  1. a DQ200 DSG. Most VW group cars fwd, 250 Nm or under/ under 192 ps VW Group vehicle is almost certainly got a 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG. Skoda 180 ps and under. 150 ps & under ones after the Mk2 Fabia vRS. 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 TSI, 1.4 or 1.6 TDI. A Kodiaq 1.5 TSI DSG (DQ381) will be too big i take it.
  2. Welcome. @Damian@DPMwill be able to help. http://dpmperformance.co.uk
  3. Here we are. Sorted. http://mirack.com.au/product/xt-tilting-rear-wheel-carrier http://liftedimports.com/best-rear-tire-carriers-for-suv-subaru
  4. @R_U_AFA So you having lots of punctures and having to empty your boot regularly? Get a decent set of tyres on the car, maybe some Gravel Rally Tyres. Impeding rear vision is not an issue as people have vans or estate cars used as vans with no rear window.
  5. Which part of the MOT Inspection will it be. Then if the wheel is not on but if the bolts are through the bonnet is that a fail? Bull Bars do not fail and the bull bar legislation is from a certain date. Dangerous though. Front winches do not fail a mot. Dangerous though.
  6. Cars started arriving stickerless. That paint might be wrongly mixed but that is strange. The Dealership is going to have to check the VIN and the paint again. & use the colour samples. Is there no Motor Factor or Paint Supplier near you that can check the paint colour with a spectrophometer and mix the paint?
  7. Welcome. Fantastic. I think i would leave well alone and do oil and filter changes regularly, change the spark plugs if needed & the air filer and check the coolants strength. Others that know the engines might know better than me.
  8. The possibility that it would all have to close down, everyone leave & the flags even going to half mast.
  9. @hadleybuff So you have a Mk3. The DQ200 DSG has really been good with lower powered engines in the lighter cars and even heavier ones like the Octavia. The 1.0 TSI pre GPF and post GPF seem to be doing OK as well and there are emough that have done higher miles now & that are out of the manufacturers warranty. It would be good to hear the experience of those with a 1.5 TSI ACT with a DQ200 is a Mk4 Fabia. They should be good as the car is light enough and they are doing OK in the VW Group CrossOvers now after some early issues. PS I would love to know what your Dealer or the Technician at the dealer wants in the way of lubrication for the Turbo. Your car comes with 0w 20 FS IV oil and it can be on Fixed or Variable servicing. Maybe he / she thinks it should be on Fixed. ? Do they want you to sit with the engine running before you turn it off or some such nonsense? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/477734-10-tsi-115-engine-has-anyone-seen-big-miles-out-of-one-yet http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/494138-10-tsi-110hp-any-high-mileages-already
  10. I think the same, the LF7A with some suppliers & F7A with others. Plenty do touch up paint pens or paint or rattle cans. Years back Steel Grey was a different colour and was a Metallic in some World Regions.. Meteor Grey (Solid) as it was called in the UK was not Steel Grey (Solid) . http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/294417-meteor-grey
  11. LF7A should be the code. ? Have you shaken it, then shaken it again, and then kept on shaking it before trying on the car? What colour is the undercoat on your car, white or grey?
  12. What they got deliveries of at the time and were mounted on the wheels. So that was maybe months ago or last year for some cars getting delivered this year. It could be anything on your car and you will only know what when it arrives.
  13. @Plentyrightfoot I read your post in the MK4 register but i did not want to post there & you are the first member i have see in the UK as having one with a DSG. You commented on stuff you say you have read about them but i have not seen anything about a DQ200 DSG in a Mk4 from an owner. Maybe you could post something here about your car.
  14. A UK MOT would not be an issue, you would just remove it when going in for a test. An insurance Loss Adjuster / Accident Investigator / Police Officer might be interested if there was some accident not even if your fault. 'Styling and Car care' seems to be the wrong section as that is not styllee or even fugly in a nice way IMO. Nobody has ever failed a Land Rover / Jeep or whatever for having a spare wheel / tyre on the bonnet. But really why? Stylee, doing a long range event? Why not get a good string roof carrier and get it up there. Strengthen the hinges, strengthen the bonnet catch & do you plating under the bonnet and get a good bonnet stays fitted or assisters. Pity you do not have this model.
  15. @Andykodiaq When i ordered a Alhambra i went for the most basic one rather than the same advance payment top of the range with Motability. (It was to use as a van.) Reason being i wanted the lightest so most economic which was the 150 ps one on 16" rims / tyres not 18" as the 184 ps top of the range one, so cloth seats not leather, no electric sliding doors or rear hatch. No roof bars, no plastic chrome and a few other things, and i paid £200 for the Factory Privacy glass. I wanted to put on All Season tyres and not have electric doors. This was after having borrowed the Top of the Range one that the sales exec drove as his daily and finding out that it was a bit of a drinker and no quicker at 70 mph than the lower powered car even though the Brochure said it was much slower in acceleration and poorer in economy that the more expensive, heavier on wider and bigger tyred car. As it was the Basic Car turned up with more spec than it was supposed to and sadly horrible material on the seats. Extending the Lease is available on low mileage cars over the 3 years. Buying at the end of lease is a ridiculous price that they offer you. Best have a friendly BCA Account holder buy it at auction for you, but then you are against the trade but that still means cheaper than Motability Finance offered the car to you for. I had on cheap Airbag compatible seat covers until i got better ones and for winter and no heated seats a sheep skin rug. But i am not vegan....
  16. @Andykodiaq When do you expect to be able to have the Kodiaq delivered with Motability buying it, is it still the 31/32 weeks? I see the 1.5 TSI DSG SE Drive is £3,495 Advance payment & the 1.5 TSI DSG SE-L Executive is £3,995 Advance before any extras.
  17. Bentley , Audi and even VW had nice big engines with many cylinders and they can shut down half of them and still nip along. Ford and others as well. Petrol or diesels. Then there was Overboost. Good for kidology of emissions. VW had a V6 engine and a V5 one then came up with a 1 4 TSI (1,390 cc) that performed as well for bhp / Nm torque but using much less fuel. Load more oil maybe, but ok not if not thrashed. Volvo / Geeely developed things properly when Stefan Jacoby head of VW USA huffed off to be their CEO. (probably whistle blowing on VW Group and Defeat Devices with TDI's that he introduced to the USA.)
  18. Recall actions should appear there but ones like on the DQ200 DSG might not like from 2014 on '34F7' or on 2013 to 2015 DQ200 there is '34H5' started in 2017:that did not. These obviously do not affect the OP if this thread is about a manual. Just making the point do not trust the VIN checker but as well to try it.
  19. It does not matter if all is well with water pump and no overheating. But has this 1.4tdi had the Service campaign work carried out. Check with Skoda Dealership or Skoda UK just what servicing record and recall action or warranty record is on their system. Pinned thread at top of this section.
  20. They are running on Long Life oil for variable or fixed servicing which is really what Fleets want. The 5w 40 full synthetic oil you have in is not long life is it. VW 502 00 rather than the VW 504 00 / 507 00 they have recommended / specced.
  21. I never stayed to see him as the Tour De France coverage started at 1pm and that is 3 weeks of coverage now apart from the rest days.
  22. I had not seen this when i had watched the last vid i had linked of his. The comments with this one were funny. People obviously commented without having watched it all. As posted in the comments.
  23. If they could all do the same economy and emit the same emissions with the same models and different engine capacities from a 1.0 - 2.0 petrol / 113 ps - 300 ps then the VW Group would not have to have cheated the old tests and would have found it easy to get the models like a Golf certificated for the WLTP with equally low emission figures. They had to take the likes of the 1.5 TSI ACT that they thought would be fine and change the engine management and get the results but have them behaving terribly. They are making 1.0 TSI's with Mild Hybrid if they have a DSG and 1.4 TSI's as plug in Hybrids, and 1.5 TSI's / TFSI's have ACT / COD.
  24. Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicles have been doing OK and there are plenty to choose from now but they are not Plug in Hybrid Vehicles so just yet another choice. They do work as Taxis / Private hire vehicles and for business and private use. Very much part of the Electrification that Manufacturers are desperate to get out because for the WLTP / RDE2 they get the low emission numbers even if many driving them real world can not. But that is as with all fuel / energies, some can get economy and some can not.
