  1. Over stay charging is the best of all. With proper signage. at least 45 minutes, 60 or 70 minutes as a max. Sadly at Edinburgh Aitport park & ride the Rest of Edinburgh City Council chargers the Stickers on chargers are pathetic, and many do not see the small print. £30 after 30 minutes on the 50 kW ones. (3 hours on the 22 kW( There are those that have charged and gone and will find out later, and then those that see too late so keep on charging since they are already paying the £30 penalty.
  2. Stallantis cars are weird. (the commercials are very poor used as commercials out of towns.) The bigger heavier cars with bigger 18" wheels and wider tyres can perform more efficiently than the smaller / lighter models on smaller wheels / tyres. Looking forward to getting to try an Astra Estate EV when they are launched. Slight bigger battery cars now with a bit more power, but i am expecting the range is still fiction if used as a roomier car / estate actually going about on motorways and quicker roads being used like an ICE version would be. PS. Parked my car up with 97% battery charge yesterday and leaving it till Monday to see how the battery / charge lasts as i plan on leaving it parked for 30 days outside and no plugged in. I doubt very much i will be able to unless there is a big improvement in the weather between the rest of Jan into Feb. 96% of 45 kWh will be about 43 kW. If it just dropped 1 kW a day then fine for 30 days. Probably the 12 v battery being what goes flat. I will see by Monday.
  3. This was how it was at a Best Western in Dundee. A great hotel for breakfasts and plenty parking. OK for charging a hybrid if you were able to get a space and if people bothered to go move them in the middle of the night and someone else bothered to go get plugged in. Not sure it is any better now as no more (improved) chargers showing.
  4. There are Hotels in Scotland i stay at where getting parked in near impossible if in after all the construction workers arrive at the end of their working day. There are vans and pick ups all around which is fine, but some take the EV parking and are not EV's some are, and some are plugged in to the AC charging stuff inside the vehicles. Trump Turnberry has 6 AC sockets on a wall in the car park and the cost to charge is £10 a day / night.
  5. This stuff today in the news on EV's out selling Diesels in the UK in 2022, or First Registrations is a bit of kidology. It is cars with Plugs the CEO of the SMMT likes to speak about. Lots of Hybrids are a p!ss take really. They can make sense and people do like them. Like the Range Rover Evoque owners yesterday that plugged in for a free 15 minutes charging at the supermarket and went away with the car still plugged in and not charging for their appointment wherever. Lots are just using electric day to day and not needing to run on petrol. Lots are not. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-64165689 http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-64149130
  6. Hopefully an exhaust heat shield or the likes. Not a selector in the DQ200.
  7. Still look at the 70 mph rpm and what you go to,. Maybe not enough demand for the supercharger then. So you know the story with the DSG and clutch packs. Things might not last for ever. Low miles but still getting on for 12 years old. Never raced or rallied.
  8. It is not a thing you should expect or be getting. Is this with the 2021 car?
  9. Look at the rpm. As you are going along. Maybe 2,200 rpm,. Accelerate, drop a gear kicking down. At the cruising along speed you have the turbo only but if you need more power, you get supercharger and turbo below 2,800 rpm and to 3,500 rpm. It could be the supercharger clutch. Could be anything really.
  10. Elon Musk is over 50yo and eventually he might oversee his company produce a city or small family size car that is super efficient charging and using the charge.
  11. @Routemaster1461An ECO setting on your manual 1.5 TSI is not affecting your AC like hsppren with BEV's to give the cars more range from the battery.
  12. So he has a light bulb moment, finally. Many people have after finding charging there big battery cars at public chargers can be an issue. The time they sit on chargers being a big part of the issue.
  13. Area A does go onto the flat above the cross hatch. With a 1.4 TSI Twincharger with 3.6 litres capacity or a 1.2 TSI Euro 5 with 3.6 then 3.9 litre capacity the Low Oil Warning light coming on could be when the oil was more than 1 litre below capacity. Ps. Lower level shown in pic of as cold dip engine not started. Higher level same oil once up to an indicated 90 *oC and stopped a few minutes.
  14. Best have the car serviced. At least look at the Air Filter yourself and see if clean and dry. The Spark Plugs will need checked, so if out as well to be replaced. The Ignition Coils might be dodgy or a lead. There is cylinder 3 lead that should have armouring on it. Plenty similar threads. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509397-fabia-mk2-shaking-when-accelerating-in-second-gear-and-further-any-advice http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/458349-problematic-fabia-12-tsi http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/459298-12-tsi-stutterjerk http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495806-ht-leads-skoda-fabia http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/469430-misfire-after-plug-changed
  15. Reading to see if there are Fault Codes does need done Maybe there are misfires. Is there a record of when the spark plugs were changed.
  16. Checking with the oil hot when at a filling station is usually good for getting a flat area, near where the tyre inflation device usually. Actually Fixed Oil Services could be VW502 00 with a 1.5 TSI ACT. The Recommended oil for your engine is VW508 00 / 509 00 for Fixed or Variable. 0w 20 FS IV But you will do no harm with the VW 504 00 / 507 00 you are using for Fixed or Variable. 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III
  17. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/498324-oil I remember your post here. The 1 litre might be enough, but maybe not. Best you find a flat place and dip the oil cold / warm and see it is on the Cross Hatch Area. Then when you get the engine Oil to Normal Operating Temp check it. Engine stopped for maybe 4-5 minutes. You want it topped up to the top of the Cross Hatch / Area A as shown in the Owners Manual. Is it a litre on 0w 20 FS IV you have, so VW508 00 / 509 00 Spec? ? When was the Oil changed last. Or checked by you, Is it on Fixed Servicing or Variable? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502494-low-oil-at-5000-miles
  18. @nikasp Are you having an issue with a CTHE Twincharger? Is it just the EPC light on, or that and the Engine (Exhaust Emissions) Lights. Is this just recent or what is the story / history?
  19. @DarrenG. Just nosy but are those extra light you fitted there for using as Fog lights, or are they there as Spot lights and for use other than when there is fog?
  20. I had just thought it might have been a car that was a members car that I had a drive in a few years back that had a TB exhaust but it would have more miles by now than that. That one was a 2014 @vRSgone,s and had a BlueSpark tuning box fitted and went rather well.
  21. @Andy CopeIs this a Blue car? It is a Service Campaign item, so if not done and due it is free at a Skoda Main Dealers. If all is OK now not an issue. Just interesting to know. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions It does not always show here. As to Black Gigaro. Original has the Polished edge. I used to paint Gigaro like Dark Chrome with corrosion to Black or any colour. So is the polished edge still there on this cars wheels?
  22. If you have the clear headlights they are not difficult to get. There are used online. Maybe once from cars breaking in the section on this forum. As to going to the black ones there is a Guide in the Fabia guide section on here. Maybe @UrbanPanzer can give advise.
  23. It is a timing chain. Are they standard size 205/40 r 17 fitted. 215/ 40 or 205/45 17,s are ok. Did the car need 34h5 and get it done to the DSG since 2017. Software update. So plugs, air filter should be recent changed or at least checked. See how the brake discs look, check it. how is the back box. Condition condition condition is what matters and what might need doing that the Indy garage has not being getting paid to do. A full history is good if everything is itemised. Ps. ? What are past mots, showing, fails, advisories, what at the last MOT. Maybe stick up the registration number of it. PPS. Record or a waterpump already replaced would be good, maybe of a timing chain tensioner even though a low mile car.
  24. Packs of 4 Damp Traps are £3 in Asda. Put 1 in the boot and 1 or 2 in the car.
