Dealer used different oil to handbook
@nta16 VW502 00 for fixed servicing as you just showed. & VW504 00 for Variable / Flexible or fixed if you want, as not shown. VW 502 00 being something UK Main Dealers stopped offering a while back in the main.

Advice on DSG 7 speed gear box
@Phil82 Who was he? Was he a salesperson? ? Has the car been serviced to manufacturers guideline so maybe the Spark Plugs changed, the pollen filter twice now or at least at the last service, the brake fluid once. Stuff that is part of the 1.0TSI's servicing schedule. A 1.0 TSI has a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG which does not have a service schedule, recommendations or guidelines for oil changes. All New Octavia do not have Sealed for Life DSG's. Wet clutch 6 speed DSG's in 1.4 TSI PHEV's have a service interval, as do 7 speeds 2.0 TDI or TSI's. and AWD's. A DQ200 is not sealed for life either. There are 2 oils, in the box and in the MCU. It is just they do not have a service schedule from VW Group. (Some people choose to have the oil changed eventually, and early ones had oil changed because of the World Wide recall which was a Service Campaign in Europe. That is not a Sealed Unit, in any way shape or form.)

E10 fuel in a vrs
Once you use a tank of E10 95 ron you will know yourself if you feel or notice any difference from what you are using now. When you say stick with E5 super, is it just 95 Ron E5 unleaded you use now or is it E5 Super Unleaded 97 or 99 ron?

Dealer used different oil to handbook
@TSiTorque It is good if you have a handbook that shows the oil spec for your car. Lots of posts on the internet are about Owners Manuals not showing the oil and referring you to a Main Dealers. ? Does your manual say VW 504 00 / 507 00 for Variable or Flexible servicing or VW502 00 for fixed servicing? you want you can ask them to change it for the correct oil if concerned, VW 504 00 / 507 00 so 5w 30 FS III. The VW508 00 / 509 00 / 0w 20 FS IV is not back compatible according to VW Group so Skoda. They might say that with a Euro 6 1.2 TSI it is compatible so ask them to get the Master Tech to put that in writing if concerned. Not the service manager. This shows from 2015.

Car accelerates quickly when cold and has a high idle if you switch off when cold and restart
EDIT. Previously. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505574-thoughts-on-the-1-litrre-3-cylinder-95-bhp-engine-in-a-fabia-tsi-estate-including-tickover-speed-and-engine-oil-plus-anything-else-anyone @hetty1 If your car is a 1.0TSI and has a DSG it would be handy if you said that. Or is it a manual? EDIT. I see a manual from the previous thread, ? Are you sure it is as high as 1,500 then dropping? 1,200 rpm then dropping to around 800 within a minute would be usual. (Like i expect your mk2 TSI did.) This car has a cat to heat and a GPF and is doing what it has to, but 1,500 seems high to me. *If the car feels unsafe and like it is running away from you if you are not using the brakes from a cold start you have best get out for a drive with a technician and demonstrate to them what it is doing. IMO.* That is no use come winter roads / ice / snow.

Correct oil Fabia 1.0 MPI 75PS
Actually the oil for fixed or variabl since before the WLTP's is VW508 00 / 509 00, so 0w 20 FS IV. I would ignore that. So the previous recommended oil was VW 504 00 / 507 00 which is 5w 30 FS III as recommended by VW for these Euro 6 engines pre GPF (You have no GPF) I would use the VW502 00. that is 5w 40 FS. 'For fixed service intervals'. (Not long life oil like the VW 504 00 or the VW 508 00 they went to.)

Cam belt or chain?
@Sandgroper What TDI engine do you have? How many miles now done? Have you had it from new? You could well put off having this work / expense for a while if you are just doing local trips and driving easy.

New 19” tyres required, which ones
@stever750before the weather gets colder and wet can you try the tyre pressures higher than you might normally run them? (not that i would run them normally that way when wanting grip/traction so friction. Handling and braking over economy.) Up towards the ECO / Full loaded tyre pressures just to see if there is any noticeable improvement in fuel efficiency. What are you running them at now?

Car hesitant to start
@matt_j What age is the car, how many miles done, is it the original battery? All kind of relevant because really when new the cars are not hesitant to start or that would have been an issue people commented on.

Brake Fluid Change intervals
When cars are not on fixed / annual servicing that is how it can be. In the UK they have never really thought out the changing from Fixed or Minor & Major servicing to variable / flexible. The first MOT is at 3 years, the manufacturers warranty expires at 3 years. Brake Fluid first change shows as at 3 years, so does Haldex at 3 years or 30,000 miles, The VAQ diff would as well if they every remember to remind anyone including dealership staff. The other thing is with a 1.4 TSI iV PHEV they have the oil & filter changes as @ 9,400 miles / 12 months so cars are going to be in every year or sooner.

All season tyres for Octavia
I was running my 8 mm when new tread Michelin Alpin 6 till last week and they did very well for almost 2 years till i i got a bulge and a tear. I was going to put on BF Goodrich G-Force winter 2 but i would have had to wait so put on Riken Winters & the 9mm tread seamed like they would be fine. They were great on flooded roads last week but they are going to have to come off until the snow comes as they have killed the range on my electric car.

Robust tyres for Octavia Scout
Bump for @DibDibScout

All season tyres for Octavia
These perform OK if you are not wanting to go to All Terrains. If you do want All Terrains the size you have is an awkward one. There is a thread on robust tyres for a Scout. It is in the tyre section and i have bumped it for you.

Headlights and regen brake lights
Is it not only at a certain amount of speed retardation that they are coming on at and not just when there is lower regenning. That is how it is with some EV's. Mine does not get brake lights coming on as there is not that much of a braking affect. http://greencarfuture.com/electric/does-regen-braking-turn-on-brake-lights

Cam Belt for 1.5 TSI in East Kent
If they need to trained and get experience then that can not go on the hourly rate charged to customers. But what ever the book time for the job is dealerships hourly rates will be going up and not down. Parts are unlikely to be dropping in prices and there will be more customers being told about 'on back order'.

2.0 TDI 4x4 MPG
They are supposedly more economic and with lower emissions now in 2022. Nice if they really are, and just sip the Adblue and use little of the VW509 00 /0w 20 FS IV oil. Different oil, different engine management, it will be good to know how the OP's car does as a high annual mileage car.

Cam Belt for 1.5 TSI in East Kent
As with DSG,s there might well be Main Dealerships putting jobs out to independents. Ones that must then be Authorised repairers. Not uncommon with Scotland's biggest dealership group. Or even the 2nd or 3rd biggest. After their techs have messed up usually, but that is what can happen when they have all the gear and not much between the ears. Or just not the staff, the gear or the inclination. An example from an Independent. https://www.pscautocentre.co.uk/products/audi-timing-belt-water-pump-replacement-petrol-engines-mqb-platform?variant=40099133685806

Cam Belt for 1.5 TSI in East Kent
@ApertureS It looks like there are going to be plenty of owners or those maybe buying a used 1.5 TSI ACT's over 5 years old trying to find anyone that can do the job for less than Main Dealers can. It will be interesting to see how VW Group / Skoda UK deal with Dealerships that do not want to be doing customers cars, or even 1.5 TSI ACT Approved Used Cars with a FMDSH that have not had the timing belt changed. Vorsprung Durch Technik. Maybe not enough thought was given to the matter of servicing and maintenance 6 or 7 years back.

Cam Belt for 1.5 TSI in East Kent
There are more posts and threads appearing in various forums. It is like 'pick a number any number'. http://golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/1-5tsi-cambelt-change-dealer-pricing-indie-cant-do-it.405194 @johnmb What you have been quoted is pretty much going to be the price. Anyone quoted less at a main dealership needs to have whoever is quoting check again what the job actually entails with a 1.5 TSI ACT. Try and get them to give the actual cost in writing if they say it is cheaper. @ApertureSMight be within travelling distance for you and able to quote to do the job. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506921-octavia-mk3-timing-belt-costs

Car shudders
OK, so a 1.4 TSI ACT with a DQ200 DSG. There are a few things that could cause the judder, and it might be your DSG which gets no servicing. There is a garage in your general area that might well be able to diagnose the issue. Best have someone familiar with the engine and gearbox check it out. http://autohausedinburgh.co.uk
