  1. On the OEM sized tyres brand new and at ECO tyre pressure your speedo is over reading. At 60 mph driving to a roadside Speed sign you are probably at 58 mph. With the Speedo at 70 mph maybe 67 mph on the digital sign. There is the supposed 10% plus 2 mph allowance in England and Wales with Police Chief Constable advice on speeding offences and prosecution. Do not rely on that, especially not in Scotland.
  2. It certainly is a no go when it does not work on some cars DSG's, but then when it does it does. No harm is done by trying the way that others do and tell you how to and that it worked. As it is you can lend your car to someone, get it back behaving like crap, take it out and drive your way and all is well again. This can be the case with Demonstrators, Courtesy cars, hire cars etc and something that motoring journalists seem to miss, they slag a DSG forgetting that another motoring journalist had the car out before them.
  3. Still £105 if the car has a 3 cylinder engine. (So is it profit and VAT equalled out, some get 3 plugs, some get 4 and the same charge is made!) The price of the Air & Pollen filters certainly allow a nice profit considering you are paying for a Oil & Inspection Service and maybe Extended Scope. If they were actually 'Inspecting' an Air Filter it takes no extra time taking out the old one and putting in the new one.
  4. @CarlstonExactly. Nail on the head. Are you in the UK? No point asking drivers if a car is modified if they are just buying a car as you say or driving someone else's etc. so will not know if as it left the production line. Loss adjusters are good at checking social media, Asking claimants if they can check their Credit or Bank accounts if they suspect a vehicle was modified by them. They are looking for a purchase. The claimant will be asked to sign a claim and that might ask if they modified the vehicle. There have been members here that made a claim and then withdrew it after being made aware of what it means if making a fraudulent claim. When deciding what is or is not declarable many will ask the people on the end of the line that answer phones. Sometimes you have to ask them to ask someone that knows their arse from there elbow and the difference from a roll cage to an anti roll bar. Or ask the Underwriter. https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/blog/2020/10/how-popular-modifications-affect-your-car-insurance.html UK Insurance typically covers the vehicle, it in 2 parts, the 3rd party cover, as a minimum, then the Fire & theft or fully comprehensive. it is the vehicle that is insured, group, fleet etc and then the driver or drivers of the vehicle according to the type of cover. You have named drivers or permitted drivers etc.
  5. I expect they have since they changed their name. https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/vehicle-and-operator-services-agency PS. @Carlston Small print is very very important. & declaring mods. Insurers might actually insure cars that turn out to be illegal and not pay out to the policy holder, they will to 3rd Parties though.
  6. A Service Plan needs looked at to see if it is just Oil & Inspection Services and then Extended Scope because that is not to Manufacturers Recommendations. THERE WERE DIFFERENT GRADES/ LEVELS OF SERVICE PLANS AVAILABLE. See 'SKODA BESPOKE PLANS.' https://skoda.co.uk/owners/bespoke-plans https://skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-offers So Brake fluid at 3 years and each 2 years. Pollen Filter @ 2 years. Haldex or VAQ @ 3 years / 30,000. DSG Oil change @ 40,000 miles. Air Filter, Spark Plugs are extras, AC is extra. So you need to look at what you want doing and when and what is or is not included. http://skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price Scroll down for what they now call a 'Schedule' but they never used to and many Skoda Approved cars are not serviced to the Recommendations because they had been on a 'Service Plan' / Fleet Servicing. DSG is at 40,000 miles, or with some 80,000 miles, not @4 years as looks like here.
  7. The UK maybe needs to discuss with the EU Commissioners the crap OEM / ECO Tyres that EU Car Manufacturers fit to vehicles capable of 155 mph. Good for WLTP / RDE2 results maybe but even at UK NSL's pretty damn crap even if there is no rain, cold, ice or snow. The UK could maybe specify that UK manufacturers or those importing cars fit a better quality of tyre. That does not mean more expensive, just tested differently and to a higher standard of grip. Having the correct Speed & Load ratings obviously mean that Technically they are legal even if total crap ditch finders from the biggest named European & World Wide manufacturers.
  8. @Carlston Where do we find 'Technically Illegal' and compare to 'actually Illegal' in the UK. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/503534-erto-approved-rim-widths-for-passenger-car-tyres https://www.etrto.org/About-us/ETRTO There are those that will not fit a pair of new tyres only to the front of a FWD or AWD car or even a RWD car because they say 'they would be technically responsible' & this is against advice. People go elsewhere and get them fitted. In the UK on the public highway going more than 2 1/2 times the NSL or 2 times & more over the 70 mph limit will be illegal.
  9. @Carlston London and regions are not that well known for outdoor winter sports or much winter weather or adverse road conditions. Plenty 4x4's around for some reason though. PS. Haldex does not actually put power through all 4 wheels if there is ones slipping at the front or rear, it might nip the brakes to try to get drive to tyres. Wrong tyres and there is no traction and that is then about getting going, for braking and slowing it really makes little difference.
  10. @meekhongIs it a Front Wheel Drive 1.6 TDI or an AWD? (Has haldex and a different DSG) If FWD then the DQ200 has 2 oils, in the box and in the MCU. The Clutches are dry. If you have a DQ200 they should have told you no DSG Oil change required. (You can have it changed if you want, people do, but the person needs to know what they are doing.)
  11. How many km ago was the oil change done? You have a DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch that does not require Oil Changes and which there are no recommendations, guidelines or schedule for oil changes. ? Did whoever did the oil change know their stuff, use the correct oil etc?
  12. Welcome. Which engine does your car have. and how many km had the car done before the DSG had an oil change and is this only happening since the oil change.
  13. Correctomundo. That was long enough and cars laid up waiting for sales. People buying a car might normally want a new MOT before collecting it. Lots of cars sat about, and some just go about with Trade Plates used. Many in the 6 month period were just changing hands with the MOT current on them. It can account for 18 months between MOTs,. Or even 19. Then some until a buyer comes along. The car with the MOT history shown certainly was not clocking up many miles between MOTs in the past 2 years.
  14. I was looking at the 65,000 mile car, my bad. Is it the one with no Mot between 2019 until 2022? Just 3,000 miles done in that time and lots of miles done a few times in the past between MOT's. (I know there was lockdown and no need to get a MOT)
  15. @GrayedoutUK @58,000 miles is fair enough if that was not the first and only time done. But as long as there is a warranty and it covers the DSG then all should be good. Brake fluid should have been changed once or maybe twice by now or at least checked for H20 content.
  16. @Dale_Stevens might see your question now @AndyO2
  17. OK. So does the Service Record show the DSG serviced @ 40,000 miles?
  18. The coming to a stop is with the foot on the brake so yes. But then if Stop / Start is active then while in D the engine might stop, or Autohold is active. So whatever, you apply the e-Brake before moving the shifter through N & R to P.
  19. @GrayedoutUK Did you get the car? Was it the one in Southport?
  20. You fit your wheel /tyres, reset the TPMS and even if the tyre pressures are all a bit different maybe even a spare of a slightly different size is fitted, or different sized pair front and rear are fitted and the system does not have a flaky.
  21. @Jcb05 They must know by the code they get if built and complete or incomplete. If built and complete surely it would show the code waiting for transportation. ? What is it you are getting? http://electrive.com/2022/04/24/uk-skoda-cuts-enyaq-60-due-to-supply-issues
  22. Bump for the new member from Australia.

The warranty would have to be very good and get the car a new engine for a 10 year old car. And when the warranty expires you would want to be able to get another. A Briskoda member in the UK bought a 1.8tsi from Evan Halshaw and was fortunate enough and did all the right things and got a new engine. There is a thread here on that.
  24. ? Is it not still at £32,000. Same point though. https://electrive.com/2022/04/24/uk-skoda-cuts-enyaq-60-due-to-supply-issues Once the EV Battery shortages and chip / materials shortages are over and VW Group / Skoda can get EV's into the UK they might well have to be offering cheaper ones with smaller batteries again, but only if they are not get sold all the EV's they can ship in.

@gs800 Welcome. Sorry, Just spotted you are a new member and in Australia. Missed the g'day. (I was on a phone when i posted and did not see this.) I assumed it was 133,000 miles and never considered it as being km. Still condition condition condition and servicing and maintenance and actual jobs done that matters.
