Karoq Tyres
You can notice the stiffer side wall with XL tyres. They are reinforced not just some kidology or sales guff.

All Season Tyres for Citigo
My local ATS Euromaster has not been able to inflate the Nitrogen for a couple of years, other than the 78% that goes in when the compressor is used to inflate the tyres. Non of the that work there are for for BS either, so they do not kid the customers, many who are farmers and nit known to throw away money. I have Direct & Indirect TPMS on my cars and with one i know the tyre temperatures but now i feel concerned that my TPMS,s are not working as well as they could from just having normal air. (Back with the Fabia Mk2,s we used heavy air and folded the rear seats down as this made the car faster and grip the road better.)

Karoq Tyres
They will manufacture many combinations of speed / load rating and XL might be with the higher load / pressures but not always. Different applications, world regions / countries. Different depths of tread by size as well.

Lane assist - does anyone actually like it?
10 second stops with engine off is one thing but if you are in gridlock traffic on motorways like passing through a city and it maybe at 15 miles in an hour it is thousands of cars / vans stopped for 10-30 seconds dozens of times. Maybe several lanes wide on each side as through Glasgow. Edinburgh by-pass as well and it need not be cities it can be in and out of towns.

Outsider being convinced at last.
^^^ & so sadly discontinued because Global Sales / Deliveries no matter how Skoda spun them were poor. Everybody loved them and some bought more than one, and the fan boys and girls of the Motoring Media were not among them.

the truth about electric cars
I would expect to see in testing an EV underside hitting the likes of a boulder sticking out of the ground, as in an immovable object. Or a metal object like a man hole cover that had lifted.

Perfect tyre pressure for dry & wet conditions
It can make all the difference with many different tyres / profiles if the tread / surface meeting the road surface changes as the tyres are inflated more and the laden weight is pretty much as the 'unladen weight' might be, But then many might not notice and difference doing some spirited driving at UK NSL,s, maybe just a flash of the TC / ASR light & not aware if the ESP has to do it,s thing, or the haldex getting to do some work.

the truth about electric cars
Very very true. Hands up who has seen the underneath of an EV other than in pictures / videos or other than a Tesla, Hyundai / Kia? Lots have plastic and lots of exposed bits and some very protected bits. There are EV offroaders now, designed and built for that purpose, not just some car, mpv, SUV / Softroader. Corsa & MINI, both were ICE cars and also come as EV,s and the battery protection is pretty good. Corsa suspension not so. Under battery protection good enough for a Farm Track or a Rally Stage with the Corsa electric.

6k 1st Year insurance
At least it is not a Octavia or Rapid in white. Almost weekly Police Scotland are appealing for information on those in the Glasgow area after a murder or maiming. ? Is it White by the way. Sometimes they do not say what model of White Skoda they want information on or that they found burned out. But then they are TAXIS / Private Hire Cars....

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
PS If he goes on Social Media looking for a new partner or just decides that he needs a new car maybe we can recommend a Youtuber to watch and that might put him off getting a Porsche Taycan. Or his hair cut like his.

Perfect tyre pressure for dry & wet conditions
You might very well need to adjust for wet or dry, cold wet as the net weeks might be. You are the one driving, easy to go higher with the pressure, reset the TPMS and then see how you like it, stability, traction / grip, feel on the poorest of surfaces more than just the best like the faster roads / corners. The tyre type can make a big difference and the pressures. Trial and error. Compound, road temp more than the air temp and the road temp can be several degrees lower than the car shows the temperature is. A TPMS that shows the pressure and temperature at each corner can be quite revealing. As with BMW / MINI for when there are Run Flats fitted. On the Mini Cooper S is can be very noticeable just a few psi up or down. Especially with the supposed sporty tyres they come on bad are basically ECO in many cases even on the most powerful ones.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
He will have to do like others and charge on a Tesla Super charger every couple of hundred miles maybe if he is near one or near on his travels. Or just other public charging & pay what that cost if he is not a business driver. At least he never bought his Tesla if it is leased. While charging he can maybe de-stress, read a book, listen to music. Maybe best not come on to BRISKODA though as that might get him worked up about not being able to drive the Tesla through water.

Thinking Octavia MK4
@benterrierIt would be a 1.5 TSI ACT then. (Active Cylinder Technology) & a DQ200 DSG. Not the same issues with the DQ200 as there have been in the past. But it is still advised to go with an extended warranty that covers the DSG. You would maybe be as well looking at a 2.0 TSI with a 7 Speed wet clutch DSG. (But then that is the DQ381 and the number having issues with them are growing and VW Group playing at being deaf & blind.)

6k 1st Year insurance
What is the story then, is that the cheapest of the quotes you are getting? Had you someone else as the main driver or the insured / registered keeper up to you looking for your own insurance. Is it your occupation or area of Glasgow you live in that has it at that sort of cost? You do not say what your age is. I take it that you have just forgotten about thoughts of the remap or cosmetic changes.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcheri knew exactly what i posted and what it was, and it is just as much click bait as all the other click bait and potentially truthful or untruthful or just pure nonsense. I watched the story the last time it was posted, was it not me that posted it? It is onward and upwards and full steam ahead for EV production for some and for others just steam coming off of a poo. Or is it smoke without a fire? Or rubbing salt water into a slightly damaged under tray protecting or not a drive battery. ............ He is using a bit of an old picture ... O' my god!

Thinking Octavia MK4
@benterrierAre you in the UK and asking about a 1.4 TSI PHEV with rather than maybe as Southern Comfort has a 1.4 TSI with an 8 speed automatic? The difference is that the 1.4 TSI as still available in other World regions could not get WLTP certified for Europe. Great engines still but needed the electrification to live on.

Karoq Tyres
Ticking 'Reinforced' shows differently from not ticking. Primacy 4 & Vector 4Season XL and still comes up when you have not ticked XL. Yokohama Geolandar not got a tick for XL.

Skoda rapid poor Mpg 1.2 tsi 110
What is the actual average you get from a tank brim to brim, or how many miles do you get for litres filled. Your oil is not at an efficient operating temp in 8 miles, does it get to an indicated 92 *oC if you check? Oil not coolant. How many miles has the car done and have the spark plugs been replaced at 4 years / 40,000 miles, or even looked at? Is there a nice clean air filter in the air filter box? Which E5 petrol do you use 97 min or 99 min?

the truth about electric cars
The couple from Scotland might have chosen any EV from those prepared to give them support. Building their own car would have been very impressive. These guys did what the writers, producer and director wanted. Maybe they are in the credits as being in on any of that.

ERROR Visit workshop, leave vehicle in P
There might still be Ethanol free, it is just that it could be up to 5% Bi-ethanol. But then there is nothing wrong with that with a Turbo, all about the octane with the petrol, and the 97 or 99 is minimum. Yesterday in Aberdeen i was unable to get GULF Endurance Super Diesel as they have not been able to get deliveries. The Gulf station 1/2 a mile from home is normally where i get it an i hope they have it in for the next fill up. (A nice new forecourt in an new pumps.)

This must be the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Or kind of true.

Charge cooler
It is a very quick job for some.

Kodiaq overheating at "random"
@Maqedonci Just for clarity, can you say what your's is? Is it a 2.0 TDI with a DSG? Water Pump is an easy guess for many, some might go for the 2nd thermostat. No idea about this and your vehicle.

Charge cooler
My 13 year old petrol automatic does few miles and sits near the seaside and if i drive that is when i become aware of any issues. The horn never gets used from one MOT til the next and the brakes are not often used. Arnold Clark failed it on Brakes & springs about 6 years ago before i bought it and 1 year later at the Service & MOT plan failed it on the same things. Anyway a few years on and not many miles it is getting new discs an pads.

We need a thread on Pacemakers or Iron Lungs.
