Advice on buying a low mileage car
I like to look at the windscreen. Any small chips or maybe lots of tiny specs. My cars get blasted with sand from a quarry so not a screen horrible from road miles, just were parked. A dealership might have the paint nicely refinished and looking showroom fresh but the car can have a screen that needs replaced if it annoys you in bright sunlight.

Advice on buying a low mileage car
@MrZ welcome. What are you buying a TSI or a MPI, a manual or a DSG? What servicing had been done, was it annual and extras like the brake fluid changed? There are cars about 20 years old that might do low annual mileages and in good condition, poor or terrible condition. But where they might be early or later in life matters. South or north of the UK. Anyplace in between. Near the coast and sea air. Parked all the time in the sun and all weathers. Winter salted roads etc. Each car and each owners treatment can be different. It is not guaranteed a be cherished 1 owner car has been better maintained than a many former keepers. Maybe the most recent owner has cared most for a car. Wiper blades might well have been changed or are needing. Front and rear. Tyres need looked at even though the car is low miles. It would be nice if there is not an odd tyre fitted recently and not matching the others or at least a pair. A Skoda approved used car does not mean that it has been serviced recently and a service would not be due in the next couple of months. ? Is it being sold with a new MOT,? Look at the last one and previous and any advisories at MOTs.

Revo or not ... for 2.0 TDI 150hp 340nm manual
When I take someone like a king it is just another press of the accelerator. I do not get all excited. If I get blown off because someone's car is quicker or they are happy to exceed the speed limit I am not upset. Usually I am 3 points off a ban. Several times I served the ban.

Delivery times?
This transport arrangement is very different from when Skoda / VW had cars not yet certified for the WLTP and they sat bunkered for months over winter in the country of production as they could not start a journey where they crossed borders even within the UK. As to the current situation in the UK which is not in the EU. VW group are not having cars imported into the UK and sitting longer than they have do be and not firstbregistered and bringing money in other than when they need to ensure the UK,s averaged Co 2 is not going to reached as needed in the period covered.

Some DQ200 from 2013-2015 have a service campaign action '34h5'. And this was and is a software update because of the failures which was a pressure issue. There is a thread in the yeti section last week and it has the link to the member that sells the Kits and also the company that refurbishes the MCU,s and boxes. I will bump that as I can not link it now.

Revo or not ... for 2.0 TDI 150hp 340nm manual
Good idea great watching cars going from 60-70 mph and a bit more on public forums / social media. Maybe a ringer or a look-a-likie. But then not all drivers are that good or cars in the best of nick.

Yeti 1.2 TSI (110) DSG (2016 (66) SE L) - Skoda approved warranty cover for clutch packs or other issues
Easy to average good mpg if the charging and length of trips work for the usage. Also location and weather. The 2.4 engine without charge in the battery Is a gas guzzler. I meet owners in Scotland who need or want AWD and are using them in colder weather a few months a year. Running them for business use was a different story in the saving on tax.

Looking for Yeti buying info
The zinc inclusion issue was not corrosion from the inside. It was the surface and then the exterior paint. Easy to find on a search but should have been dealt with and obvious if not properly repaired. New panels and not some attempt at repainting. Earlier cars though. The Haldex servicing is at 3 years or 30,000 miles or sooner so even at only 20,000 miles should have been done twice.

@Goob. You really need to seriously look at the PHEV Mitsubishi as the fuel economy is tragic. I have not run one myself but I meet those with them at charging hubs. They regret their purchase other than they charge free at 7kW chargers. They are often blocking charging bays for many hours to get free miles. Not many of those but still free. ? Will you have a home charger? Will you be able to get a off-peak tariff for charging? If charging 13kWh at a tariff of 28 pence a kWh than you will get maybe up to 30 miles for under £4, But when doing any distance and buying petrol it might be at around 30 mpg.

Rapid Spaceback rolling when in 'park'
@LB1985 Welcome. Sorry that when on a phone i did not see you were a new member. ? Who at a dealership tried to pan you off, were they a salesperson, the service desk or did you or they speak to a technician? It is down to them to have the car fit for purpose and check out if a fault and then to rectify.
-
2022 F1
They should use the tech available and stuff like from Formula-e. They know where the 4 corners of the car is or can do if they want, they know where the track is and the computers can tell where cars are the cut each other off. So show the driver in the cockpit automatically the 3 times off track because they can not slow and get around corners etc, or that they have obstructed another or what ever and then if they do it again to pit the car and their race is over. Stop their team having to communicate warnings or when to take a penalty. Make it clear to the driver, the spectators and the tv audience.

Knocking noise from engine 1.0 tsi
Go see a mechanic while you have the noise, get any fault codes read. You know the weather / temperature etc. Then also the oil level. Is there enough oil in. By dipping it not just going by a low oil light. Oil level cold and high enough. Also as a check needs doin, engine at operating temp. The difference is no much but you want to know both. The spark plugs need removed and inspected and since out as well to replace with new ones.

Rapid Spaceback rolling when in 'park'
P and the drive wheels locked is not secondary protection. It is the purpose of being in P / park so if broken needs fixed. Holding the car on steep slopes and no Parking brake applied and just reliant on the Pawl is an issue and can become and expensive. One. The owners manual always covered that.

Revo or not ... for 2.0 TDI 150hp 340nm manual
Every remapped car looks totally standard unless someone maybe puts a APR badge on trying to show the stage of tune. The question with a race is does the other drive know they are supposed to be in one! Or are they taken like a King while just driving along.

Knocking noise from engine 1.0 tsi
If the issue / noise / behaviour was not present before the service or a changing of the engine managenent then there is a high probability there is the starting point. Discus with who did the work.

Delivery times?
If in the UK maybe just concern yourself with Skoda/ VW UK who are the importer and information relating to the UK. What Skoda / VW in EU or continental Europe or other world regions say or do is a whole different matter.

Open golf St Andrews. Mercedes EV people carriers..
It is farcical. Even if charging on chargers using electric that is from renewables. More reviews needed showing the pathetic range of these Mercedes Luxury EV transporters with passengers and luggage. No chance of the usual thing of airport transport vehicle / minibuses for golfers with a trailer towed is very low as is the distance before needing to get on a charger. I might get pictures as the week goes on. I wait to see Mercedes UK trying to big up how successful their EV,s were in reduction pollution at the Open Golf. Maybe pictures of EV,s being transported on HGV,s to get to events rather than being driven to them on clean energy. The drivers being transported in other vehicles etc.

Knocking noise from engine 1.0 tsi
Welcome. Best give some clues. How old the car, how many miles done. When last serviced. Is it a 1.0 TSI with or without a GPF?
-
Open golf St Andrews. Mercedes EV people carriers..
Charging of EV,s being done using diesel generators. I hope the media pick up on this. Also the lack of range of these for drivers going to Edinburgh and Glasgow collecting people from flights. Edinburgh airport 30 minute max charge time other than at the Tesla supercharger.

Considering buying a Citigo, any advice please?
£3,500 seems to be about £700-£1,000 below the asking price for a Citigo ASG other than maybe the Cat D write off one in Autotrader. If there are any at that selling price best really check them out and see how they drive. More chance of finding a Mk2 Fabia for under £4000. They are going to be older though and probably a Tiptronic & not a DSG. Avoid a Mk vRS 1.4 TSI for £3,500.
