  1. It was fine tuned to get the low emission / WLTP results under testing. Not necessarily to suit drivers. The issue about you having your own Mapping / engine management is voiding the warranty. OK if your car but not if leased.
  2. With the LEZ Glasgow you have to meet the rules for the vehicles or you are fined. No getting away with a small payment to have a non compliant vehicle in the LEZ. There are exceptions for some.
  3. The DQ400-e is 6 speed like a DQ250 but very different being fitted to a 1.4 TSI & a Hybrid motor. S will hold to a higher rpm than D. I think what you describe is pretty much as they are.

    0w 20 FS IV is VW508 00 / 509 00. The correct oil for your car on Fixed or Variable servicing. VW508 TSI,s. VW 509 TDI,s even if on Fixed Servicing. VW504 00 / 507 00 was not the correct oil. 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III VW504 TSI, VW507 TDI,s.
  5. @Graham Butcher It is good that when stop / start is operating that there is nothing to smell. I still do not see why the supposedly low or non polluting vehicles running ICE,s can not just redirect the tail pipe back into the car then, or to a tank in the car that can be taken home and those with off street parking could unload it into their home. All nice fresh non polluting air. Gather all the stuff and recycle it regardless of how powered. Carbon Capture. Hand it back into the filling station or tyre an exhaust centres. It all came from the ground, there is no place else to get stuff, put it back in the ground. Life & death is so simple, just like people. is
  6. Because they can and did. As long as the code is right, then the paint applied matches that is all that matters.
  7. @EnterName or let them sniff my tailpipe. Is that it? 1 hour to get through Glasgow ok n motorway today. Very much traffic with engines running a few hundred yards away from the LEMZ.
  8. Opt out. Walk or cycle or scooter. But do not go on about price of footwear or choice. Or push bike or push scooter or electric. Or wind up watch , battery / solar. Flat Vs house. Tent Vs caravan or motorhome. Hotel / resort Vs Cruise. Everyone has opinions and choices in the UK. Rich country, lots of pollution..
  9. BEV,s are in the hands of many business users, and people like Nurses, Carers, Home Helps, Social Workers, Emergency Workers, taxis, couriers, trades people, fast food deliveries, chemists, so Fleets, Lease Companies and owned by Motability Finance. Just cars used by employees or those that opted for a BEV or got landed with them. Then those that want to own or lease them. They are what they are, if you do not want them or can not afford cheap ones then just say 'No'. ............. I doubt any member here is a Trader in Minerals / Metals or speculate in world markets so you just need to see what reason might show on Social Media, Media or business news. There might be various reasons given. Depends who tells you.

  11. ^^^ Not for you then. Long story short.
  12. My last 6 Rapid and Fast charging sessions for the MINI electric have been under 40 minutes on 50 kWh chargers to get 20-22 kWh charges to 96 & 100 %. 46 minutes or 37 minutes. 2 hours 16 minutes 41% to 100% on the AC, and this afternoon 16 minutes for 2 kWh to get to 99% for tomorrow morning. The AC needed because the nearby Rapid is out of service. Around about 7*oC temp and the car shows 107 miles or so range and will do that and a bit more. I have paid nothing for the charges since 400 miles ago when it was £13.00 I might have another similar trip like this at this cost & then from next month it will cost as much as using a Petrol or Diesel if not actually more. Re 6 hours driving, maybe 300 miles in any vehicle in the UK. That is fine, maybe people do not need a pee a poo of grub in 6 hours. Or even 7.
  13. The same with this. Biosphere Bike Project Girvan and in South Ayrshire and a days Electric bike hire is £25. From the Bike Library £30 a month for the Electric and £10 a month only for Push Bikes. PS. The Biosphere thing is much more than just the bikes in Galloway and Southern Ayrshire, dark skies etc. UNESCO
  14. Bike returned and full refund. Now bike leased @ just £30 a month for 3 months. Bike library.
  15. The shale bings have almost gone. The coal mines and other mines are not cleaned up but looks like will now be used for thermal energy. The open cast mines are being cleaned up. The nuclear still has to be, reactors and nuclear deterrents reactors. What a bunch of mucky pups the population have been for the past century and longer. All while getting cheapish energy...
  16. Anyway up at Kishorn, Nigg, Aberdeen and other ports and sites they will use green hydrogen for lorries, plant and various vehicles as they ramp up hydrogen production from the plentiful electricity. If Aberdeen council is paying too much for fueling cars then they will no doubt be pulled up on the that. The Tories MP,s could be the very people to do that.
  17. 150kW chargers are being installed now by councils. The 125 kW at Wallyford were the first I used when I could with the car that could charge up to 100 kW. Dundee has them. Today I was stuffed when I could not get the single 50kW charger started. I thought I needed to head back 10 miles to get charged for early tomorrow but tried what was supposed to be a 22 kW charger that never ever gave 7 kW or even 3.6 over the past years. I was surprised it worked. So started at 2.20 pm at 41% and it says I will be at 100% at 5.45 pm. Probably full by 5.30. if this stays as is and the other AC,s in town stay reliable I do not have to bother from April when the minimum charge is £5 if that is just with Rapids. Surely this is not going to apply to fast chargers or those with hybrids or need a few quids worth at 37 pence a kWh are being hammered. PS. At 93% / 95 miles so heading back to get car. PPS. 41-100% was 22kWh taken.
  18. Pumped hydro storage, battery farms, home and workplace battery storage, hotels with battery storage. Vehicles used to store electricity in there batteries. All these things happen now and just need expended on. The generating of the electricity has been and is still simple enough. It is just really a case of use it, maybe producing hydrogen when there is over generation and storage. All the other stuff can happen if it ever does.
  19. Water pump was not a requirement by normal schedule but as long as just routinely done that's ok.
  20. ?what does the full service history show as being done. Were the spark plugs replaced, air filter, brake fluid, and the VAQ diff serviced as per Guidelines, recommendations, specification or schedules.

I wanted a folding e-bike i could take in the MINI Electric if using a slow charger rather than staying with the car at Rapids for up to 40 minutes so tried a few recently but today tried one of these and it was just what i was after and ordered one.
  22. @EnterNameWell you need to fire up coal occasionally because you might not have enough to make the tea. EDF has a nuclear power station in Scotland that can power 75% of the homes but does not as the electricity is not required often. England needs those small Modular Nuclear Reactors, and the Diesel Farms, & Coal and still pays more importing from overseas than it will to get Electricity from Scotland just incase that Scotland might split away. The Southern part of the UK and where the most live need to realize just how supported they are from others. Lovely having wealth to buy goods and imports, but as it is maybe time you have some of your own food, energy etc available. Energy and food security.
  23. You are just not quite that bright really to understand AdBlue and the urea and rumours. Wind and **** is in abundance here,
  24. Since the UK is an Island Nation or 4 and the Poo & Pish needs processed to go back on the land or to the sea why is the technology already available not used for all off it to produce energy? Because the Oil & Gas and Nuclear & Coal want to take the p!ss is why. Just like the Water & Sewage companies. Take the profits, sh!t all done for the environment. PS Problem with Growing Crops for Fuel is that England can not feed it,s self. The waste from Crops can produce Gas, the rubbish tips can, that can produce electric. It does local to me. There are Farms now putting Gas into the Grid, and places with Battery Storage being built near these places and near the solar & wind farms. Once England stops thinking and blocking the technology already available then you might advance to net zero, but sadly the issue is the Government & Oil & Gas & overseas Wealth Funds. & some MP,s and Peers with their investments in the old technologies.
  25. Aberdeen wants to be a Hydrogen City and is spending many millions. Plenty Electricity produced nearby sand Hydrogen can be. & brought by Interconnectors from the Northern Islands. What a pity they can not heat the Public Swimming Pools, Leisure centers of freeze the Ice Rink. They back the Electric Bike loan, hire, lease schemes, last minute deliveries etc. What a pity about how often the weather is pretty crap.
