Lane Assist and Front Assist - Just me?
Even Lane Keep / Lane Keep assist left set at it's most sensitive is not an issue when pulling into a passing place or parking spot. Use mirrors and use the indicator. (Are you not below 40 mph anyway as you are pulling into a passing place?) Using your indicators when crossing centre lines is easy enough when they are there, holding the steering wheel when meeting cars is easy and adjusting sensitivity is easy.

Rusting Wheels?
You need to remove your wheels then tidy up your discs / hubs if you want that to look better. Wire brush / sand paper, rust treatment, paint etc. ? Have you never had the wheels off to see how they are fitted, or serviced the brakes?

2013 VRS - Brembo Discs/Pads - Opinions?
I would say you are thinking of Brembo when there were a well respected product. They are so so, and priced that way.

Issues with Skoda Octavia 2021 combi 1.5 TSI
Just as well i loved and still do the car, which was supplied by my local Dealer 1 mile away. They gave up the franchise, now they are only a KIA Dealership. That latest fiasco was with Arnold Clarks, they are well known for taking the pith with their Health Checks and even more so with EVHC's. The Service was not completed at 8,000 miles because the EV Tech was not available even though the booking was arranged a month before. The Service Indicator not reset, then showed for 18 months, the 2 Recalls were 18 months without being done and one was a Safety Critical Brake Module recall. It never burned through discs, they were red rusted through lack of use. An EV with regen not needing braking. Then disabled drivers with one foot or no foot, hand controls might never brake or brake seldom with ICE or EV Autos / DSG's. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485497-vauxhall-corsa-2020-fault-maybe-faults-in-first-6-weeks/page/6 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/489573-winter-roads-ice-snow-and-wet-or-dry-driving-in-an-ev PS My car has lost miles off the mileometer, while doing Over the Air Updates, going to Factory Settings, while they have had it plugged in or someone trying to reset the Service Indicator. Likely back to 'In transit' settings. They can not blame me, i never touched it. I might extend the lease next August, it looks like a low mileage car even though it lost 12,500 miles at 25,000 miles, then another 10,000 miles. That is going to be interesting with Ex Motability EV's from Stellantis (PSA) It has actually done 37,000 miles now, went over 37,000 miles yesterday. I know because i have to charge the car and have my GPS tracker stats etc. Top, what it was showing a few weeks back. Bottom, is right now and what the car dash is showing as the mileage.

I mean hold a sample against the glass and you sit in your car and look back or in the interior mirror, and maybe with the workshop light turned off.

Octavia MkIV 1.5TSI Engine rattle
& they have the Average Emissions required to stop paying penalties by Partnering with MG & their owners and Geely. Only issue is that the EV's builds and First Registrations has slowed and VW Group could be up the creek with how many all ready First Registered of their ICE vehicles in the EU and the UK. So they might need to ration what gets registered the rest of this year and next year. They need more Low Emission & Zero Emission cars first Registered and they have not enough of their own.

Issues with Skoda Octavia 2021 combi 1.5 TSI
@PhoenixboyThe point is 'Motability' the biggest group buyers in the UK sell the cars through BCA with the known fact that the Servicing is done pre sale and the MOT done, Any Warranty Work should be done, recalls / tpis, and anything needed for a MOT pass. There are Dealerships that say, Motability will only authorise 1 wiper blade, 1 tyres , and other such crap. My Corsa Electric got new rear Disc Brakes fitted 2 weeks ago at 26 months old. Arnold Clark were stupid enough to send me their Scare Video of the work needing doing, Rear Discs, front brake strip. I called and said do that then once you send Motability your video and get permission. They said Motability would not approve, i said i would not be collecting the car then. People in Dealership Service Desks say their dealership are paying for Motability cars servicing and maintenance. They are muppets, they are well paid for servicing, maintenance and the MOT. What happens is Warranty claims are to be claimed for and Motability expect the claim approved and the work done.

Window tinting
What tint has the car got already that you are adding too. Surely the Tinting operative showing you what they can offer before doing the job will be the best way of knowing what you think is right.

Sudden braking for no reason
@ZoravarStuff breaks, like your car did. If you do nor want complex cars maybe buy a DACIA. Not towing automatics but putting on a trailer or flatbed or drive wheels on a dolly has been common for decades now, or removing prop shafts, but recovery drivers know that, or should. As to e-Brakes. There are Police Reality shows, i often see the repeat of the officers trying to move a car by pushing and the e-brake staying on. Closing the drivers door might have been a good idea and seeing how they got on. There is no Legislation in the EU that cars currently type approved have the system from the factory or active when the car is turned on. 'Autohold' & e-brakes are different. Autohold acts front and rear, the e-Brake is a Parking Brake, rear brakes. 'Autohold' is able to be activated or switched off.

Issues with Skoda Octavia 2021 combi 1.5 TSI
1 Previous Keeper. In the name of an adult if the person getting PIP was a child. *Motability Finance Owned the car, Motability are not the Registered keeper, a childs name can not be on the V5. If the person leasing has not got a driving licence their name is not on the V5, it will be one of the Named Drivers.) So 1 previous keeper who could be like me, an Ex Motability car just like the Motability cars i have had and do have. 13 now i seem to remember. Mine are Never Raced or Rallied, well not on public roads or where there are cameras. The Car should have had a Full Service before hand back. Then at Hand Back the Sales Staff getting it in Photograph it, do the description & that is then the Advert / Info on the BCA auction that the trade buy the car from. When i have a Motability Car i tell the Dealership to do the AC service that they would tell a private customer would be required. The Brake Fluid Change at 3 years should have been done with Motability cars from the VW Group at the service pre 3 years. PS. Cars getting handed back and getting collected from the dealership are not returned to Factory Settings. That means, Steering Assist or Brake Assist might be set to a drivers needs if the driver was disabled or had infirmities. Also a car can still be remapped if someone had done that during the lease, and sometimes people do, family members or whoever had the car.

Octavia MkIV 1.5TSI Engine rattle
^^^ Exactly why people saying they have the same engine might well not. If reading on a phone unless going to someones profile you might not know what car or age of car they show there. Then a 1.5 TSI Mild Hybrid might well behave pulling away differently from a 1.5 TSI with a DQ200 or Manual. They did introduce them with the intention of dropping just the 1.5 TSI & DQ200 without electric assistance, it just has not happened yet. For Euro 7 emissions they will need to drop that combination.

Issues with Skoda Octavia 2021 combi 1.5 TSI
@Phoenixboy I take it you mean the car was bought and then sold by Motability and out leased. The driver might not have been disabled, it could be the passenger that leased the car as often is the case. Motability cars can have several drivers. The cars are serviced to manufacturers recommendations and with VW Group cars and Motability that is now commonly of Variable flexible, then the service before 2 years and the MOT a month or 2 early? Was you car serviced on Fixed Servicing so 3 Oil & Filter Changes, Inspection Services , or 2 and Extended Scope before the 3 years? Did the car get the Brake Fluid change at the last service?

- Octavia MkIV 1.5TSI Engine rattle
When people say they have the same engine they might mean they have a 1.5 TSI ACT EVO. If it is the same as an early or later engine is what matters really. It is great when people have en engine that VW group develop from the R&D that paying customers did for them because they had to mess about to get them WLTP certificated. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/477291-15tsi-old-or-new-dada-dpca- Help! My EPC (Emissions) or CEL (Check Engine Lamp) is on.
Hopefully they have checked the filler cap sometime since 2015.- What oil for 1.5 TSI ?
Maybe best that @Zoravarfirst gets the new car and maybe also a litre of oil compliments of the dealer and sticks with topping up with the oil the car left the factory with before going for a different spec. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/477291-15tsi-old-or-new-dada-dpca- Sudden braking for no reason
@Zoravar It is very much a possibility worldwide. Millions of cars with a system that for some is dodgy. The Insurance Companies keep insuring them and the countries authorities are not acting against the car manufacturers. All the social media / forums posts have achieved nothing. Individuals will just need to disable the system if it can not be adjusted or made fit for purpose. As with Lane Keep Assist or any other safety features that are in their opinion a hazard.- Inspection/service question
The Government word it about the Expiry of a MOT Certificate and are not clear on First MOT. Motability have cars MOT'd sometimes 2 months before 3 years old, then that brings forward by whatever the next one. If they are done in the 36th month then the date is preserved for the 2nd MOT. I would ensure the Haldex does get a correct service and not just the oil changed.- What oil for 1.5 TSI ?
Ask at the Dealership. You should be using the recommended oil for your country, and that appears to still be VW508 00 / 508 00, so 0w 20 FS IV. The alternative might be 0w 20 FS III which is VW504 00. But not the Oil recommended for your engine now.- Inspection/service question
@Nimby The Brake Fluid first change at 3 years and then each next is a Recommendation, even a Guideline or if called a scheduled item, then that. But the Brake Fluid can be checked for H2o content and some technicians or mechanics will test it as then ask if you want it changed, or you are asked when the car is dropped off. Maybe not with Skoda Main Dealer Oil & Filter Servicing and then the Extended Scope at 3 years and then each 2. That is the Fixed Servicing regime. Current MOT rules are that a MOT is due at 3 years from the first registration. It can be done in the month before and that keeps the date due. They can be MOT'd anytime you want in the 3 years & you do not need to wait 3 years. But then the next MOT is due 1 year on from that if before the 36th month.- Dealer requests my current car V5C
They would not know you were the owner, only the Registered Keeper'. As a proof of address it is OK, but like a Passport, not proof you actually live there. Fair enough if they want to check your finances, and if a car has finance on it, but they can do that. But they are not getting that car. PS I do get their backs up when i mention this is their full time job, are they waiting on training, or is their trainer!- New Citigo owner
Welcome. Have fun with it. The rear arches will have seen 7-8 winters of salt already. Check the fuel filler flap area for any sign of corrosion or having been painted. Best get behind well cleaned and treated with rust inhibitor.- the truth about electric cars
This crap can go on for weeks, even months when local councils are spending public money. The Charger installed, powered up for weeks and operating, bays painted in a stupid way. does not say 'Electric Charging bays', one sign to the left hand drive, nothing to the right bay, but matters not as really not in operation. Not that it says that, just the barriers there and the Temp notice saying awaiting longer cables. Bottom pic was taken on 3rd September 2022. It was powered up then and working. - Octavia MkIV 1.5TSI Engine rattle
