  1. My bad. So the car is fixed. Wonderful. Leave it with them then until the sort out their crap.
  2. Were they 'Handed a bill' ? or did they get a Quote or Estimate? ? Is the work carried out then, new battery fitted?? If i was Billed for something that i had not had or am getting then that would have 20% VAT on it, Parts & Labour. Now if i get a Quotation that is exactly that, including VAT.
  3. @Graham Butcherread more of the Briskoda sections, forums. I read them all and have done since about the time you joined.
  4. Guest_ replied to Milford22's topic in Skoda Yeti
Welcome. EDIT. I will ask a mod to move to the Yeti section. It will be at least an Oil & Oil filter change and reset the Service Indicator. Then a Pre Winter Inspection is in order. Tell us what was done last time, and how many miles your car has done since the last service. What engine and gear box you have and stuff like that.
  5. @Graham Butcher Scotland has nothing to do with it, very few from Scotland post about their Sunroofs, their door seals etc because they are 'clever' enough to know why stuff happens. They reply to those that might never have experienced such things, then get a Skoda.
  6. Essex / Superb. That will be other issues right there then. Not Fabia, Fabia Mk2 / facelifts Mk3 / Face Lift / Mk4. Yeti, Karoq, Kodiaq, what ever, when ever for who ever. Waiting on this winters 'my cars full of condensation / glass freezes inside posts.'
  7. I am doubtful on the requirement of a 'new battery pack' even being required. But it will 'come out in the wash' hopefully. Like a Taycan Muppet that went on about a £40,000 Battery Pack because of the word on the streets, of the USA and some guy at a Porsche Dealership. £40,000 to him or an Insurance company, or maybe not, just as TESLA will not be paying them selves £17,000 or the Dealership getting paid that. ................ Lets see how many fail in this Red Weather warning, and are insurers going to be rejecting all claims on EV,s requiring replacement batteries that failed while driving on roads open to one and all? Not those that go wading obviously..... This was posted here in the past..
  8. It is in a Skoda, but then that happens even in the rain or pouring warm water on frozen glass as some do. Fills the door unless opened in some cases. Actually rain on the roof and the drains blocked floods a Skoda. 'Simply Clever'. VW Group never got the hang of keeping H2O in engines and out of cabins. Imaging their EV,s in a few years and the risk of the ingress of water or environmental damage from inside the car not outside.
  9. EDIT. Sorry posted in wrong thread. I do not take a car through here at '2', but take 4x4,s if lifted at higher levels if not flowing fast and possible moving me sideways / down stream, that is very easily done once a vehicle goes light.
  10. Maybe not scrapped but written off as uneconomic to repair and the can rise like a Phoenix from the ashes to live a long life. Its all about the business. Then the EV,s / Hybrids / Mild Hybrids need the specialists to be uplifting / storing and scrapping or repairing. ICE vehicles as well, fluid removal, disposal and recycling. 'Loads of money' Profits to be made every which way. Tough titty on anyone uninsured and maybe even the insured vehicle owners.
  11. Just as well the people that design and build them are not idiots. Not like those that buy them like in Scotland were they get ones too tall, or not tall enough or too heavy. That will be Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire in those cases. (Where Fire Tenders were white.) or Edinburgh or Emergency Vehicles that have the wrong tyres for the region. @fabdavrav& i have had those discussions on here in the past, there are threads on the wrong tyres on vehicles like ambulances, fire engines, police vehicles etc.
  12. All just b0llocks. Total nonsense & hype. Thousands, millions of EV,s world wide, no idea how many Tesla but the Dealership Employees, Customer Services or anyone need to get a grip. As for driving in cold slush, snow etc, again globally there must be millions of EV,s now that have or will be used in those conditions. We are doomed, all the EV vehicles that are used for Meals on wheels, Nurses / carers / social workers and trades etc in Angus that will not be getting out because of big puddles. Traffic Scotland and roads department EV vehicles (& range extenders) all around Scotland and in the East are surely going to be out and about. Then the Dundee City Council vans.
  13. At least the TESLA driver knows something about H2o & flooding. I am sure his solicitors can tear a new one for TESLA EDINBURGH & TESLA in general.
  14. Front of my house has water pooling now and around the back will be flooded, probably my shed will be in the water and it will be under the houses through the air blocks. Last time it was after a thaw.
  15. But here is a Red Weather Warning and that is for taking seriously. *11 hours before it kicks in seemingly.* The last time of a Red Warning 8 years ago around here and there were people very near with no electricity for days. The Amber Warning pretty much covers the risk of trees coming down and blocking roads. As usual there are muppets out this morning with no lights or DRL,s only on. Drains blocking very quickly and much of last weeks flood areas have dried a bit but the roads have big puddles already and the rain has just started.
  16. @Graham Butcheri had not heard of the Korando EV, i had a 3 door Diesel when they came out for a few months to run as a demonstrator. An EV running out of puff at 97 MPH is a good thing in the UK as above that can be licence gone territory. I very much doubt it will travel 211 miles on a charge or even 200 miles, but the salesperson could easily try to see since he can just run till near empty when near work and then recharge and then tell potential customers how it is real world around the doors without it running with tyres over inflated..
  17. Not mine. I never liked having to dry out interiors. (Air intake not high on my Jimnys because the issue wading is the grit and crap in alternators, starters etc.) So, On a Range Rover V8 chassis.
  18. PS If you do have a Land Rover, ever a 90, 110, /Defenders then remember they never came from the dealers ready for wading deep water. You needed to put wading plugs in the gearboxes, and there are no raised axle breathers so that is something you need to fit, and that is before even getting to a depth that a Snorkle is required. The raised exhaust was overkill here when the V8 Engine was not really waterproofed. Once i had it i did waterproof it.
  19. @fabdavrav That 'Sign' posted about Comfort toilets was in Perth & Kinross where there are good Electric Car Charging facilities @ 35 pence a kWh which is very different from Highland region where it is 70 pence a kWh and pathetic facilities of many kinds from the Council Taxes paid & for the many visitors visiting. A Tourist Tax charged and used for everyone is well in order. Including facilities for Caravan & Motorhomers to empty Chemical Toilets. PS. My sister stays across the road from the Trespass shop, and been there 30 + years, before that down at Grant Street.
  20. The issue with Michelin Alpin 6 are the sidewalls are not that good strength wise for reinforced tyres. These were 205/45 R 17 and it was my fault i hit potholes but that is because it was adverse conditions. I put on Riken Snow when i had to replace 2 of them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488370-michelin-alpin-6-winter-tyres Now on my MINI Electric it is Vredstein on, for Norway / long winter trips the Riken would be better, but you need to carry 2 spares.
  21. No there were closed because of cut backs in council spending. There are toilets that you pay to go in and are well cared for. There are ones that the community have taken on to look after. Thankfully. The North Coast 500 is really pathetic. The Highland Council say how much it brings to the economy. Put in Toll roads then. Provide facilities. Use income from the Crown Estate of which they get plenty. Have a crap on King Charles. Free Gratis. Actually paying £2 to get into a loo surely is better than what people are having to do now to get a sh-it. The Automated toilets were often in the wrong place at the wrong time, but at a park and ride / charging hub. tram stop type location is just simply clever.
  22. @J.R.If people want on a charger and it starts going slow it is as easy to come off and finish on the AC charger if needing full or head off and get a quick charge if needed. No point hanging about chargers if you want the toilet and there is none and people about. Usually i hang about and charge to full if nobody needing a charge and post on here. The mini needs charging every 80-90 miles but it is quick and a 11 kW AC is fine if that is all there is. PS I only pay when needs must to get to where i can charge and not pay and just have enough incase of diversions or issues with lack of chargers working but i think i know each and every one in the areas i travel in and always have alternatives so as not to be stuck.
  23. @lol-lolNo problem getting speed, just charging speed. Just odd how many are out driving EV,s that say 'my partner or my son know all about charging' and quite clearly do not. Yesterday it was a lady with her daughters & son that she had bought a MG4 for and could not get her CPS card to start a 22 kW post that just charges at 3.6 kW to start. I asked if she wanted the 50 DC / CCS or the 22 AC charger as i was finished. She said that they told her at the Arnold Clark Innovation Centre Glasgow not to use those as they cost too much and ruined the battery. I told her that they were free and perfect for her need. Showed her children the Apps, what the symbols meant and explained charging. They were really not pleased at the people at Arnold Clark having told them nothing about anything useful. I suggest telling the management and all their friends and anyone interested. ................ Much cheapness.
  24. I stopped to charge at Stirling Castle view park and ride and 3 rapids available. I got on the middle one which gives 52 kW while either side gives just 26 kW. On the old original charger a lady was on the AC charging a Kia EV6. I asked her if there was an issue and this was her 4th attempt to charge and she could not speed. I suggested she used CCS and 50 kW charging but she said she had no plug for that just the AC. She had to get to Dundee and charge and back home but her husband did the driving and charging. She went on the rapid to try and I showed her how the plug went in once she removed the cover. The car got only 26 kW so we stopped it and she went on the charger I was on and got 52 kW speed. The car had 11% battery when we first spoke and was at 25% when I left. She was putting Tesla non Tesla on her phone to charge in Dundee. I went into Achterarder to use the toilet and charge to 100%. Chargers available. 52 kW speed. Public toilets seasonal opening and this is not the season. It is a busy busy town with good shops. This is really a nonsense in Scotland especially in tourist areas but any area needs public toilets.
  25. Before the road closed sign went up on Monday i drove though the 1 meter high at the deepest point 20 foot long flooded bit at Queenswell Road Forfar in the MINI electric. (Next to Fiskens Kia Garage and the park.) The Posty in the Van coming the other way watched and decided no. Usually i am in a lifted 4x4 when doing this. It was a few minutes later that i noticed the speedo was not working and i though WTF, must of soaked a sensor or dislodged a plug. Parked for 15 minutes and restarted and it was working. I have waded lots of flooded bit of roads in the Corsa Electric as i got caught on Perthshire roads where a diversion can be quite long, also i have been through a few fords. (crossing not cars.) Not big or clever, but just being honest,
