  1. I would go buy one of these as all the car & more than i would ever need to see out my driving years.
  2. Most of us just drive the thinks and expect some sort of Corporate responsibility and honesty from manufacturers. CEO,s and spokespeople's actual Engineering qualifications might be Zero, unlike Martin Winterkorn who was the Engineers Engineer and turns out as a reason for not being responsible was fooled by junior engineers. Vorsprung durch technik. 'Das Auto' Selectively Deaf Dumb and Blind. The Head of VW North America 2007- 2010 was Stefan Jacoby, predicted to take over as the head of VW who went to head Geely, than headed GM Global. (Maybe even the whistle blower.) Also laterly McLaren Group. Started at VW, part of tye family, went to Mitsubishi, back to VW. Insider / Consultant, Cuckoo in the nest.... Martin Winterkorn, the Engineer that looked at every other manufacturers products in minute detail but never noticed the Defeat Device / software bought from Bosch that others sneaked into the TDI,s he signed off. They were caught cheating after the billions into R&D Audi Diesel Hybrids Endurance racing. Now we get Fat / Heavy complex PHEV or Mild Hybrid Diesels from them. Premium prices and all about the WLTP regime results more than actual efficiency real world and fuel / energy saving.
  3. @Watsons The car you traded in has a cracked roof they say. Who valeted your car and how long or many miles before you handed it over. Did the Sales Executive not inspect your car they were buying, is that what you are saying?
  4. @petrolcanyou surely (Shirley) look at how many litres go in or try to stop on a whole number or to the £1 or 50 pence. No idea how much fuel between 900 miles?
  5. ^^^ Well you say they have no oil, but then i could link the Video of Kate changing oil on a Tesla. Which members claimed they had no oil? The gadgy says that fire risk is putting people off, (hesitating) like range. Well is it really, and as for 66 2022 vans recalled, holy camoly. So were these on trial? Was that their total production? Were the Chevy Bolt recalled and destroyed and replaced, or just checked? Just because he talks about the cost to replace. There is an issue not just with clickbait but people knowing a little, or a little of wrong info. @3.30 Aaa Batteries replaced.
  6. Ask an Automatic Specialist and they might know the issue or have experience of the Tiptronic and can give you an idea of cost to resolve or ball park figures.
  7. A Mod might put this in the Roomster section with your other posts. This is The Guide Section and your question is not a guide. It looks like no mater how many posts you have the members that might know the answers are not responding.
  8. @peternsomerseta pity you did you not check and set your own tyre pressures sooner rather than trust someone you do not know you or how you use the car set them? Then reset the TPMS. Check the spare if there is one, maybe over inflate so you can let down a bit if needed. Check you can get the wheels off with the tools provided if needed. I hope you know the oil level as you got the car with a cold check, and at Normal Operating temp. So you know the oil level is right. Same with Coolant, check where it is now.
  9. It means more if people say what their cars Tank Capacity is given as, it does not include up the pipe. Then if they started with a bimmed tank how many litres did it take to brim again after the miles covered.
  10. @J.R. I seen to remember that the Higher rate DLA mobility component was £57.45 a week in 2016 (£2,987.40 a year) when I got the Alhambra and no Advance Payment and I paid £200 for the Sunset tint. (benefits go up in April.) I could have had the top of the range 184 ps with everything for £650 advance payment but I wanted 16" rims, no motors in back doors, no leather, no roof rails and no chrome. Near £10,000 for 3 years lease, includes insurance, servicing, including AdBlue, MOT and no VED to pay. Dealers and Mobility want you to take the Top of the Range. Better residuals likely. I wanted the basic because the cheaper and lighter model was actually more fuel efficient than the Official figures showed. I borrowed a 184 ps for a week. As with probably all manufacturers they do not announce the cheapest model being better in fuel. It actually came better specced than it showed in the brochures. There was the increase in 2017 and 2018 to the benefits which was paid to Motability.
  11. I was in to see the New MINI Countryman. A bit of a Big Beast. This is the John Cooper Works. Fugly IMO. 50 Miles round trip in and out to Dundee on the back roads. Not sparing the ponies and starting off when about freezing and 100%, 83 miles. Used 48% and showing 52% and 53 miles once home. 3.3 miles kw/h The BMW Diesel did 52 mpg indicated one way starting from cold. Edit, at 100% by midnight on the 3 pin cable and showing 107 miles range. 18kWh 52%-100%.
  12. @J.R. I have in the past bought cars using a loan from Motability when they did that. HP. I bought a New Jimny on a 5 year loan and had it for over 15 years. & a Used Fabia with a 4 year loan and the wiped the last year and the car was mine because they changed their 'Business model'. Lots of time i never leased a car because i never had Invalidity allowance or DLA or not 3 years. So that was when i traded in Ex Motability cars and Automatics. They used to be limited to 12,000 miles a year and other things that were a PITA, and you lost your NCD. That changed when it went to 20,000 miles a year without paying extra per mile. Ford & Vauxhall forced that change. Then the 2008 Bank Crash had the Big Banks getting control of the Billions that Motability had in funds. Then people got expensive cars, expensive adaptions, and BCA get lovely cars to auction off. There was supposed to be a £26,000 Max Purchase cost. It is all a scandal, an Old Boys Club. A great wizz for junkets, and board / patron meetings and everyone can fill their boots. It is a long time past when there needs to be a grip taken over this gravy train and it gets back to being for the Customers and those with the disability payment and not about 'The Management / Charities Board Members.' ................... This is an f-in scandal. Like the 4 big banks that have the cash money under their control. It has been like this for decades now and should be knocked on the head. motability-operations-annual-report-2023.pdf
  13. The PIP money is the persons that receives it, it does not need to be used to have a car, but you can use as you want, buy or lease a car or Lease from Motability. A Charity that has just given a nice pay rise to the heid yins. I pay full amount of the weekly Disability Civilian payment. Military disabled get a higher rate. Current payment £71 a week, so £3,692 a year, 3 years being over £11,000, but the annual benefit increase is taken. There are cars at the fixed rate, or ones that are a few quid a week less and fixed for the term of the lease. 3 years, can be extended, or more expensive / adapted vehicles 5 years. A couple can pool their PIP towards more expensive vehicles, adapted etc,. eg
  14. My memory is finally failing. There was a thread with the Official Colours and paint codes and i can not remember where or find it with a search. I am sure any body shop worth that name can match the colour. I was a spray painter.. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/442464-skoda-fabia-mk3-limited-edition-14-tsi-promotion-video http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444935-r5-wrap-on-fabia-mk3
  15. @SurreyJohnVery true, road works, iron works, poor under surfaces, repairs / refinished surfaces that look fine until downpours, heavy rain, freezing, snow, gritting ploughing etc. They do not start in bad weather, but one day there is a surface that thousands drive over, within a few hours a bit of damage and before another 24 hours plenty keeping local tyre fitters busy. eg, Forfar North Street and Glamis road this week and Angus Councils slow reaction even though their staff were hitting these holes as unavoidable where they were in the lane, and once you hit them once you knew because lucky or unlucky and you could slow, indicate and go into the other side of the road. Temp repair finally yesterday, this morning they are opened up ready to wreck another few tyres. Last night into this morning the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee was a horror show in the pithing rain as potholes opened up again on the centre lines, and in where HGV wheels drive. 4 Miles of Contraflow at 50 and 30 mph limits and there were potholes in the lanes in the cones. The closed lanes were likely getting repairs but not in the pithing rain they were not.
  16. I shed a tear or 3 for the Character that is 'The MacMaster', really Lee Alexander Davey AKA Rodney the Plonker. Tears of laughter! He was fooled by the Media, by people just like him. They spin any old guff often that does not actually have a grain of truth. He got a car for Business use and it has cost him dearly to run up and down the UK while he supposedly uses expensive chargers as often as he can as an alternative to the ones he can use that are much cheaper. https://themacmaster.co.uk
  17. 3 Yellow Fabia,s in and around Forfar.
  18. @Graham Butcher I am posing about under 2 miles. & just saying what i am doing in the MINI, it is not what i did for 3 winters in a Corsa Electric, but it had wind deflectors, a very good Heat Pump and no dog in the car. I have been driving ICE vehicles since my early teens, i know how they work. Spent many a time with loaded cars going to the Ski-ing and home. As to the car temp and setting, very seldom in all those years have i had heating set at more than 18*oC once a car or van has heated up. PS. @ 2*oC or lower ambient temp your AC is disabled is it not?
  19. @Graham ButcherThey are on pretty narrow tyres and still go round corners well, or kind of well for narrow ECO tyres. There is power in these smaller EV,s so that really you do not notice weight unless you yomp them over humps on roads or they start sliding on wet roads or icy ones. Even the big fat / heavy EV,s do not feel that heavy while behaving and gripping the road.
  20. @Crasheror @ApertureSmight be able to help, or hopefully someone else will be along.
  21. Well i often say to my self, there is another of those D1cks that need their eyes tested as they seem to need more lighting than those getting along back roads just fine with nothing special and dipped lights in 60 mph limits and it is just a Superb they are in not anything doing a Stage Rally.
  22. @Graham ButcherYou have double the interior space, and have you a dog in the car? What MPG would you get doing 4 or 5 cold starts and 1.5 miles at temps around freezing? The AC on dries the windows, i am not trying for economy, just comfort. Not having the AC on there was lots of condensation the other week, so Heat up to 28*oC and AC on is fine. The times using the diesel estate this week since filled up on Saturday doing the same thing it is showing 32 mpg now down from the usual 46 MPG, and i need to fit a new front tyre tomorrow as i spotted a bulge from hitting a big pothole which is probably the same one a member posted about on a slip road at Perth. Another cheapo 245/35 R20
