  1. I maybe wrongly thought that was mud splashes or bird poo not cleaned off. (use a wet tea bag to soften bird crap.) No scratch is as long as 12", but do they want to look at it as where the first short scratch starts and the last one ends. That is several short scratches though. Then for Scuffs or dents, that is a diameter slightly more then a 12" circle. But it is not scuffed or dented. *Not light scratches that are buffing out though, that requires spraying colour, so a SMART painter doing a smart job. *

  3. 'Dispatches' is a Channel 4 programme. It is 'Disclosure' which is a BBC Scotland programme that is about EV Chargers in Scotland.
  4. @toeis it just a 2 years manufacturers warranty with Skoda in Ireland? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506325-kodiaq-overheating-at-random/page/2
  5. Welcome. That looks pretty like it will be a claim that should be honoured. Did you get your copy of terms and Conditions & exclusions when you purchased the cover, and still have that? You have the gist of it anyway, http://marriottmotorgroup.co.uk/skoda/buying-online/smart-protection http://john-clark.co.uk/skoda/vehicle-protection/smart-cover-insurance http://simpsonsskoda.co.uk/finance-offers/cosmetic-damage
  6. The heater on full, my phone charging and the radio on makes no difference to how much goes in to my car on the 7 kW charger. It is 1.1 kWh per 10 minutes regardless of the ambient temperature or the car being parked, empty, everything off and locked. Only since the Corsa got the software update the other week does it slow down in the last 2% of charging from flashing between 21-26 mph, to now 8 mph. Now as a habit the car shows 180 mile range. Last night when charged to 100% it was showing 191 miles. Pre Software Update even when running efficiently it was only showing 160 miles at the most. When new it was nearly always showing 180 when at 98%. It is running more efficiently since the update, has more of a regen. I will see later this week if my new tyres have affected range, but the weather is getting colder so maybe it will be as last year and as low as 2.5 miles a kWh when it is around freezing even on longer runs at below NSL's.
  7. Welcome, maybe @varooomcould help, or others will see this during the day.
  8. Watched it over 4 hours ago before posting the link. Then a phone in on BBC Scotland with Kaye Adam had the discussion on EV's and some positive and some negative experiences. Again Broxden Park & Ride Perth was criticised. Rightly so. Perth & Kinross Council have got away to long with the facility there being pathetic for the Gateway to the Highlands, and major tourist destination and way place & where P&K seemingly want a Low Carbon Hub to be. Then after posting the link i went to the empty Tesco charging bays, well other than the 1 driver charging that i asked if he knew he was paying for it. He unplugged and did not bother plugging back in for another 15 minutes. I had 2 x 15 minutes charging and that was 3 kWh of a charge which was what i needed to top back up the 6 miles driven since last charged and a cold night with a 5*oC this morning. That would be 28 pence for 3 kWh so 84 pence. As the weather gets much colder that might double in cost per day if needing to pay. Local Council chargers still @ 23 pence a kWh but going to be busy now and the latest one installed still has a barrier around it weeks after being powered up, and still not on the system with CPS but means that charging can be done for free. PS. On that EV forum there seems to be people unaware of loans in Scotland to be used EV's.
  9. First 30 minutes of a diagnosis is £60. But then that is not a diagnosis if just checking soot. £90 an hour including VAT sounds like they are a lower cost main dealer.
  10. Has your car not got them fitted as standard in Israel ? 1 on each wheel under the plastic wheel bolt cover.
  11. Run flat tyres might be ok if you are never far from home, civilization, tyres centres etc. But distance travelled might not be far with one punctured. Then similar with a Self sealing tyre that is actually wrecked and not self sealing. Ps. If you need to fill a boot so full with stuff with people in a car do you really want them in a car roadside waiting for roadside assistance during poor weather, winter time, holiday times etc, maybe when tyre centres are closed.
  12. Report to an authorised repairer, so a Skoda main dealer ASAP and have their technician do their job. Do not have a salesperson drive it and tell you they all do that.
  13. 'One in four Scottish EV charging-points-faulty' According to the BBC programme. It does say of those installed using Scottish Government Grants. But, **That is more like 1 in 4 Charge Place Scotland public Chargers that SWARCO administer, tax payer funded, and many installed with grants from tax payers including from the EU in the past, and the 'Commercial Chargers that are available are not this poorly maintained. These also can get public money and grants** There has been over £50 million spent in the past decade on chargers and maintenance and electric with CPS and public chargers and that is not just from the Scottish Government or tax payers in Scotland. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-63371759 BBC Scotland Disclosure programme. Electric car charging in Scotland. Available on iPlayer. http://bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001dvbc/disclosure-series-5-6-electric-cars-ready-for-the-charge ** The amount of electricity from these PUBLIC chargers is not just going to private individuals, it is going to business / company vehicles, emergency service / NHS vehicles and local authority vehicles and even to Council vehicles and politicians vehicles. Some of whom will be claiming mileage / fuel allowances while getting free or subsidised fuel. **
  14. Time it to charging up to leaving in the car, have the car heating inside and the battery prepped using the mains power.
  15. The only Test Track testing that i bother with is where they are on the likes of an Alpine Road Test track with camber in the lanes, a white line and a driver driving a car that they can keep in their own lane between the verge and white line. Like people have to drive, in the dry, wet, cold, snow etc, handling and braking. Not crossing into others path. Track lines and getting your apex and that handling on a track really is only of much use as a comparison of how they are on tracks. Not many driving on race or test tracks to work or with their nearest and dearest in the car with them.
  16. @Gonzini £2.50 extra for a tankful is hardly big spending, compared to splashing cash at main dealers for them to suck in loudly and say all is fine. Also to charge the same fixed price to supply & replace 3 spark plugs as they do to replace 4.
  17. Crail might not be Santa Pod, but like with any RWYB the cars are all starting on the same surface, just the weather / temperature changes. Not the track preparation. Much more like street racing as many find when they do bother to travel north and do their thing. http://crailraceway.co.uk/wp/records
  18. Personally I would use VW502 oil at the next service and not long Life oil. Change the spark plugs if they are the factory ones still in. Then use Tesco momentum 99, or Sainsbury super unless 97 Ron min, even Esso 99 super and every week or odd week have a wee run out, car up to temp and do a few miles of driving.
  19. Very different cars. Apples & Pears really with a 1.4 TSI iV / PHEV & a 2.0 TSI.
  20. The UK is no longer in the EU. Nice for modifiers. What a great sleeper.
  21. @Gonzini There are plenty on here with a 2018 on 1.0 TSI that can check if when the Ignition on lights / dash warning light check is done shows a GPF (OPF) light / symbol.
  22. On my last 2016 TDI the DPF did not have a check light come up, when the DPF was blocked it came up in the Maxidit with a message. Same with my mk2 Fabia and the Engine / Exhaust emissions light, or red oil can low oil pressure warning, they were not shown with other check lights.
  23. No one else even did a drive by, so plugged in 4 times and am brimmed. Larry as. That will be just dandy in the cold mornings. Heat the car before heading off anyplace.
  24. Tesco PodPoint charging bays empty at my local Tesco. Started charging for the first 15 minutes so I never claimed the charger. That will do mean a couple of times a day if the 15 stays free when just doing my few miles a day locally.
