2011 Skoda fabia vrs auto box ecu issues help
Welcome. Very unfortunate but not unusual sadly. £3,000 was a crazy amount of money. Spare wheels with tyres about £50 on here for sales, that was some service they did, or charged for and lots of suspension parts and labour. First do not give a Skoda Dealership your money. You will need an automatic gearbox specialist, all the gear and more than ideas. Maybe time to get new clutch pack as well as the repair, MCU refurb or repair / upgrade. selector forks or whatever. Read the thread started only tonight by a member with a 2010 vRS. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509953-dsg-maxidot-gear-blinking So the Tech knows the fault and knows just a new MCU and fixed. Really.

Tesla price drop UK 2023. Changing times, changing market. If they can pile them high and shift them cheaper. Or is it like a 'fire sale' make money while you can.
This is all that will mater to many in the UK with it's 70 mph speed limits.

Fabia 2 85.
Good. A Fabia Mk 2 pre facelift, and so Fabia '2' 16v 85 Not a Mk2 Fabia 1 & not a Mk2 Fabia 3.

Oil change intervals
Are you doing it your self or your mechanic / servicing person? I would go 15,000 miles maybe, but that is all about is it a stop / start diesel taxi, or engine running through the hours working. 500-700 miles a week, and the oil & filter change will be every 6 months or so.. The DPF might be more of an issue than Engine Oil. Maybe some Taxi driver or mechanic that does taxis will be along.

DSG maxidot gear blinking
OT with the OP's problem. For @nta16 even @J.R. This was the issue that meant a World Wide Recall to change the oil on 2009-2012 DQ200's. Change oil synthetic to mineral and a software update. Only a Service Campaign in Europe started 2 years after the World Wide recall. The Service Campaign in New Zealand was only needed on a few hundred cars so all got a new MCU. In China VW put a 100,000 mile / 10 year warranty on the DQ200.

Oil change intervals
^^^ Nail on the head. Fixed regime or Variable. Engine oil for the TDI is Long Life regardless of which. VW 504 00 / 507 00 ? What is it a 150 PS 1.4 TSI, or a 150 PS TDI, and how many miles a day / week or even a year will it be doing now.

DSG maxidot gear blinking
Time for an Auto specialist that does DQ200's. Well not the 'Overheating' symbol, and your DSG if still the original is too young for the 'Flashing Spanner'. Later 2012-2013 common the cars that never got 34F7' or '34H5'. Sadly likely the MCU. ? Did you car get '34F7' and the oil change and software update since 2014? You have done quite well getting to 2012 if this is the first the DSG has needed fixed. Maybe not a replacement MCU, it can get refurbed. How are the clutches though? Someone in the know will be along. DQ200 2013-2015 was more the pressure issue hence 34H5 started in 2017, software update. See his other vids on DQ200's

Fabia 2 85.
As to the model. Is your Fabia Mk2 pre Facelift 2010, So Fabia 1, or a Fabia 2 or a Fabia 3. These were the trim levels. so a Mk2 'Fabia 2 85'. Green Fabia, Full size spare as comes from Skoda. Red car. Matching spare i put in to match the tyres / wheels on the car.
-
Fabia 2 85.
'Full Size' spare need not mean matching the 4 wheels on the car. Still an Emergency Spare with a warning sticker. ? It is not a skinny Space Saver is it? The Full Size Spare in your Fabia is likely the same or similar to the Full Size Spare for a Mk2 Fabia with 205/40 R 17 tyres.

Superb reversing lights not good! UPGRADE??
Somebody will know, but if there is nobody about put on the rear fog light to help illuminate behind while reversing.

Delivery times?
It is. Lack of semi conductors, looms, parts, and batteries for EV's. Hence Audi EV's not getting heat pumps from February. But VW have to make sure cars come into the UK and get First Registered and the business makes money, but they can not get fined. They are a huge corporation and maybe hopeless with communications, software, IT and much more, but they are not total nutters.
-
Delivery times?
Manufacturers average fleet co2 emissions. The UK has it's own separate from those in the EU. So VW Group have partners like the Company that own MG, and Geeley to First Register EV's and Hybrids in the UK to keep things so they meet what they need to and not get fined in 2022, and now in 2023; VW UK need to be able to keep dealerships in Audi, VW, Skoda & SEAT with some new cars, and keep money turning over. Just now there is a problem with EV /Hybrid batteries and those vehicles getting first registered for VW and partners is an issue, but they have to register and sell cars. The EU's issues will be the same, but that is for them to manipulate in the EU. 2021. https://autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry-news-government-and-legislation/volkswagen-group-facing-eu-fine-missing-2020-co2

Delivery times?
A right hand drive car for import into the UK might well have a totally different expectation for being built compared to a left hand drive for a EU country.

Compelling on paper! VW should maybe have been nicer to Elon.

DSG modes and gears-kickdown etc. ?gaslighting
What the vids, even later 1.6TDI, or a 1.0 or 1.5 TSI can behave a bit different from yours. 1.6 TDI DQ200 DSG's were / are about the worst there are for reversing up slopes. They change gear automatically or manually, but over the past 15 years there are modes, management of the gears and lots is to protect hashy driving. Changing back to S shop have the car change down and retard the speed off the accelerator, but then there are circumstances / cars where it might not happen. Try other cars and see. Different again. Evolution. volution.

Enyaq Heat Pump Option
I have read that Audi and not fitting heat pumps to some models due to continuing shortages of chips, or other components.
-
DSG modes and gears-kickdown etc. ?gaslighting
Yes, but the DQ200 is as simple as you get. Nothing complicated, modes settings etc. If it does not like you changing down 2 gears, road speeds, declines it can ignore you. Some wet clutch DSG do, some do not. Some can stand the car on its nose nearly if you ask it to go down 3 gears and it does.
-
DSG modes and gears-kickdown etc. ?gaslighting
'offroad' mode, different again for those lucky to have. Calms stuff down when selected and changes the DSG,s behaviour in that mode. Something else for people to gen up on. Especially Skoda Dealership sales staff. Also anyone interested. PS. The clue is in the name, though there are conditions on tarred roads with snow / Ice cover and no black top where it might be selected. @19 mins.

Unlock radio
Welcome. Someone can help hopefully. I assumed not a factory fitted unit as the code should not have been lost. Best you tell exactly what your car is and what radio.

Felicia Pickup TSI
Maybe look for an engine from a written off Euro 6 1.2 TSI, cam belt, or a 1.0 TSI pre GPF in 2017/18. Like this TSI into a Citigo. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/499372-trevorb33's-citigo-vrs-up-gti-conversion There was a TT-RS engine in this early on. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/447378-citogo-reincarnated-by-darkside-first-tdi-citigo

Bought a SE L 1.4TDI DSG
Enjoy the car. The issue of the cars was the water pump / coolant and the pinned thread is up top, so hopefully that was addressed. If you have the Service history and not the Warranty / Service Campaign history get that from a Skoda Dealership or Skoda UK.

1.2 TSI engine help (cam chain)
What is the service record showing, spark plugs changed at least twice, or recently, air filter, pollen filter, brake fluid? Main Dealer Servicing with stuff paid for and done, not just Oil & Filter & inspections.

1.2 TSI engine help (cam chain)
@rapidlyfNo sellers of 98 ron in the UK, so it would be 97 or 99 ron. But it is E5 if you think that makes any difference t the longevity. Personally i would prefer that 5w 40 FS so VW 502 00 was being used, fixed service intervals rather than long life oil that Skoda Main Dealers might have used. The timing chains were the early ones and then there was an upgrade kit to fit. But now near 10 year old ones can be getting noisy. So at least a 2015 is a bit newer.
-
DSG modes and gears-kickdown etc. ?gaslighting
@ordsdo you not have the 2013 Octavia 1.6 TDI SE DSG as shows to the left, so a DQ200 7 speed DSG? similar but different to the OP's cars DSG. Apples and lemons.

Heated wing mirrors
I had Fabia mk2 that had a loose mirror rotating switch and as long as it was turned to the rear position the heater was on. Often forgotten. likely usually broken from the early days when they were stiff. As to heated mirrors, nice, but if not working then use Glass Cleaner / Rain X on them and remember to wipe them, and look in them. we did have decades of no heated mirrors. Obviously if they are there and not working try and find out what the fault is. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/81716-heated-side-mirrors If there are various electrical issues, door loom, switches etc an Auto Electrician can be worth the expense.
