Buying a CTHE Fabia VRS
Those various coloured vRS / S2000 advertised from 2011-2014 are Mk2 vRS, nothing S2000 about them. Autotrader various miss-advertised cars. http://evo.co.uk/skoda/fabia/11433/skoda-fabia-vrs-s2000-hot-hatch-special If actually a S2000 it would be Green with the S2000 stickers, or the stickers removed. They had a few standard parts like Arm Rest and i think electric rear windows. Out in 2010 so CAVE engines. No CTHE S2000's, that is salespeople that know jack sh-it. '34F7' was not required on a CTHE vRS. That recall started in 2014 on cars 2009-2012 not including CTHE. (see pinned thread at top on the ones that never got that.) 34H5 was started in 2017 on 2013-2015 cars. A software Update. You just need to find a good car. @UrbanPanzerhas one. Others will have ones. Do not buy from sellers that do not even know how to advertise properly what they are selling. The Servicing is dead simple on the cars if the people doing it are competent.

AWD Oil Change and maintaining warranty
We can forget the 'Goodwill' factor. That is a thing of the good old days. Getting a genuine claim is difficult these days. Main Dealer Servicing money for old rope. All important stuff is extra cost. Ridiculous priced extras.

Buying advice - 1.8 TSI
There are 1.4 TSI threads in the Yeti section. Look at the Sunroof issues when considering a Yeti with one. Plenty recent threads on that as well. In this section there are threads in the past months asking about the excellent 1.4 TSI's. Older Yeti threads. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/4982945-lk-or-se-i-drive http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/477415-18-tsi-v-14-tsi-lk-which-is-best http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488009-yeti-14tsi-150

What Porsche say about driving EV efficiently(?)
I loved my IQ as it was much better on corners and more fun than the Original Minis of which i had a few, and Metro's. More room as well. I will never understand why Toyota never did one as an EV because it could have taken the battery and the motor easily enough, Once Suzuki get the EV Jimny on sale or a Swift Size one they will be on a winner.

Very occasional oil warning light and alarm on 2013 1.2tdi
Because i know the who owner is and pass it every week several times. and have done for decades. I am in Forfar. Nothing wrong with where it was bought from. The VW508 00 /509 00 for newer Euro 6 engines is different and not back compatible. 0w 20 FS IV. Green colour. thin as uck-f. The correct Oil is 5 w 30 FS III / VW 504 00 / 507 00. Maybe nothing to do with it, but relevant to know. As is the issue that was common with Volvo / Ford engines that had Low Oil Pressure lights / warning come on. The Oil filler cap was not properly tightened or the seal was gash.

Yea it’s another MPG post 🤨😉
Have you had it long and since before the colder weather and shorter days. More headlights, heated mirrors, rear screen and heating time. Your high idle speed on start up from the other thread kind of indicate colder ambient temps and your starts. How many miles has the car done? Hopefully not a GPF cleaning issue from lots of short trips. But if you are getting 40 mpg around town then that is pretty good. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511015-high-rpm-on-start-up

Yea it’s another MPG post 🤨😉
Is that the indicated MPG on the dash, or have you ever brimmed it and driven 40 miles in town / city with a few stops and cold starts and see how many litres to brim it again? If you were to fill / brim it and do 450 miles on longer runs does it just take 45 litres or so to brim it again? Are you using the cheapest E5 from Tesco or Sainsbury as it will be just as good as the others if they are costing more?

Very occasional oil warning light and alarm on 2013 1.2tdi
Did you mean Serviced 500 miles ago and before she got it? Ask her if the Invoice shows the oil used. I know the garage in Meigle. PS. Red Oil Can Warning is the Oil Pressure. Yellow Oil Can is Oil Level. Needs checked the correct oil filter is fitted, there are not 2 seals fitted, (and that 0w 20 FS IV for newer engines was not put in.) http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/476999-flashing-red-oil-light http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/480611-flashing-oil-light

New wheels.
They look OK in the flesh and have always been good value. If the look is important. Not so good looking on a car unless the calipers and the discs look OK and not rusty / corroded as they are very visible.

High RPM on startup
Welcome. That is what can happen, there is a Catalytic Converter but also a Gasoline Particulate Filter. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/508507-car-accelerates-quickly-when-cold-and-has-high-idle-if-you-switch-off-when-cold-and-restart

ECU replacement
@CactusjackDid the ECU expert not give you advice or have ECU's that they refurb / check? Or know a source of the correct ones.

What Porsche say about driving EV efficiently(?)
^^^ Exactly. Big differences in towns / city limits and out on open roads. Porsche Taycan as a city car not that environmentally friendly anyway. Heavy taking up road space and often occupied by just a driver. Maybe they should do a Sporty Small car or just a Porsche version of an Up!MiiCitigo like Aston Martin did with a Cygnet (Toyota iQ)

Very occasional oil warning light and alarm on 2013 1.2tdi
Mk2 1.2 TDI's were part of the Emissions Scandal and were part of the Voluntary Recall to get 'the fix'. Skoda Fabia 1.2 TDI CR Greenline II 2007-2014. 73 hp. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510529-management-light-not-going-out-after-egv-replacement-on-63-plate-12tdi

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
If the next generation Kodiaq comes just as Auto's until the end of production for First Registration in the UK they will need to get the DSG's sorted out. The 400e' DSG's might be OK for PHEV's, 40,000 mile service interval, difficult filter changes, they show no filter change required, but the DQ381's might need to have revised Service Intervals and a Oil Filter more easily accessible. The currently available in other models 1.4 TSI PHEV's have to be on a Fixed annual Service Regime for engine Oil & Filter changes, the Haldex and DSG oil changes and now VW Group / Skoda showing Brake Fluid changes as @ 2 year intervals makes for rather expensive Servicing & Maintenance running costs. Plus electric charging costs are not cheap for those without off peak tariffs. We will see what we see when eventually the all new Kodiaq,s are revealed.

@Portsoycharlie From other post about the car, is it in Perth and was it Skoda Specialist cars, John Clark Group that serviced it and did the other jobs?
-
Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
The reveal of the next generation Kodiaq is to be this year. If a mild hybrid or PHEV there will be Auto's but when they get their sh-it together and build enough of them and Enyaqs to have low average emissions they can have manuals in the UK again.

Error: Auto Hold / Error: Hill Start Assist
@Craigster Do you have an older 1.4 TSI as well, as shows to the left?
-
Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
They are working hard to ensure that the Models with low emissions are imported into the UK and first registered to assist in the VW Groups Average c02 fleet figures. Since the PHEV's are not arriving there are Smaller models with DQ200 DSG's which are produced in the Skoda Factory in numbers of about 2,500 a day in the normal times. The DQ381 DSG's as in the Kodiaq,s are not produced by Skoda as i understand, but that might have changed morerecently.

Used 1.2 TSI - Anything to worry about?
@BlueTigger I assume a typo as it will not be a 2006. So 2016? Is it due a timing belt change at 5 years or older or is it just being left as is? ? Has it had normal servicing like the spark plugs changed or checked, new air filter when the old one is dirty etc.

Very occasional oil warning light and alarm on 2013 1.2tdi
Be sure the Oil filter is not over tightened, and not just that the oil is not too low, but not over filled. Checked cold, but checked as it should be, at 'Normal Operating Temperature.' What oil was used, not brand, spec. VW 504 00 /507 00 so 5w 30 FS III. Someone never used VW 508 00 / 509 00 did they? 0w 20 FS IV

Karoq cam belt change - start saving now !
Skoda UK might have to clarify the Fixed Price Servicing & Maintenance prices as it is now very complicated and it is Price on Application for many things including Cam Belts. The Book time for the job on a 1.5 TSI ACT and the actual cost of the work and if VW Group will need to subsidise / assist Dealerships doing the work might be something they have to consider. Lots of vehicles will be in the Used Car market including in the VW Group Dealership market requiring the Cam Belt replaced and it is quite an involved job going through the workshops.

Skoda Octavia ChipTuning
It is going to be interesting to see how a remap of a 1.5 TSI ACT with a DSG remap works out. It is how it is when off the accelerator and in 2 cylinder mode and then you stamp on the accelerator that will matter. I mean just in D first of all or shifting to S and booting it. Or drop a gear or 2 with the shifter or paddles and you get max bhp /torque at that RPM. Personally as well as having the pre remap Dyno I would have had the V-box or Draggy figures from the car and with good tyres on which is pretty important with a remapped FWD car IMO. No point always having to put Traction Control off just to enjoy a bit quicker acceleration. PS. Edit. I read nonsense about starting in 2nd as well. You have a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. It starts in 1st. A low gear to about 6 mph when it changes up. Maybe needs to be at about that or stopped before it goes back to 1st slowing, stopping. The remap of that is going to be interesting to follow. Please keep us updated.

EV real world range and cost to charge
£119 of charges that showed on my CPS Account have now been taken off. I am not counting my chickens yet as i did use the chargers and get the electricity. The thing is that because of some glitch in their system the date of use of the charger usage showing was through spring and summer 2000 and there was 20% VAT included. Difficult charging someone for the use of something 22 years before it actually existed. My account shows eah sessions cost as £0.00

Karoq cam belt change - start saving now !
It has brought an awareness to some and hopefully to more in the future about having the Timing Belt replaced on a 1.5 TSI ACT and the advice from VW Group Main Dealers, the price / quotes and if owners need to get whoever to confirm the info they give and if their Workshop Technicians can actually do the job. Lots and lots of 1.5 TSI ACT vehicles will be at 5 years or going over that in the UK & there will be people looking to buy used ones and need to know what a FMDSH should maybe include having been done if they are told the vehicle was always serviced on time or as advised by the Dealership.
