Hill hold :- Is it possible to activate the facility where the brakes are held on when stationary until you drive off?
@TerryJP That is 'Autohold' which require the car to have an e-Brake. The Hill hold assist which holds the car for few seconds between foot off brake and accelerator is enabled. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/504190-hold-hold-activation

Hold Hold activation
I am pretty sure you are stuck with just having Hill Hold Assist with your DQ200 DSG car without e-Brake. I can not see where you could code in 'Autohold' when there is a manual Parking / Hand Brake. If it can be done then Skoda would have that as an extra cost option.

TPMS problem on 2014 Greenline
Welcome. You have to stick with the Robert the Bruce Spider way first, try try and try again. Pressures as you want them cold, set the TPMS and run the car and hopefully the circumference is logged and the system is the one with the ABS / Sensors used and no Sensor Valves on the wheels. It can take a few times occasionally. Remember it is not always a loss of pressure / tyre circumference that triggers the warning. A binding brake or bearing overheating can cause a wheel to get hot and the tyre to expand. So if you get a warning check that a wheel centre is not too hot as well as checking the tyre pressures when the tyres are cold again.
-
Tyre monitor question?
So it thinks the circumference is less than what it was logged at when the tyres were at whatever pressure and the TPMS reset. It can be happy at what ever they are at and it is just looking for the change in how many rotations of a wheel and some are sensitive and none not. It is not always a loss of pressure that can set off the TPMS warning, a binding brake or overheating bearing and a wheel getting hot and a tyre expending can set it off.

WHEEL SPACERS
You do not service a bearing, but you check and maintain your cars and check for bearing play etc to be sure to be sure, especially after reading the Fear stories from you. & you are totally Correct, what happens in Motorsports vehicles that go on Public Roads in the UK and under MSA rules and scrutineering is well off topic and not relevant. Skoda have lots of modifications for Blue Light vehicles and your Wheel Chair Accessible vehicles have as well. Lets agree that muppets fit wheel spacers and there are as many muppets now as when you were younger. How we are still alive and have not been jailed for killing others with our unsafe vehicles i have no idea. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/265505-my-skoda-fabia-s2000-built-for-street Sadly the crazy wide spacers picture has gone from the thread. No wonder they were like something that 2 idiots that do a car remodelling car show, one a London Geezer and another from India fit. (The S2000 look a like in the line up is a 3 cylinder 1.2 with spacers but then it is just for shows)

WHEEL SPACERS
Skoda even fit wheel spacers to show cars they build. Damn big spacers on S2000 and R5 look a likies. They sell these cars on sometimes. Spacers to certain max widths are allowed in some motorsports including off-road motorsports. What matters with wheel bearings as with all components is inspection, serving and maintenance and not total muppetry when modifying vehicles.

Fabia 3 1.4 tdi dsg
Welcome. There is a pinned thread on the coolant / overheating thread back when the came out and after. Obviously that will be or should be a thing of the past and sorted by now, or so you have to hope. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/426322-recall-on-diesel-cooling-issue/page/5 A friends daughter in law had one with the water pump issue and a bad DQ200 DSG and punted it at a great loss of money because Skoda as usual were in denial. Maybe best look for a 1.2 TSI DSG unless you can be sure that the 1.4 TDI DSG has not been one with coolant / water pump issues back when or recently. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/443346-are-there-any-happy-mkiii-tdi-owners-not-strggling-with-water-pump-issues http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/469992-fabia-3-14tdi-cooling-issue

Superb IV improving battery performance
Sometimes you need to tell the Dealer Principal that their staff are not the owner of the car and you are. There is no Official Secret Act here or Data Protection giving them a right for them to know and you not know, because it is your car and you want to know what is done to it because that is how things work, you pay the money, buy things and if they have to do warranty work or service campaigns and Skoda / VW pay them. If it is Skoda UK that needs to divulge what is done to your car by their agents then ask them in writing because it is your property.

Yeti 1.8t
That can be the issue with a low mileage car that is 11 years old. A higher miles cared for one can have many new parts and be well looked after and loved.

SKODA FABIA II COMBI (545) 1.2 TSI
Welcome. Maybe post a picture of what you are left with and hopefully someone with the same engine as yours can tell you what theirs has. I do not know but i have seen 1.2TSI's with no cover. Seen this type of thing as well. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/504002-tsi-ignition-leads-cover-replacement-help

CDAA Exhaust
@CezarTheSalad Where about in the Borders are you? Are you near ? http://hrmotors.co.uk Maybe worth a try. Tyre & Exhaust centres are usually more helpful when not KwikFit or other major places and there are 3 places with good reputations in the Borders area.

Yeti 1.8t
@D_A_N Do you need a 4x4, is it a manual or DSG that you are after? Is there a max budget on the Yeti you get ? A 1.8TSI might be perfect if you can get a perfect one and you maybe can from an enthusiast that wants more money than a Dealer / Trader is offereing. Or they are being offered as a trade in. The thing is if there are ones that seem a great deal or bargain now you need to know why they are not snapped up already.

Yeti 1.8t
You can only lead a horse to water. Only VW / Skoda say the issue is overblown. Do not listen to forums. You are looking to buy one car so looking for the diamond not a lemon. Success story. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/452890-yeti-18tsi-brand-new-engine-a-success-story The real world where it is not only people with issues that come to forums, but sadly for VW Group enough do. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/266114-18tsi-and-20tsi-engine-failures/page/75

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
^^^ 45 pence a kWh is OK to get a fast charge IMO.

Yeti 1.8t
This will give some idea of the recommendation or guidelines from Skoda. Sadly with the haldex some dealerships think an oil change is enough and not proper servicing and maintenance of the system. You have other stuff to consider when looking at a car with Skoda Main Dealer Servicing. Was it just oil & filter servicing, minor / interim & major or Oil & Inspection & Extended Scope or were thing done like the Brake Fluid change, Spark Plugs, AC serviced etc.
-
Yeti 1.8t
Hopefully you can find one. Good ones are what people often keep and ones not so good are what they get rid of. Maybe a wanted advert on the likes of Briskoda will get you one from an enthusiast. Even low mileage you will need to see invoices to see what was done at Services and not just go with a FSH. So Haldex having an oil change and filter clean @ 3 year /30,000 mile or less intervals.

Hello all from me and my Yeti
Welcome. The OP has not signed in since 2019. Someone will know the answer I expect.

Yeti 1.8t
Welcome. High miles really is not the possible issue. A high mile one might be fine or had any issue resolved. Maybe a rebuilt engine or a replaced one.

Brake lights staying on in stop/start
Regardless of how some modern Automatics might work or have been allowed to with EU Construction and use the UK Highway code is still relevant in the UK. VW Group had up to 5 years ago cars with DSG's where 'autohold' on did not have the rear brake lights applied. Many drivers just drive, do not really bother about what the highway code might say because cars can do it all these days and if extra lights are on or no lights other than front DRL's because 'autolights' decides others can see the back of a car in poor visibility.

Possible hybrid turbo fitted??????
@cameronjones67 Welcome. Just a small point for others, Your cars oil consumption is not within tolerances just because VW Group owners manuals for over a decade say that all engines 3,4,5,6,8 cylinder petrol or diesels May use as much as 0.5 litres in 1,000 km. (621 miles). That is not acceptable oil use and if you can find in writing that that is within tolerance please link that. 0.3 litres per 1,000 km oil use has been enough for VW Group to have to replace engines under warranty.

Cold start issues
@LukeG99 I just wondered if 'The Fix' had been done while you had the car or before. It is a software update and a flow device in the air intake on 1.6 TDI CR's. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions This might show as not affected which could mean it was done, or it might show as outstanding.

Karoq 1.5 TSi DSG 150 PS Petrol grade (UK)
@CJJE Half the EU countries when the WLTP was introduced did not sell E10 and all i have ever seen is that 95 octane is used for testing. There are those in the EU that wants E20 brought in.

EV real world range and cost to charge
@Titanium_Man It is, but saving spending money is appealing. It all went smooth after the crap that comes with Edinburgh City Council having not a clue, and i never paid for more than 8 gallons of go go juice just the £6.16 and that was worth the 3 hours charging instead of maybe £61.60. I passed filling station charging 182.9 pence a litre for diesel.
-
EV real world range and cost to charge
93 miles on and had 30% and 45 mile range showing. Charging quickly to 90% for free. Then have to go 10 miles and can charge on a 7kW free for an hour. Set off with 98% to head home. 90 miles to get on a charger and get enough to get 60 miles home. Charging free before getting into Angus.

EV real world range and cost to charge
First 27 minutes charging showing on account. 17.6 kWh was £6.16. so 17.6 x 3 miles is about 53 miles for that cost. If that is all it costs for 350 miles then good. 350 miles @35 pence a kWh would be cheaper than petrol. If paying 50 pence or more a kWh then not worth it over a good economy car.
