Delivery times?
If 35 pence a kWh then 10 kWh is £3.50. on a 7 kW charger a EV might get 6.6 kWh in 60 minutes. I get 1.1 kWh in 10 minutes. If the car charges at only 3.6 kW then someone is getting their figures very wrong for 15 minutes on a home charger.

Rear axle
So a 1.6 TDI Octavia Estate from 2010. Front wheel drive. Hopefully someone can come along to help you as to what else you can get one from that you can fit. Are the bits on your car OK that you are keeping, hubs, brakes, suspension etc, and how much do you want to be coming with the used axle you buy?

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
There are 32 Local Authorities, they or their Council Tax / Business Tax payers fund them. Lots were funded from EU money and that has gone, the Scottish & UK Government are funding stuff they are committed to, but now it falls on Councils to pay for maintenance & new stuff they plan and install. There are still grants though. Perth & Kinross is now 35 pence a kWh. 60 minute time limit, £10 penalty. Same as Edinburgh City, but 30 minute limit and £30 penalty. Stirling Council still free. No time limit. Their Minibuses plugged into 43kW AC chargers getting 11 kW, when only 3 chargers 43 kW chargers (1 of those was broken) and plenty 11 /22's right beside them. http://chargeplacescotland.org/charge-point-tariffs ....................... Nobody else came past when i was on the Rapid. I was 49 mins on the 7kW, 5.65 kWh 36 mins on the 50 kW before it cut out. 17.29 kWh 51 mins plugged in again & 14.2 kWh. That took me to 98 % and ready for later on driving. BBC Radio Scotland running stuff on Public Charging, probably from what the RAC has said about the cost, as in the Auto Car article.

I think you are very likely correct for England. As to Scotland the £50 million plus of public money already spent with Charge Place Scotland and the next £60 million away to be spent is a scandal for what is a pretty crap arrangement. The free charging encouraged many to Hybrids and EV, and now maintenance and the back room admin and IT is hopeless. I did get on a Rapid while posting this as a greedy barsteward decided more than an hour's free charging was enough. Or he could get no more in. Ps. Yesterday I was at a park and ride with 30 Fast chargers with a 12 hour time limit and another with 60 Fast chargers and no time limit. These are perfect for people with PHEV, or EV,s where there are parking issues in towns or cities or even those maybe taking a flight and parking up. At the big park and ride the local council mini buses are there charging.

@Superted best you get to understand what a Rapid Charger is. 50 kW DC or even 43kW AC. Many are just tooting about using PHEV, and charging cheap or free and not using petrol when no need. That is what it is all about. The business use can be a con, and is still being allowed to be.
-
Delivery times?
@Superted there is no Rapid charging of a PHEV,. 7 kW is called Fast charging,. Not fast and neither is getting 3.6kWh. as to infrastructure the UK is a big place. Lots of 7kW chargers around, where the issue is 50, 100 and 100+ kW chargers. Many employers are putting in home chargers,. Many hybrid and EV drivers are self employed and employers and putting in chargers. Many PHEV,s and EV being charged and used in the UK are owned by Motability and Motability is providing chargers and working towards better public charging to suit disabled drivers. ? How long are you expecting to live? Pass 2030 even beyond 2035? Ps, Polestar and Tesla are nothing special for range or efficiency. Kia, Hyundai, MG, Renault are what many aspire to who drive an EV with a crap range like I have.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
Charging on a slow charger this morning waiting for the rapid to become available. Same as I had to twice yesterday. 160 miles took 5 hours and late last night could not get a rapid charge as some old guy wanted 100% in his car free charging even though he stays local and has a home charger. So parked last night with 30% and need to get charged up to have at least 110 miles in very stormy weather. One charger 6 miles away out of order for months now. Yesterday at 2 hubs there were chargers out of order that have been so for weeks. All have been reported often but never repaired. Perth and Kinross, Stirling and South Ayrshire. Great demand for public charging and maintenance is pathetic. Even if they doubled chargers there are never enough rapids. Edit, 50 minutes after I arrived he unplugged his old Leaf. No idea how long he was charging at a slow speed. So now 70 mins later I have only 64% charge. Total crap, but I do need to keep charging until the speed drops to 11kWh because I know getting charged later will require luck. I will pay to charge if chargers available but there are none near where I will be. Taking my petrol car would make more sense if I did no to have loads of time.

Auto lock always on
Next time you see one parked give the rear end a kick below to lock and it the boot lid will pop open.

DSG Reset (Basic Settings)
Regardless of which DQ250 he drives there should be smooth gear changes up and down the box. Planty 6 speed Wet clutch DSG,s in VW group models. Wet clutch before DQ380 / 381,s were introduced. Totally different from DQ200 DSG, that have 2 oils, in the MCU and in the box. These were part of a world wide recall in Australia and 2 more since 2012. @elfensin It is just a DQ250. Nothing special. Used because the WLTP was not an issue for Australia, same as why there is no GPF.

Auto lock always on
Totally true about the Granada as it was with Sierras as many a thief knew. Forest car parks often had these cars with stuff robbed from the boot.

@rohitsinghWelcome to the forum. ? Which country are you buying the car in?- DSG Reset (Basic Settings)
You had D or S. Nothing else selectable. Kick down could be on full down accelerator pedal, or a sharp acceleration it is at 1/3 pedal on a DQ200 DSG on a 1.4 TSI Twincharger. But then the DQ200 was used in 48 applications /VW Group vehicles, they do not have the same mapping / management from those with 70 ps, to those with 180ps / Skoda. (192 ps. this was with DQ200 7 speed in Polo GTI 192 ps 2015, limited to 250Nm.) Programmes are there, pre-set. They could become forgetful and needed a kick up the backside to remind them who is boss. (It helps lots if an engine is well serviced up to temp, and maybe running higher octane / cetane fuel.)- DSG Reset (Basic Settings)
You will find in a 2010 on Mk2 Fabia Owners Manual the bit about 'Dynamic Driving' with a DQ200 DSG and how you change how the box does behave when driven in different manners. So the sharp pedal actions and the way driven has it matching the spirited driving. When you lend your car to someone else it can come back driving like ****e, as can cars from a dealers forecourt. It does not take many miles of giving one going like a slug to behave as you expect. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/228192-resting-dsg Remember that VW Group / Audi were caught with Defeat devices affecting DSG's and not just engines. that was for changing behaviour during testing. They played about with software before it was commonly used in certain models.- Mark IV facelift
Skoda Sales people are usually the last to know anything about Skoda's and models. Unable, or unwilling, or just clueless because even their Directors have not been away on a jolly to see Face Lift Mk4 Octavias. It will be a MY23 car if built before the MY24 cars get built in the 2nd half of 2023. Has the Face Lift been revealed yet? Is the Mk4 face lift due before the factory summer holidays break?- Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
If the car is sitting about a 7kW charger is as good as anything. The lady was just trying this one out and planned on a quicker charge once heading on her way. Lovely car.- Remap / chiptuning available for the 2.0tsi VRS!
They will have that in writing then from someone in the know. They should be able to give you a copy of what they do when a car has a Full Service History to the Manufacturers Recommendations, Guidelines or schedule'. TELLING CUSTOMERS THE VAQ NEEDS SERVICED WOULD BE A GOOD STARTER. *If in high powered vehicles or driven aggressively then 20,000 miles is recommended. So that is OK.*, they are there to be driven in a spirited manner.- Replacing discs with brake pads
- Yeti performance upgrades
@mikey362 ot, but has the Haldex servicing been done and done correctly, and to schedule. @3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner. ? How many miles has it done?- Washer fluid
? Do you mean once you topped it up nothing came out, so you have a fault? As far as the washer Low level warning, maybe for some countries that is not fitted.- Jonny Smith Late Brake Show youtube vids, some are Interviews and many will be on other stuff transport related.
- Anyone actually happy with their MK4? 😂
You can put Matrix lights to Sidelights and Dipped Beam and use the stalk to put on full beam. No need to have them left at 'auto'. When set on Auto and Matrix is working and full beam, nothing coming towards you, lights bright, you can use 'Flash' and get even more lighting.- Water Ingress - Passenger footwell
Welcome. The issue is one that Skoda CZ & Dealerships will have to get to grip with. Model after model from Skoda over the decades have the same design / manufacturing faults. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509734-damp-in-front-passenger-footwell - Skoda Octavia buying guidance
