  1. 1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136kW Twincharger engines 2009-2012 had Fundamental Design, manufacturing or material faults and were discontinued and then built with different parts and software. No comeback for anyone that has one on the 2009-2012 ones. Maybe a rebuild or replacement engine while in warranty, but once that Manufacturers warranty expires you are stuffed. They as in VW Group never accepted there were or are issues. DQ200,s 2009-2012, A Global Recall which excluded Europe. 4.6 Million DQ200,s. The synthetic oil changed to mineral & a software update. In New Zealand where there were only a few hundred they all got a new MCU. In China and a few other world regions they got a 100,000 mile / 10 year warranty. In Australia you have had 3 recalls now. In Europe eventually by 2014 a Service Campaign. Then in 2017 anther Service Campaign on 2013-2015 ones, Accuators, MCU,s leak etc. VW do no admit to Fundamental Design, Manufacturing or material issues. 1.8 TSI - 2.0 TSI Euro 5 issues, zero. 1.5 TSI ACT from WLTP certification time issues, if you still have a sh!te one tough. At least Australia has the Lemon law.
  2. It is very common, and they are very crap parts VW source.
  3. Welcome. I will ask a mod to move your post to the Octavia section.
  4. 90 mph was just non to be bothered with.
  5. ? Does anyone really struggle to see / find the flat part of the sill where it is simply clever to attach the sill guard to?
  6. Welcome. There are threads in the Roomster section and in the Roomster Projects.
  7. Yes, you have the issue likely that is pinned at the top of the section. Just an other 1.8 TSI worn out. Was that oil changes at every 5,000 km? A bit much.
  8. Yes the Brake Fluid heats and cools and H2o might well be absorbed at the calipers, brake hoses, but since the brake fluid is hygroscopic you are as well seeing what H2o content there is at the reservoir. Funnily till 2010 or so it was Brake Fluid first @ 2 years then each 2 years. Then that became @ 3 years then each 2, now we are back to @ 2 years and each 2. All about playing safe with VW Group, or is it easy money / income for dealerships. It is at least bit more towards Servicing & Maintenance than those that say ' have never changed brake fluid ever on any car'. Probably never killed them selves going off a coastal road either or had brake fade doing track days or anything like that.
  9. If a flap of tyre was to get glued down then Black Bostik has been the Kerb Side Auto way, or vulcanising glue. Puncture repair glue. both surfaces left to dry almost. then put together. Bodging R'us!
  10. Good that some what they see. There needs to be more professionals keeping the rest of us safe. Lots have cars and if the Tech / Fitter servicing does not tell the driver stuff then who will? Plenty owners have Used cars and no idea what was done and when like Brake Fluid changed.
  11. I take it they are XL,s. Well the Low Profile tyres and the pressure you run is what it is. As it is buying only 3 tyres and keeping 1 does not make sense. You might get a deal on 4 anyway, better than a pair and a single. The Dunlops are not as hard as Pirelli Zero,s. ? Why not get 4 All Season tyres fitted. Maybe now as winter is almost over the prices might be sensible. (Winter conditions not over here though at near freezing and potential of snow on high routes.)
  12. Exactly. But if you are changing bumpers then likely you will be needing to do paint anyway. How are things like Discs and Pads, and maybe brake hoses? & does it have good suspension parts fitted?
  13. @aaaaplay They do cover paint faults under the Paint Warranty, but not wear and tear on the paint of a protective guard for the cars paint. A Dealership employee is just the Dealership Employee and the Dealership is your agent as well as Skoda,s. They can knock back things, but are they The Warranty Manager for that branch. Their verbals are not worth the paper not written on if they never talked to Skoda. Anyway. Stylee shiny painted protective sill guards are hardly 'Simply Clever', nice when new, but plastic black mat sill protectors makes more sense.
  14. If you want wind deflectors then that is easy. Taking the decals off the side would be the first thing i would do. & change the wheel colour to a Dark Grey Metallic.
  15. Welcome. The car looks good already. Is the engine and suspension standard now as it stands, not remapped, upgraded or modded air intake, suspension or anything else?
  16. Welcome. Was that Skoda / VW Australia denying your claim? What are Skoda CZ actually saying and were they even consulted? Skoda will not have manufactured them. Are Skoda CZ not taking seriously that from their supplier might have received parts not to the spec.? This is if other years, series of cars have ones that are not poorly manufactured. PS Easy job to recolour them and give they a lacquer spraying, but then they are kick strips and someone is scrapping them. Or sand them off and remove the colour & lacquer them.
  17. Welcome. Maybe a mod can move your post to the Fabia Mk2 section.
  18. Not right now. But in the many threads there is plenty advice on how to deal with the seals, unblock the drain holes.
  19. All rather quick really. I could not live with a MINI Cooper Countryman as just too Fugly. Then the BMW also hit all the branches of the ugly tree IMO.
  20. Sorry, missed title.. 1.6 TDI CR. Try http://darksidedevelopments.co.uk For the exhaust.
  21. @thematerfish Welcome. Is it a 1.2 TSI rather than a 1.6TDI? Various companies that sell Tuning parts / Exhausts offer cat back systems for the 1.2 TSI do they not?
  22. People have a tongue and can ask when handing a car over questions. If dumb they can write their question and have the person sign the answer. It is usual to hand your keys over and be asked to sign something. If you do not read what you are signing and do not know the terms / conditions of allowing them to work on your car that is just not 'simply clever'. If the condition of your car at hand over and how you get it back matters then have the person that gets the keys look over the car, body and wheels and have them sign the Condition report, as they should be offering to do, not being asked to. This is Dealership,s, National / International companies etc. If you have a mates rate, nudge nudge a nod as good as a wink to a blind HMRC person then who knows, cash in had, no invoice, no receipt.
  23. @Jackthecat Those cars were pretty new, your's is 3 years old. ? How many miles has it done, and is it over 3 years old and out of the manufacturers warranty?
  24. Do they not all request these days that you remove personal property from the vehicle? & then please turn off any videoing equipment to protect the innocent, & clearly untrustworthy employees.
