  1. See post by @varooom& @Conalk45, that is a DQ200 DSG though. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505730-weird-error-message-only-leave-vehicle-in-position-p/page/2
  2. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507914-reversing-aid-buzzer
  3. I can not link it or bump it just now, not likely your issue though. So an oil change is very unlikely to resolve anything. A reading of any codes, a road test by a technician and then maybe a reset / update and then another road test is what it needs.
  4. Welcome. It is recommended to change oil by some, there are 2 oils, it is not a VW Group recommendation as there are no Guidelines, Recommendation or Schedule for oil changes. ? So what car, engine is your DQ200 fitted to and how old? Plenty threads here but as to resolving the issue, first is diagnosing what it is, on what engine & DQ200. A heat shield can make noises, but no VW UP! has a DQ200, so the heat shield noise is as with any car. Under bonnet heat shield, or under the car, beside the exhaust, these you check visually, buy touching etc. PS Searches of DQ200 cattle grid noise brings up threads. There are even recent threads on here from just this month. That was a drive shaft issue according to the member. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495334-dsg-noise-between-gears-under-load-14-tsi
  5. Plenty discussion on here over the years on the Fitting Centres and fitters that will only fit new tyres to the rear. Obviously do not run crap tyres on the rear of FWD, RWD or AWD / Part Time Drive vehicles, but do not keep crap tyres on the front where you are steering, braking, controlling the rear with on front wheel, rear wheel or awd vehicles. The thing with crap tyres without grip is it might keep some idiots at home in wintry weather when they can not even get to the end of their road. PS Go to the parking outside a Tyre & Exhaust centre and see what they drive, and what tyres they have. In some of these people you trust their advice. Should you? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/419541-new-tyres-front-or-rear
  6. Nothing really to do with VW Group TDI's or TSI's then. Much of the issues over the years has been them requiring and sourcing rather gash belts, chains, tensioners and water pumps for road vehicles, and they still are to this very day. Fundamental design, manufacturing, material failures and penny / euro pinching hence crap quality / longevity. They even had the nerve at times to blame the wrong coolants. That was coolants they specified and sourced and factory filled. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/426322-recall-on-diesel-cooling-issues
  7. @J.R.Modern traffic doing better than a 50 mph average speed maybe would do the 3,000 hours = 30,000 km. That is not City Traffic. That was why i was asking if it was Fork Lift Truck that where having the replacements carried out. With Road Going Vehicles, cars / taxis / delivery vehicles it would make total sense to go buy engine running time as well as miles / km covered. Even more to factory in Stop / Start, or length or trips, short or long, like you might do with Oil & Filter changes. As it is PHEV's from VW Group have the 1.4 TSI engines with Fixed Service Intervals for Oil & Filter changes, so at 9,400 miles / 12 months, soonest, some even say 8,000 miles. Funny thing there is that some cars might do almost all the miles / km using electric and short trips of under 25 miles and never have the engine fire up for more than a few minutes.
  8. @Jason Smith Is there Skoda Dealerships Service Department staff not being helpful with any issue you might be having? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507249-replaced-battery-original-efb-anyone-else-not-have-agm
  9. @Wingnut73ukWas this Fork Lift Trucks you worked on? Timing belt & Water Pump changes @ 18,441 miles. Would that many miles in a FLT not take many more than 3,000 hours at the speed the time engines run and are not going anyplace?
  10. @Carlston drivers that drive everyday and week and year are ether prone to drive like plonkers or boy / girl racers at times but i hardly think that they become a nutter just because the car they are driving has tyres with a bit more grip that gets safely down the road or to a stop at the speed they drive. Actually it is maybe when they find the back end can go out and the can control it that they might give it a go. Otherwise it is just about getting does the road and back again without hitting a kerb, a ditch or another living being. It is you that is an evangelist for narrower tyres on smaller rims. A bit like those motoring journalists that seemingly think they are driving gods and a GT86 /BRZ was the dogs dangles because you had crap traction at the rear.
  11. @croquemonsieurWhere are you driving, and do you bother more about saving a few quid on fuel than grip / safety. Are you fitting then to a car you are keeping for a few years? You can get good tyres and economy and any saving can be made by not paying too much for the tyres. I just ordered a pair of BF Goodrich G-Force Winter 2 tyres to fit. I have used these in the past and they were good and they are well priced, as in inexpensive. PS @ ATS Euromaster long delivery dates showing for All-Season & Winter Tyres. December for many before becoming available. Alpin 6 were 13th December. Even the BF Goodrich G-Force Winter 2 were showing not available on the Tyre Centre Computer until late November. Cheaper on-line anyway on the ATS Euromaster website fitted than the Centre can offer. Ordered online, and fitting booked for Monday Morning. Maybe i will get a phone call yet saying they will be delayed but the payment is already taken off my card.
  12. @croquemonsieurI have Cross Climate SUV's on my 4x4, pretty crap on snow, Cross Climate + on my Petrol auto which are good and Michelin Alpin 6 on my Corsa Electric which are great. So i am sorted. Pity i hit a big pothole on a pretty flooded road the other day and have a bulged sidewall and will need to replace a pair of Alpin 6's as the other one has a sliced cut on it. When roads are ploughed and gritted All Seasons are fine, even sometimes on fresh snow but i prefer to know as long as i can get out on the road i can move as long as the snow is not too deep.
  13. Good, that is what trackers are for, on cars / vehicles, pushbikes / e-bikes, mobile phones, laptops etc.
  14. A Spare wheel is there for emergencies and might not match the 4 tyres on the car anyway, wheel steel not allow, different width and diameter and a Space Saving or Space Saver tyre. If you do have a Spare Wheel that matches the 4 on the car and a matching tyre, but the tyres are directional then if you need to fit the spare and it has a directional tyre there is a 50% chance you have the correct one. If not, fit the spare, slow down until you repair the puncture or replace the tyre. PS Road surfaces in the UK are not the same in towns, cities, country roads or motorways, dual carriageways in the same counties around the UK let alone in the 4 countries of the UK, or the south, north, east, west or central. Noise from tyres is more than about rough roads or broken surface roads. ? How fast are you going on a road with broken surfaces, or cobbles or asphalt or whatever finished surface the road hus. Ones with plenty grip and water draining or those that are smoother and with less grip / traction or maybe more.
  15. If someone steals my car to rag, strip parts from or even just go dogging in i do not want it recovered.
  16. There is no factory limiter of 250Nm. The factory fit DQ200's to engines that do not produce more than 250 Nm. (supposedly). Plenty tune / upgrade the engine with a standard DQ200 DSG. There is no 'limiter'.
  17. Go drive them and see if you like the 1.2 TSI more than your 1.0TSI Kamiq. Get a car with the power output you want or need. The reliability of a DQ200 DSG will be better the newer the car. Buy an extended warranty that covers the DSG if there is not a warranty of 1 or 2 years with the car you are buying. The 1.0 TSI followed the 1.2 TSI and went from 4 cylinders to 3 cylinders and got a GPF. Best buy as new as youi xan if keeping the car. Get one with a service history of work done not just saying FMDSH yet not much more than oil and fiter services done. The timing belt is due replacing at 5 years old.
  18. @MrchristopherWelcome. Did you pay for this Oil & Inspection service npw, or is this done under a Service Plan for Fixed Servicing so already paid for when you bought the car? Did you get a paper copy of an Invoice with parts / fluids, Oil, Filter, Sump plug and the Health Check report, showing tyre depths etc? ? Is the Service indicator set for the next Fixed Service at 9,400 miles, 12 months from now? **Dip your oil cold without the engine started and see where it is on the dip stick. and do another check when the ar has had a run and the oil is up to temperature and stopped on the flat, a few minutes after the engine is stopped and see the oil level on the dipstick. Just so you know where the level was after the service.**
  19. They are all going rear motor and rear wheel drive unless they also have a front motor and that is in the next 8 years. Lets hope the new cars going on the road now keep on trucking for over a decade. Back to the future. 'It is the Way of life.' Maybe Skoda could be bothered sooner rather than later to get on and build a smaller cheaper electric car as not everyone needs big fat or fast accelerating lumps. Personal transport that does not use loads of materials or style over function.
  20. Welcome. Sounds like the Skoda Assist Responder might just be dealing with vehicles in the area where there is a dodgy technician doing the Recall Action work. Unless other members in another area of the UK have had similar happen.
  21. The mechanic that checked your brakes will replace them when needed. Painting them pre winter is not the best time to do them. Being sure the wheels come of is. If painting, Sand paper is available in Home Bargain shops for about £1, and a rattle can of silver paint / zinc / manifold paint is £5.99. Surely not much more in Ireland in Euro. You need to know how to remove wheels and that they will come off if you were to have a puncture.
  22. @Skodaeire What a lovely little earner for him. That is a ridiculous amount of money. You can get new discs fitted for that money. You can paint the bits the pads do not touch before they are fitted.
