  1. Welcome to the forum. ? What is unique about it. How many previous keepers were there the pre deceased one? Ask a Current Skoda Dealer or Skoda Customer services for the history that there is on the system just incase they do have some. So a 1.2 TSI. Is it a manual or DSG? Not much gets done or is recommended / given as guidance, over and above Oil & Filter changes, Brake Fluid at 3 years & then each 2 years. Spark Plugs @ 4 years /40,000 miles. Pollen / Cabin Filter. Air Filter and checks / inspections. EDIT. OK, 61,500 mile and a manual.
  2. As it is there are plenty of VW Engines / Gearboxes / vehicles for a few years now that have been coasting before you ever come to a halt and have disengaged from gear and even cut the engine before you even touch the brakes so requiring you to. Often to the drivers annoyance and this can have them switch stop / start off. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/480774-stop-start-system-stops-the-engine-before-i-fully-stop-the-car
  3. I know they say that, but they are Dealerships / staff. It is the Organ Grinder you need to Ask not the Monkey. VW Group were the ones that said there would be replacements. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502882-vrs-engine-cover-recall/page/4 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510390-engine-cover-recall-tsi
  4. There are always a variety of used and refurbed going about from under £1000 to whatever price. Very much a lottery just as buying a Twincharger car is..
  5. People have been buying engine covers, so just keep on at Skoda / VW group for your engine cover that should have come with the car, or ones removed at Servicing because of the Safety Recall in the UK or at a PDI. Threads in the Super, Octavia and Karoq section on the Subject / DVSA Safety Critical Recall.
  6. Base engines in a crate were selling at £3,600 or less 7 years back.
  7. @Carlstonmight be along. Scala are 100 x 5 though. Same as Fabia & Kamiq.
  8. @thomasaspinor @Mickmartinmight be able to help answer anything that you need answering. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/478545-fabia-mk2-vrs-the-red-baron http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/489286-question http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/466202-cave-14-twincharger-piston-help
  9. That came from a MotorChoice establishment which is part of the John Clark Group that had supplied the Audi, but it could be a Skoda , VW, Seat etc. They use that system to have their dealerships / car supermarkets check what is on the VW Group System or any other manufacturers one. John Clark were the original dealership and servicing one, but any approved repairer can add to the record. They didn't want to provide that, but then the car they agreed to take as a trade in then supposedly did not have a Full Service Record. so i said neither does the car you are selling as having a FMDSH. So there you are, that is what there is on the system.
  10. What is put on the system certainly should be available. You can only get what does get put on the system obviously. It relates to the car and the safety of the vehicle and since the Service books stopped over a decade there are Dealers that seem to think they are the Skoda Secret Service. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/479953-service-question
  11. Plenty owners here with them. What nightmare have DQ250s?
  12. @Ulsinus I have not looked to see if you have posted about your cars issues other than the one about using dye to find a leak. Maybe best keep to a post covering the issues in this section until resolved.
  13. There will be much more promotion going on as Skoda are pushed by VW group to help get average Co2 emissions down for the VW fleet in the UK. They will encourage Motability and Fleets with great discounts. Those jumped up salespeople might even have to drive them as their daily transport. Get more first registered and punted as Ex Lower management.
  14. ? Petrol or Diesel? No matter really it should not behave like that. The miles have not rolled on. 60,000 miles is nothing. Was the last DSG Service @ 40,000 miles. Was that done at a Main Dealership? Try another Automatic Specialist, or maybe someone with a car like yours can try yours ot you theirs.
  15. @J.R. I forgot to put in something to identify my Sarcasm. As it is it would be lovely if a Independent Expert was to be inspecting the parts that are getting replaced.
  16. Exactly, Actually i new the answers, and know the gearboxes and engines rather well.
  17. @JohnGarthWas that a Main Dealer that replaced the Cam belt at 5 years and under 14,000 miles. Skoda / VW will surely be wanting to investigate the parts with excessive wear. Was the car on a Fixed Service regime with the oil & filter changed annually and was it VW504 00 / 507 00 used each time? 5w 30 FS III. As was what the Recommended oil was back in 2014/2015 when the All New 3rd Generation Fabia was launched. This below was not available in 2015 as far as i know, only much later.
  18. I imagine you are actually off the accelerator at the point you manually shift a DQ250 down to 1st.
  19. @DonweatherIs this at a speed something under 10 mph that you are doing this compression braking? When the DSG does allow it because VW allowed it to you usually know 1st was the wrong gear to go down to unless you were almost stopped, but then that is maybe just with me.
  20. @asus ? Do you know what is involved? Have you got what you require to do it? Is the car near 80,000 miles, and are you considering doing the filter? Which there is even if VW do not show it requiring doing. EDIT. Last night in the Engine oil post you said the car has done 31,000 miles. *Skoda / VW have the Service interval / recommendation, guidelines, schedule @ 80,000 miles, i would have it done sooner, but by a VW Approved Repairer where they take the hit if they mess up the job. Quite likely they will if you use some of the Edinburgh Main Dealers. If you have a warranty now with the car you bought i would leave it well alone, and if you have no warranty i would buy one that covers the DQ381. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/508177-remap-chiptuning-available-for-the-20tsi-vrs/page/4
  21. Many put on 16" rims and the correct tyres, especially for winter and some have fitted 15" which is the size of the Spare Wheel that comes with a Mk2 Fabia vRS. This might save anyone doing the scores on the doors all over again. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/503390-anyone-fitted-r15-wheels-to-a-mk2-fabia-vrs
  22. @Jamster330 I imagine that those remapping intend to give them welly at some point and are not just doing it to improve the economy. Sadly VW Group appear not to have learned, but maybe they will reduce the service interval eventually and include the filter, and maybe even put a decent warranty on them. You maybe need to look in other sections of this forum. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/508475-gearbox-dq381-in-emergency-mode These are AWD's but the issues are not only with them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509581-7-gear-4x4-dsg-gearbox-error-codes-for-a-2018-tsi-kodiaq http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509101-dsg-in-emergency-mode-in-the-cold http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502781-gearbox-in-emergency-mode-no-reverse-gear http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505394-gearbox-oil-leak http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510461-what-dsg-box-do-i-have
