  1. Motability scooters are a whole different Kettle of fish baskets and classes by speed and no UK driving licence needed or test taken to use ones for the road or pavement / paths. They can be registered with the DVLA and have a free VED. Some car ljcence holders can still ride mopeds on their car licence. And some disabled different weight of trikes and quads without the same test/ licence held that an able bodied person needs. There are exclusions and terms on adaptions / conversions. The DVLA fire at Swansea in the 1980,s was blamed on many no longer have motor bike entitlement on their licence now or on renewal. You had to fight for the ride to party or ride the dream.
  2. Or even new genuine OEM pads without a little copper slip on the rear as they leave the factory. Cars can sit bunkered for near a year part built before ever getting to a dealer, then a PDI where little is done. So many reasons for squeeks. When a pad is spotted worn It is as well to service brakes and fit new pads. That low friction material pad can fail at any time. They are cheap parts to replace. Leaving is a false saving. And the mechanic had the car. Obviously was just doing a look see. 40 minutes work and the brakes could have been cleaned and greased.
  3. I have never understood the removing of a tuning box when a car goes in for a service. If you run it that way and it is just getting oil and filter servicing maybe plugs changed and plugged in to see if any fault codes read the box might as well be still fitted. You would surely not be making a warranty claim and pretending no tuning box had been fitted.
  4. Sorry I read your post wrongly.
  5. So a picture of what is fitted is what is needed and buy online. Or best get a new set of decent ones the come with a good quality socket. Or risk it for a biscuit and bin the 4 and get 4 regular bolts, but then you need 4 plastic covers.
  6. @rum4mo You missed the threads and pictures then, i have read them.EDIT, sorry I read that wrong. My bad. Try Google or Google images. Briskoda brake disc delaminate http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/446611-rear-brake-discs-new-kind-of-problem http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/500870-brake-discs
  7. Skoda / VW Customer Services. Anywhere, anytime, it could be Leeds, if it was in the Far East maybe someone would know about the tech.

Welcome. There will be a fix eventually. There have been already and yet people still have the fault. But then Dealership staff will possibly tell you 'Never heard of that before', others will say, 'They all do that and we will contact the factory'. Then there is 'The Factory are launching a software update. Loads of threads in various sections of this and other forums on the issue. The Dealership Master Tech and the Workshop Manager should know the story even if the Service Desk receptionist does not. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501577-sos-error-phone-workshop-gremlin http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/503583-software-update http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493505-brand-new-scala-sos-emergency-call-fault https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/may/01/vw-audi-and-skoda-owners-angry-over-fault-in-sos-warning-system
  9. The Full Service History should be a full history of the servicing then. Just showing Minor / interim & Major Services or Oil & Inspection services and Extended scope is not a Full History. Showing when the Brake Fluid was changed, Pollen filter, Air Filter, Spark plugs changed and when is a FSH. Then any warranty work or Service Campaign work done like '34H5'. EDIT. This is not relevant with a 66 plate Yeti.
  10. If sluggish / hesitant under throttle then consider that all is not well. It is a revvy engine and inclined to spin the wheels away from junctions, so well serviced and issue free is important before any remapping. ? How many miles on the car and when were the spark plugs changed? The DQ200 DSG's from 2013-2015 might be part of the Service Campaign '34H5' which was a Software Update. So you check if it was one that should have had that and it was done. Remapping an engine and a DQ200 DSG is fair enough but buying a used one you really want a valid warranty until you know you bought a good one and not invalidating the warranty if the car comes with one, or it is bought from a trader or dealer you have comeback on.
  11. Plenty owners have enough issues getting the plastic cover off the bolts if they are tweezer less. The security bolts are basically made of chocolate, too often over tightened, they might deter a thief getting the wheels off as much as they stop the owners.
  12. @HightowerDL Is this a 1.2 TSI with a DSG that you are getting? Best see that all is well with the DSG and that there are good tyres fitted before going for a remap.
  13. Best get the car and see that all is well first and you have no issues. Be sure the servicing is up to date, good air filter and plugs fitted etc. If the 1.2 TSI with a stage 1 remap did actually get 138 bhp that would be pretty good. That will be on E5 Super Unleaded probably so 99 ron, or maybe 97 ron. Is the Tuners chart showing that as being on 98 ron which you can not buy in the UK. ? What do they show for 95 ron? http://awesomegti.com http://goapr.co.uk http://onlyrevo.com
  14. What do you want, 3 more for the other wheels, or the socket to get one or all off? Or a new set. Take a picture of the one you have got. There are plenty diagrams in Google Images or online showing which nut style / pattern is which. Having no security bolts fitted is unlikely to end up with your Fabia wheels getting pinched. If anyone wants them they will get them off security bolt fitted or not.
  15. Call Skoda Assist and say you are scared to drive. They can read the fault codes. You paid for that. It is the AA that respond. 0800 526 625 Then Skoda Fixed Price Servicing and maintenance is £60 inc VAT for the first 30 Minutes of a diagnosis, and that diagnosis starts with plugging in to the OBD. But no need to be paying that.
  16. Welcome. I hope you are going to go do a few hours towing with the caravan & car loaded in advance of setting off on your long trip. Car tyre pressures set as they will be with the van on and car loaded. That should let you become familiar with the DSG with the van on. Shifter into D and drive. Easy enough to try the shifter back to S. It holds the gears longer. No idea why you would use a Sport setting, maybe the person advising means the other settings the car has. You will know within a few miles of having to drive in stop start traffic or hills what suits you. A mod might move your post and the caravan towers in the Superb section can help. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502824-your-thoughts-on-towing-a-heavy-caravan
  17. Well first and foremost it is contracted out Customer Services and people who seem to be trained to refuse almost everything and let the paying customers fight for the right to have vehicles of merchantable quality. You have a bunch of people who might have been selling trainers in a shop recently that are now panning off Skoda / VW Group car owners.
  18. 40,000 mile interval for those requiring that. There are also DQ381 that are 80,000 mile intervals. UK main dealer price might well be £215. It could be cheaper and could be more. Those with a DQ200 being given a price for an oil change need to ask the receptionist to go speed with someone that knows about cars.
  19. http://fleetnews.co.uk/news/manufacturer-news/2016/02/10/seat-and-audi-co2-emissions-figures-revised-upwards List on page 2.
  20. Petrols / Co2. Cars were retested, some were bought back / discontinued and the story got mixed up with the defeat device scandal. It was actually about 3 VW Group brands submitting their test results carried out at different test centres. https://autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/vw-emissions-scandal-nine-vw-vehicles-have-false-co2-ratings @Avocet Who is it you actually work with and have you been in that job or industry for long? I just ask because you say you have not seen stuff being done, so are you at test centres in the UK or Continental Europe? The VW's had to be retested after 2015 in the UK, well some had to be and VW Group were to pay for it, but the shelled out a million and a bit and then were let off. Cars were coming off ferries and going for testing. Were you part of that? Pants on fire. VW UK CEO at a period in time. https://am-online.com/news/car-manufacturer-news/2017/02/21/vw-boss-called-a-liar-by-mps-after-giving-emission-scandal-evidence Lots of i do not knows & @1 hour 24 mins on. Just part of those with the years in the industry and not aware of well published events.
  21. @TurbovskiWhat exactly is a Tesla Turbo 2022? People and their Turbo dreams!
  22. No idea but nobody mentioned Sorentos unless i missed that. But then i suppose a SUV driver will be wanting a SUV. The biggest one or maybe just a Sportage.
  23. Depends how lucky you feel and did you buy those cloths pegs, and maybe if you have driven the car from new. Officially you will be told @ 5 years. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502505-engine-failure
  24. @SurreyJohn Does a new Kia from Slovakia or a Hyundai from the Czech Republic take any longer to arrive in the UK than a Skoda or VW?
