One thing is the steering assist might have been increased if there was hand controls or adaptions fitted. Possibly returned to factory setting. Many Motability cars do not get reset though. Only made aware if they feel the steering is light.
  5. All weekend now sitting there and still no recovery . Only now are CPS showing the charger as unavailable ..
  6. Mail on line, running an article, yes they can get statistics. They have a whole story on an ambulance fire. The one we are talking about. Risks with the gasses carried. They will be carried in the BEV vehicles as well when they are out and about. In Wales 11 years ago there were questions needing answers, and before and since.
  7. @Graham Butcher Small point. He knows that the Osprey Charger down the road is a 50 kW. Pretending to find out is a pretence. If Porsche Charging has increased from 35 pence to 53 pence then fine,. If you are someone claiming back 20% then lovely. If you get 45 kWh in 30 minutes & then 38 kWh in 19 is what you get. Not max speed of charging. One a 150 kW charger and one a 350 kW. (Up to that is!) The not charging to 80% is if you do not need the slowing down that some get, 80-90 or 90-98%. What crap about not going below 20%. Big battery, go below 10% if you know it gets you to a charger. Lower battery, get more in while cheap and get the faster charging speed. It is stuff we know but keeping repeating for affect in a vid is the game here. Loraine Kelly supposedly is playing a character and she pays her taxes and has won against the HMRC that Loraine Kelly' is a Freelancer who "presents a persona" for taxation purposes and should not be taxed as an employee of STV. A theatrical artist. There are a few of those around. A brand not a person. There seems to be much that HMRC might have to work out with Youtubers who seemingly make little per thousand viewers in the UK and are better off traveling distances away from the UK. The thing is you pay on profits after expenses... Latest.
  8. ^^^ Well that is that. Or at work, or free. Or if others pay for the vehicle and the electricity that saves the business money. We know that argument and have done from the first days of this section of Briskoda.
  9. There will be statistics for how many Ambulances catch fire in the UK when in Service, and how many Fire Engines, and Police Vehicles while not involved in a road crash / accident . That will also maybe show Police BMW,s.
  10. A average standard home tariff of 24.05 pence a kWh will get you 100 kWh for £24.50 and if you get 4 miles a kWh then that is 400 miles. If you are only getting 3 miles a kWh then 300 miles. A gallon of diesel @ £7.10 a gallon & 50 mpg is 200 miles for £24.40 Get better MPG, say 60 then 240 miles. Petrol a bit cheaper and a good economy then great. Public charging at 79 pence a kWh, 100 kWh = £79. Porsche getting 2.7 miles a kWh, 270 miles. Crazy. Not if a business user, BIK and claim back VAT on charging. Winners. Moaners maybe. Should have got and paid for a 911. Travel and accommodation / food, and a bit of self employed and freelance and part of the expenses.
  11. Truth if the matter is that in about 70,000 miles of EV driving with very little home charging until the last 7 months i have only sat in and had food 4 times while charging. Mainly because there is no place to eat or drink where i charge. The last time i had a Krispy Kreme and a Coffee at a Krispy Kreme and it was £5.20 about 6 weeks ago. Before that is was at a Starbucks & 2 of us were about £15 for 2 drinks and a pastry. I was not paying. Twice at KFC,s. I live cheap. Eat cheap and take liquid and food with me which is bought when buying food. That used to be buying food while charging cheaply or originally free at Supermarkets. Now that Public charging is so expensive and more than driving an ICE vehicle i will be resuming buying food in shops and not Fast Food outlets of Doughnut Places, Coffee establishments where a cup / mug costs twice the price of the 100 gram jar of coffee i buy.
  12. 'My friends, let's go.' and be schooled on why the value of Tesla shows should stop anyone from getting a Tesla. One might expect that in the 2 years of having that car he might know where Ultra-Rapid chargers are near where he lives / works or where he heads in any direction. ? Does he claim back 20% VAT? Is he a business user as far a HMRC are concerned? Getting BIK? Other than the Car videos, he drives to the ones for Fish & Chips in the car, he does not go by bus, train or bike, maybe carries the equipment, video, drone etc. Insurance as a business user. 79 pence a kWh, £35.44, near 45kWh charged. Taking up a charger others could have used, and because you wanted a coffee! Get on up to your cheaper rate Porsche Chargers. Fill your superfast charging up slip ons oop there, No need to call names. What you see is what you get. A man with style. A hoody, Ray-ban frame, and a 'No mam haircut'. That is, please let a barber do my hair mother.

@NottsIan since @croquemonsieur has no modes putting the DQ200 DSG his 1.0TSI has can only change that the RPM is higher before shifting up, none of the stuff your Sport mode does. When you are in Sport MODE, and then go from D to S what difference is then happening with the DSG, is it no difference? If you are in SPORT MODE, and sitting foot on brake pedal and in D, then move the shifter to S while still stationary what happens to the RPM?
  14. I thought with the first post you knew why the battery drains. The dash lights stay on when the car is switched off and locked. Is that fixed yet?
  15. It probably is having the issues that the 3 cylinder 1.0 TSI,s with a GPF seem to be suffering from. Spark plugs needing replaced before 4 years or 40,000 miles.
  16. Brake Fluid replacement was @ 3 years then each 2. Now on newer cars back to @2 years and each 2. As it was back about 14 years ago. For Dealers income since they no longer get the Gooses Golden egg from Cam belt changes. Henrys Tech could have tested the Brake Fluid for H2o content. They might on their own cars, or friends, or just change it. For customers the SERVICE DESK staff know little about cars. They are employed because of the lack of mechanical engineering knowledge. Some because of poor memory from one customer experience to the next. Everyday is a learning day, each next day they forgot what the learned the day before. Do not expect them to know a DQ381, DQ250 or a DQ200. Even more so a sales executive...
  17. They received training from whoever on behalf of their Employers. Which tells a tale about them. Dealerships downloading info on the radio as far as station listened to was a step to far of information gathering. Also Scotland biggest motor putting through finance checks or applications when the customer did not want finance came back to bight them in their butt. Then there less than secure IT.
  18. Hardly going to call a car a beige shade of grey are they Unless maybe in Belgium or Scotland where a spade is a spade. An the sand is a sand colour. The sky might be grey. Not today though. The Jag -Pace Black looks like neither of those Grey,s when you look at the grey cars for sale. I looked close to see if metallic. not even in the lacquer. it must be the Satin finish.
  19. Say what you like. I say what my eyes see not what yours do. You might me colour blind, or my camera work is poor. Going past it soon if still there. Ps. Jag i-Pace black 90 kW for sale. 2022 models beige. That is a few showing as in Belgium. Around mid £40,000,s. Ps. Ford is Grey.
  20. It is not White. No shade of white. Grey is OK. With a touch of beige. I have a bike downstairs virtually the same colour. And 2 helmets. It is a solid colour. I spotted a Jeep Avenger similar today. Just a darker shade of grey to beige. All about how the light / sky is and the angle of the dangle. Almost Fawn.
  21. Bump for @Winston_Woofcolor is in the eye if the beholder. On a V5 there is one choice that can be made to what something is.
  22. @Winston_Woof I have a white car and was a car sprayer so let's call it the new colour like on the Lotus EV. A sort of pale NHS hearing aid colour. The DC CCS cable has been disconnected from the charger. The car is still there. When the car is recovered I wonder where or who it will get left with. This is the charger that was 6 months out of order waiting on parts. 2 Audi's have been on the AC plugs since early morning. Just as well there are other AC,s in town at centre car park and train station. There are DC chargers 4 miles and 5 miles away. Just single ones though.
  23. There were countries. I hope that corrects it.
  24. Guest_ replied to BTandSid's topic in Skoda Karoq
That is good. But you do not even need to know if the car has driving modes. If you wqnt it to hold on to gears longer then move the shifter to S. If you are in slow creeping traffic and you do not want it shifting 1st , 2nd, 1st then maybe shift back to S.
  25. Quite possible an adaption that was for a Disabled Driver. The First Registered name might be for an individual even though Motability bought the car and then sold at a BCA. Was the first MOT carried our a couple of months before the car was 3 years old? ? Where was the servicing carried out and was it on a Variable Servicing Regime but a service done at around the time of the MOT?
