Kamiq 2023 facelift.
^^^ Exactly. Uses the MQB A0 platform, so on a different platform which is different from the All New 3rd Generation from 2014 which was not all new just built based on the PQ26 and some PQ25 and some MQB. Not even new Type Approval was required. http://carscanner.info/coding-pq26

Brake Discs Replacing with Pads Each Time?
Was that the actual technician / mechanic you spoke to so the person that had inspected your brakes?

Skoda Fabia Vrs CAVE. Interference or not
Skoda Main Dealers had cars coming in that their employees passed off as using what could be expected at usual oil consumption when wrongly quoting that 1 litre in 1,000 miles was acceptable or even more oil than that. There were those doing oil consumption tests that did not know the weight of a litre of oil and saying within tolerances & even those that sent cars with replacement engines out over filled or under filled. It has been a ba-lls up from 2010 on with Skoda and Seat from 2009 and VW / Audi throughout. The amount of the first cars in the UK that were rejected because of the oil use, these were just back out on sale then some had engines rebuilt and short units, before base engine replacement started getting fitted had a lot to do with twinchargers being run until a Low Oil Level or Low Oil Pressure light came on and that might not be until the oil was more the 1/3 below capacity which was not that much on the first place. Then also the one failing spark plug. Rejected cars were just back into the trade and eventually might get the breather mod, the software update, the oil spray jet update or even a replacement engine and fingers crossed. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/339194-oil-consiumption-test-part-1 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/341062-cave-oil-consumption-new-fix-updated-two-days-ago-by-vag ...................... Official Oil Consumption tests were hopeless but even more if someone thought a litre of engine oil weighed 1,000 grams.

Replacing Yeti
Getting T-boned is likely more common than the sliding sideways into trees and posts. ECO Tyres as fitted as OE to many vehicles including big strong / heavy SUV type vehicles probably are a factor in many accidents on roads. Be that doing a nice slide sideways or just straight on into so unfortunate with a smaller / lighter vehicle. Looks like some mght get value out of having invested in All Season / All Weather tyres this coming week.

replacement engine
Probably better asked in the Fabia Mk1 section. The issue is the 20 year is the 20 year old or so engine you finds condition. ? What is wrong with the one away to be replaced?

Karoq cam belt change - start saving now !
Maybe Hawco Inverness include 1.5 TSI ACT's at this price for 2.0 l & under engines or the SUV price.

DSG dq381
@asus That must be a main Dealership quote for them doing it & not actually Skoda. Sounds like a bargain compared to the £220 or so it was for doing DQ250's. I would have whoever quoted £260 double check that is them doing a DQ381, and will the Oil filter get replaced or just the oil. eg Inverness & 2023.

Skoda Fabia Vrs CAVE. Interference or not
I would not touch one of these supposedly refurbished engines with mine or any one else's barge pole but then i have never recommended anyone should. (Sadly over the past years there have been Skoda / VW factory replacement like for like engines that went just the same way as the one they replaced.) As to totally gubbed Twinchargers, there are plenty that have been on here looking for advice in the past decade that just got shot of them to WBAC or anyone else that would take them. The same cars have been going around and around and around the motor trade with lots of unfortunates ending up with them. 2011 and that was not anything new as SEAT / VW knew the problems before the first vRS Mk2 Fabia went on sale in the UK. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/213693-vrs-burning-oil http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/353149-fabia-mk2-vrs-14tsi-replacement-engines-replaced-how-many

Engine vibration after cambelt change 1.0 TSI 110 3 cylinder DSG 2018 Fabia MK3
Best not put up with it. Speak with the Dealer Principal next week and tell them your concerns about the job they did that you paid for. Maybe @ApertureSor @Crashercould comment. Easy enough on here to give them some publicity if that is what they would like to have. ................ The spark plugs really could do with being looked at even though it is only at 23,000 miles. Then since out get replaced. Charging customers the same price to replace 3 spark plugs as replacing 4 is a p!55 take. Like the old Fixed Price Servicing where they use 4.6 litres oil for one car and 3.2 or even 2.8 for another. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486469-spark-plug

Skoda Superb Combi 2.0 TDI 4x4 140kw L&K Business Edition - 2018
If 7 speed and fitted to a 2.0 TSI or TDI it is a DQ381 as a DQ250 is 6 speed. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511232-dsg-dq381

Tyre Size Experts Help Please
? What wheels with what offset? A bit big tyres size for the rear, but someone will be along with the knowledge and experience. Also maybe someone with all the figures and no experience.

DSG dq381
Not cheap. I will be interested to know how much Main Dealers are going to charge for DQ381 oil & filter changes, and will they do the filters. As the 2 videos show they have the oil to put in but then the extra comes out. That is in the box and the MCU. As it is the DQ200 has 2 oils, in the box and then in the MCU and much less, but then it is a smaller box and clutches are dry.

Fabia MK2 2014 - loud noise
It must be a Mk3 Fabia. The mechanic could be right, or maybe very wrong, i think you should go see another one. ? How many miles done and what servicing has it had done and when was it last serviced and do you have any record of servicing from new? So cam belt replacement schedule in the UK was in 2020. Spark Plugs were at 4 years / 40,000 miles. EDIT. @Ashton43 I see it has just had a MOT and has done over 91,000 miles. If the Cam Belt has not been replaced maybe worth considering getting it changed.

Fabia MK2 2014 - loud noise
OK. There were 105 ps 1.2 TSI Mk2 Fabia which have timing chains but no 110 bhp 1.2 TSI Euro 5 emission . So maybe it is a Mk3 Euro 6 emissions with a 1.2 TSI and with a Cam Belt. A picture is needed or info off your V5c, or the build plate in the spare tyre well. ? How many miles has your car done. If the mechanic that had the car can not say what the noise is anything here will be a guess.

Fabia MK2 2014 - loud noise
Welcome. I will let a mod know this is here so they can move it to the Fabia Section. ? Is it one of the last registered Mk2 Fabia so in 2015 but built in 2014 & what engine has it?

Engine vibration after cambelt change 1.0 TSI 110 3 cylinder DSG 2018 Fabia MK3
Hopefully they did the job correctly. But then you will not know unless the work is checked. Is it the Master Tech that dismisses it as being normal having test driven the car, or the Service Desk Staff or Service Manager? ? @ForCar40How much did the Dealership charge? http://mechanexpert.com/timing-belt-replacement-on-mk7-golf-1-0-tsi

Replacing Yeti
Very true. I have had high cars & very high cars and low cars as i am disabled and also have a bad back. For the past 2 1/2 years i have enjoyed the comfort of a Corsa because of my back and prolapsed discs. Once in the car and stretched out it is good for me and getting out is easy using the door and roof. I have a Shogun for towing and it is about as lofty as you can get for that seeing over everything which is just that. Tools for getting about. VW Group give the choices across the brands as do other manufacturers. VW have maybe just let quality slip with some of their products be them low or taller. A Golf SV's were a pretty good car for practicality.

climatronic flashing
@nta16that would have been double the record temp recorded in the UK which was in 2022. Sorry, I miss-read, i take it you mean the interior got to that temp. Dingwall would be the place for a choice of Irish Whiskey or Scottish Whisky. @markbsacThe AC will not be working at 4*oC or with some cars @ 2*oC or above as it is inhibited, so it will not be working in freezing weather.

Swap DSG manual up/down
Never seen anyone of the millions with a DSG tell of them having made the conversion but surely someone must have in the past 2 decades.

climatronic flashing
@nta16Was that 80+* Fahrenheit when you were up to Dingwall?

EPC and other faults suddenly happening
I wonder just how many VW Independents or even main dealers have the worn parts for a Euro 6 1.2 TSI sitting available. If there are going to be issues with 8 year old cars then this is where we might here about more of them.
