  1. Maybe not this issue, or just a loose connection or battery terminal then.
  2. All the best and take care.
  3. Check out the issues with the DQ200 DSG with a word search. Briskoda 'position P, start car manually' or something similar. Maybe a simply cheap part replacement. Not the main dealers crazy price quotes to resolve.
  4. Ps. Just looked at Plug Share for Skegness and the pathetic Rapid chargers. Just as I would have if going to Skegness. Took 1 minute. But then not having the range or battery size of a Taycan I need less than an 2 hours on a 11kW AC charger. Unless on empty. Why I chose the vehicle that suits me. Less than an hour on a Rapid, and as we know with Max charging, it is the average charge speed that matters and pull in with the big battery car only half empty and you will not be getting the best speed possibly.
  5. @Graham Butcher I have various Ray-ban Wayfarer framed sunglasses, but not as my reading glasses. They are in a sleeve with a pen. Mobile in the pocket for ZapMap or Plug Share. Both unreliable.
  6. @muddybootsLucky save there. Are you having the independent doing the servicing on your Haldex? Did a main dealer do that last time?
  7. 3 different vehicles managed to get on the chargers in the time that he had a pee and got his Greggs quicker at the BP filling station. Why should the Tesla not charge where they are visiting & why does he not charge more often cheaply at Porsche Dealership charging or at the Ionity ones he often just does not bother going to? ' 'Got to bring my car closer.' Genius,. there are stoppers for the front or rear wheels for which ever way you drive your car into the Charging Bay towards the Charger.
  8. @J.R. Do you have a current address on your Paper Driving licence? The UK paper driving licence used to be handy in some EU countries & i kept mine as long as i could until i needed a plastic one for endorsements. (a ban.) I have been asked by Police officers why my own address was not on the data base, or vehicles not registered at my home address. I told them it is dead simple. I live alone and no point knocking my door to tell me i have sadly passed away in a road accident, and who are they going to contact next of kin or get my body to the University i donated it to.
  9. @Breezy_Pete My impression is the guy goes to lots of effort and into detail. Also that this is the future of ICE vehicles and for Euro 7 emissions would already of happened if the German Manufacturers had not managed to kick that into the long grass for a while. Thinner oil will be getting used before we get to 2035 in Europe i expect.
  10. Maybe you can put off the sound and use subtitles, like deaf people would or people watching vids while supposed to be working. Car manufacturers will do anything to get Test Results for the efficiency they need. Like VW Group and 0w 20 FS IV oil. I had a new Euro 5 Toyota iQ. They used the same 5w 30 FS oil as the Euro 4 model and then owners of the New emissions vehicles were reporting that fuel economy was no place near that that had shown in their published figures and this resulted in the oil spec being changed to 0w 30FS
  11. PS. Skoda Superb drivers are pretty much as bad as those EV drivers in full width ones. All the lights on to the front and not that good at staying on their own side of the road or keeping a safe distance back. They always seem to want to be the lead car and then act like Road Captains.
  12. & there is no 'Inspection' Service, There is the Servicing / Oil & Filters etc. Try asking a Dealership how much an 'Inspection' is with no work done. The setting should be set at the PDI in the UK as the same Days / Miles. Not one annual and one bi-annual. Make sure that Main Dealers 'Inspect the Paint And Body. And make a record of the cxondition. For the 3 year paint warranty, and the 12 year Corrosion Warranty. Then Skoda / VW UK can say there is no record of it having been done. Not that the Warranty T&C,s say it does requires doing. Skoda bumff says part of the Oil& Inspection Services. The old regime, pre 2020, fixed price cars 3-10 years old. At pi55 taking dealerships. (participating.)
  13. Was the car get changed to a Fixed Service regime at the PDI, pre delivery and did you want it done at 9,400 mile. 1 year intervals. The car has Long Life oil from the factory and was set on Variable / Flexible servicing. Best probably with your low mileage, rather than 18,000 / 20,000 miles / 24 months. The dealership can update the service record, knows if there are any Software or Hardware updates required and can do them. Unless your local garage has licenced equipment they can not. The need to be VAT registered and use the correct parts and fluids and you have a record of that, Does your Mild Hybrid Octavia required a Qualified electrified vehicle Technician to work on it? Fixed Service on fixed servicing is very little done.
  14. I am driving the diesel this week. It was showing 220 miles range. I put in £70.50 at Asda and it showed 520 miles. 190 miles later it he as had 500 miles range available. Bl00dy marvelous. Stress free. In 2 weeks I will be using the Electric Mini and first charge from home will be £15.00. 2nd charge likely £10. Maybe another £10, then a £15 charge and home to charge to full will be £6. Not cheap. Not cheaper than the diesel. But how things can be in a small battery EV. Love the MINI on the good driving roads. And when a **** in a diesel is up my jacksy. Or a dic-k head in a Taycan or Tesla that seem unable to stay on their own side of a road.
  15. I was asking about belts really. So easy to bal-ls up the timing. Even on 1.0 TSI without the correct locking tool. I know about pumps.
  16. So people want EV,s. What is all the crap from those that do not. If you do not like Golfing and do not have a few hours to walk around hitting golf balls do not buy clubs or join a golf club. Life is so straight forward.
  17. @Graham Butcher Ahh, Tesla. You never said used Tesla. Used EV,s cover many cars. Like I posted. If you need 200 miles or more and again and again maybe get a Tesla and use Superchargers if you can not charge at home.
  18. All the doom and gloom on here. People do not want EV,s, people can not afford EV,s, the Insurance is Crazy high. The Charging Infrastructure is not good eniugh. The Price of used EV,s has Plummeted, The demand is not there and EV,s are piling up unsold. The Chinese Imports are killing the trade for other imports. Now according to some brokers sourcing EV,s the price is high. What is obvious is the Car Trade and Journalists fall into the same category as Estate Agents, Politicians & Commodity Traders (Politician - Commodity Traders called Nigel.)
  19. They would say that wouldn't they. Their lips move.
  20. @Graham Butcher if you are a 200 mile a day, day after day person then think, get what you need. Not a EV and a 3 pin cable. It is not rocket science. Maybe JUST get a TESLA and use superchargers. Like 200 plus mile every day reps get.
  21. Actually these used BEV,s will need to be offloaded by the Finance Businesses and owners because the Dealers are going to have to supply and sell new ones. The motor trade needs turnover to survive. The thing is that the EV,s that are being handed back were overpriced when first registered because of the grants at that time. So a hit needs taken by someone. We know who that is. Us, Joe Bloggs, the pension funds etc.
  22. Are you talking new, or used or older new. If you want a bigger petrol or diesel and 7 years old then there are BEV,s for similar money. The used BEV buying prices are dropping all the time. Crashing. As to smaller BEV,s. There are loads for much cheapness now. Some maybe worth avoiding. Motability have thousands of BEV,s owned by them and going to BCA at 3 years old. Loads of fleet BEV,s going into the used trade now.
  23. Really business / commercial drivers are a different animal because of plenty incentives, maybe not for them only for their employers. Private buyers/ renters might be able to have there own cost saving incentives like low cost charging. There are social divides within different groups. Business and social use, or just Social, domestic, leisure / pleasure. If the BEV is not for you then Just say no. Life is too short, tomorrow you might be dead.
  24. Next buyer getting a 2 former registered keeper car and they have no idea just how many former drivers. Just from the time with the first registered keeper. The Dealers who do very well with these demonstrators that are Ex management cars that HMRC are very generous because they did 3,000 miles / 3 months supposedly available for potential customers to drive. Usually some staff or member of the families daily drive though.
