  1. 1st January 2013 you posted about vents. Why not look at your past posts i your profile. Bumped your pot from 2018. Pictures still there.
  2. & there is no guarantee that the big brands sell safer tyres than cheaper brands because Pirelli, Continental, Dunlop. Good year etc can produce some real crap. Or Horses for courses, or tyres that are maybe All Season because they are on all year, but they are certainly not All Weather or All Seasons of a UK year tyres.
  3. Briskoda luckily is not full of Spelling or Grammar police or into pulling people up on typing the wrong term or word.
  4. They changed that i think. All season tyres with so little tread in winter conditions would be pretty much like the best of Summer / ECO tyres as VW Group fit with a full tread.
  5. @73badgerWelcome. Is it a towbar and towball and electrics you want? Check your local Tow bar fitters and see what they can supply and fit and what the prices are.
  6. Has ROSPA Commissioned anything in the last 20 years as the manufacturers have carried on developing tyres? Some come with very different depths of tread new now and ECO bias and with crap friction / traction / longevity, Look as the tread lasts, pity their durability does not.
  7. £35,400 in October 2019, Car not built till 2020 and in Lockdown so not registered till August. Then the prices dropped a bit. Motability only paid about £24,000 for it. It has the same MOT on it that Mobility did. The same tyres i handed it back with & the wind deflectors removed. Maybe new discs on yet again and hopefully wiper blades. Prep work does not cost a few hundred, it gets put as a few hundred for the sake of paying tax on profits, less profit. I was a car sprayer and refinisher. PS AS to the miles, it is not my fault that it reset it's self a couple of times. It did silly things with over air updates and incompetent techs. EDIT. My bad. It was MOT,d again on the 21st of this month.
  8. A company owned by Michelin and when i wrecked my Michelin All Season Alpin 6 i put on Riken snow tyres because i used to use Riken years back. But then i used to use TIGAR Tyres as well, another brand / factory Michelin own.
  9. The Fix with the 1.6 TDI CR was an Engine Management software upload / remapping & the addition of a Flow device to allow VW Group to say they acted on the Defeat Device and emissions that they say they never cheated. It was long enough now if done over 5 years ago that the car might be perfectly fine. Easy to search about if you want to online. Go on the condition and how the car drives. How many miles has it done over the last 5 years going by the MOT history?
  10. I see the car now advertised for sale for £20,000 less than the RRP was on it almost 4 years ago when ordered. It is only 37 months since first registered though.
  11. In the last 5 years how many miles have they done? Does the last couple of MOT,s look OK, passes without a retest and no advisories. Are the tyres good, matching 4 or 2 pairs, is the windscreen OK not chipped. Has it had annual oil changes and see what other proof of servicing done it has? ? Did it get the VW Emissions fix from 2017 so before or since the new owner got it?
  12. MINTEX was a good name, maybe as good as anything else still, made by the same people that make Pagid are they not? The are just road cars and the pads can out last discs these days, especially OME ones.
  13. Normally. I do wonder if you and Graham actually get out and about that much or if you live in parallel universes. Maybe just places that are unique.
  14. The £400 went to your account and paid £400 that you needed not to pay obviously. You old people get Winter Fuel payments automatically. ? What are people that buy their fuel at supermarket filling stations charged if they stop at a Shell filling station pump and go into the shop?
  15. Unless they have fitted an engine as in Youtube spoofs they will be shopping. But then plenty do that at filling stations without putting in fuel.
  16. My Mum is in Britain, Scotland is in Britain, that was Westminsters helping people with the cost of fuel which you must have missed out on most of it then, did you just get £400, what about your Winter Fuel Payment? Between £150 & £300 by age. (The £300 was doubled last winter.) Paid to those not in the UK if in the right countries. We North of Perth had higher electricity tariffs pre price capping and still on daily standing charges. There are still 5 pence Rural Fuel Duty Relief paid in postcode areas in the UK. Actually that is a pith take. Yes Scotland can produce enough energy for Scotland and for exporting and gets charged more to export to England than from France or Norway or elsewhere. Actually the one French owned Nuclear Power station left in Scotland exports electricity south and across the channel.
  17. People have big or small houses, boats, motorhomes, caravans, classic cars, motorbikes, holidays, weekends away. In other words disposable cash money. Senior citizens get Winter Fuel payments regardless of savings and my mum got £1,230 from Government hand outs last year and just because of age regardless of savings. So lets not drag politics into it and have and have nots. Plenty normal working people without home chargers drive EV,s. I laugh at those mumping about the cost of chargers that pay Starbuck prices. Or that are always eating drinking while charging in some place and never just have a packed lunch or flask, but then they have the Youtube income.
  18. No i used 20 pence a litre because that is common within 50 miles of me for the cost North or South. It can be a lot more than that. That is not just a few pence difference in any language. Well people might have displeasure but they are running EV,s ordering and buying them and sorting out what they pay if they are bothered. You will be surprised or maybe not how many could not care less what Public Charging costs them for the car under the business or what ever, they like driving an EV. 75 pence a kWh, 10 kWh £7.50 4.5 miles to a kWh is 45 miles. So all about location location location and the vehicle & then what you pay for the vehicle, purchase or lease.
  19. @Graham ButcherThe point is 20 or more pence a litre is not unusual. I now that a litre is about double the higher prices of a kWh of electricity at public chargers. So Public chargers retailing Electricity is costing people from around 25 pence to £1.00 a kWh. 20% VAT charged. Same electricity just served to you in different ways / speeds and different locations by different companies making very different investments and getting different profits. There is no UK Political party that is going to change that anytime soon. PS. We used to run our cars on Account at a Fuel Suppliers yard. Not Red Diesel. As to Red diesel now different. 1st April 2022. Rebated not available for running some tractors, construction, plant hire, etc. They are on White Diesel.
  20. @CJJE There still are VW Group TSI engines that you might well want to be checking at around 10,000 miles and where not they had an early demise. That is not cheap plugs, those can be OME and people pay £10-£25 for them. There are plugs that are still just a few quid and do a long time / miles and special sopper doopers that are damn expensive and never going to be good for 65,000 miles as a Dealership employee might say they are good for and why the charge so much for them.
  21. @Graham ButcherVery true as to just a few pence difference on liquid fuel for motorists, other than when not true, like maybe the difference of many pence between a Dundee Supermarket Filling station and an Aberdeen & ones in between or ones in Elgin etc etc, Super Market or non supermarket. The Commercials fuel at filling stations or Fuel Suppliers is very different. Delivered to Haulage Yards, to farms and forests etc. Same fuel from Distributor to user. http://carnegiefuels.co.uk http://johnston-oils.co.uk
  22. Getting Insurance Cancelled or claims declined with you told to withdraw because your insurance was invalid is a terrible thing to happen. Anyway now you have posted on a Public / Open Forum and any Loss Adjuster worth their salt are on Enthusiast Forms. It is a hard life.
  23. The highest priced road side fuelling stop is about 15 miles from where i live. It is Bunkered fuel for HGV,s and they do not want cars in there but if you are stupid enough to go in and take fuel and not look at the price you will get a big shock. EDIT. Well actually my usual place is showing as £2 a litre. I think that is false. As the Forecourt with 2 InstaVolt chargers is closed and getting refurbished.
  24. @Graham Butcher Do not believe everything you read is accurate or up to date, or that people know their arse from their elbow. You linked something from November 2022 and it was not even accurate then and yet the Transport Minister for Scotland prattled the same guff. They do not know majorities or percentages or simple maths, which is why they keep getting caught out with their expenses.
