DSG service confusion
Skoda / VW have had 1 1/2 decades now of it never being clear to owners / drivers of cars with a DSG / s-tronic which version it is on any vehicle or what the Service Schedule / Recommendations or Guidelines are. It is not really too much to expect that them to, or that Main Dealership Service Desk Staff should know which has which and what the Servicing required is, or if none is required or 'recommended'. IF anyone has a link to an official publication with guidance on DSG Service / Oil Change intervals from Skoda CZ, or UK or from any other world region with Skodas please post them. If you scroll down on this you see where Skoda have no mention of which DSG's they are showing the interval for. https://skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price

Visually etc. My car of the day -today
This caught my eye off in the distance because of how bright the colour and i thought it was a new Skoda Enyaq Coupe. Brighter orange than that on Peugeot's. I had parked next to an Arkana the other day and it was green and surprised me how big it was.

DSG service confusion
@kodiaqsportline your road to learning is going well. If you stop trying to slag me as you do then it might help others. The ops question was ok. The actual car needed knowing and that was in the OP. Then which DSG was fitted You confused on your post about your DSG,s and 80,000 miles and your DQ200. Read again what you posted . You have a DQ381 That is on your Kodiaq . @kodiaqsportline finally you found had which DSG,s you have and their service needs. Your Kodiaq requires the 80,000 mile change. Your Karoq does not. Before this thread you wanted others to be find out which DSG they had. It has been clear for over a decade that DQ200,s do not have serviced schedules. Only some seem to be told this is the case with other DSG,s as well.

Reduce speed limits to support Ukraine?
Snowed here as well, had to de-ice cars in the morning and had the heating off for weeks now. But my house has been bl00dy cold. I am being tight and living by my means and cutting cloth etc etc. I will maybe do more cutting when the UK government start rationing fuel once they do stop all imports from Russia or from countries buying from Russia which includes EU ones.

Reduce speed limits to support Ukraine?
? Has anyone here actually now reduced the speed they normally drive at to reduce income to Russia or decided not to use their vehicle, maybe turned their home heating totally off if they would still have it on at this time of year or in this weather?

EV Service costs, there is stuff that needs doing as the years and miles go on, & more than just a look see.

- Not cheap....actually rather expensive starting at £17,000. Seat Ibiza 2022. Sorry wrong section i know but looks good to me.
A fair review. A car for the National Trust set (I am a National Trust Scotland member) and not so cheap anymore just another VW Group model that has grown over time. Dacia is the new Skoda.- Reduce speed limits to support Ukraine?
@J.R. The groan is for you just assuming that people that sign up to the suppliers are doing so because of what you posted. There are people who are just looking for getting a deal and maybe offpeak electricity and nothing more than that. The electricity is produced by someone somewhere, and what is wrong is the contracts that pay some more not to produce but to be on standby, or those with contracts to supply at ridiculous prices agreed many years ago. The firing up of coal powered stations this year and the cost of that because the spending is not done on connecting new generation to the grid. Obviously there are those that suck up the spin. The Regulators are in the conspiracy with the government. Carbon Trading is the biggest of cons. Now there is the buying up of land in Scotland for companies Carbon-offsetting and the land prices are going stupid.- Reduce speed limits to support Ukraine?

Total crap from Eon Next about 100% Renewables / Sustainable etc. Bio-mass plant in Lockerbie and burning woodchips etc. There really is a con going on with lower emissions while power stations and huge polluters.- Reduce speed limits to support Ukraine?
He is right on fire. And pays for his source of road fuel unless he maybe runs on WVO. I am sitting another 10 minutes and will be charged for free and it will get 130 miles or so before the next free charging. It obviously costs others for us to be lucky like this. I see the solar panels, and the wind farm but no idea if the electric in the storage battery came from there. I will just stick to the speed the traffic around me is going at and if I want to donate to the Ukraine I have the money I saved from buying fuel to do so.- Reduce speed limits to support Ukraine?
@PetrolDaveVery true. They can just know how those they pay generate and source the electricity they produce and put onto the National Grid and then in some places around the UK does not have any use going to the grid because the transmission is far too expensive or there is no interconnectors.- E10 fuels
Things might come out in the wash. Eventually. https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/dark-money-investigations/climate-change-appg-mps-lobbied-e10-petrol-funded-bioethanol-industry-fuel- Reduce speed limits to support Ukraine?
@Pete_Ex-Wino If a Nuclear Power Station in Scotland produces 1/4 of Scotlands needs and the Renewables can produce over 90% of Scotlands needs and then there is still some produced from Gas there is a lot of generated electricity and more than needed to exporting and sometimes importing. The difference with the UK is there are 4 Nations and one of them like Scotland has under 8% of the total population. England is not the UK just a very populated part of it that needs resources from other parts. Greenwashing is certainly an issue, but so is those that choose to not open their minds and look at facts or factoids. England will get it's Green Hydrogen because the son of the owner of JCB will get all the support needed from the Conservative Government. Scotland will just have to get on with getting it quicker because electricity is easily produced when the infrastructure is there rather than being talked about and planning refused & maybe in a decade might be up and running. Jo Bamford.- My Insurance notified me of my vehicle involved in an accident! Seems very easy to prove it was not thankfully.
Larry. What a difference between Lloyds and AVIVA. AVIVA not able to deal with my Communications as it will have to be the Claims Department next week. LLoyds have people on the phone on a Saturday morning and very very pleasant and things are easily resolved.- Skoda Recalls, there are just so many, and so many that never hear of them.
Sorry that VIN checker often has Recalls, and Recall actions that do not show. It is pretty hopeless. But there was no recall concerning, timing chains, water pumps, injectors, DSG, ignition leads, turbo shims, etc. There are TPI,s for some. Workshop Service Campaigns,. Or just Skoda Secret Service Campaigns. More likely to find out about then on Social Media than from Skoda or Dealerships.- Fuel requirement
Ethanol for the UK was going to be coming from producers of Bioethanol in the UK. But the UK government kept pushing back on the 95 Ron E10 becoming what had to be on sale. The companies never got the support from the UK government meaning the companies struggled. New times, Brexit, Covid, wars and the UK will do trade deals, just not EU ones. Times will change. EDIT. This popped up in my mailbox. https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/dark-money-investigations/climate-change-appg-mps-lobbied-e10-petrol-funded-bioethanol-industry-fuel- My Insurance notified me of my vehicle involved in an accident! A fiasco with AVIVA and call menu and everything directs you to to doing stuff online and 3 or 4 menu choices of speaking to someone puts you back to a menu. Eventually got a human home worker. Customer Services is Cliosed, Claims are Closed, the matter is for Claims. The fact that in 2020 it was supposedly sorted, and then when they doubled renewal last year it was sorted puts me back in the hands of Claims on Monday. At least i now have a phone number. Well i have a number, that does not mean i will not end back on the Answer Machine and Menu. @Liger1956 First time i have seen CUE used. MID i use often.- Skoda Recalls, there are just so many, and so many that never hear of them.
@PietroMar Welcome to the forum. Best you post in the relevant section for your age of Octavia. ? What year is it. ? When was it built? There was never a Recall Action or Service Campaign on the Timing Chain Tensioner. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions- Skoda Superb automatically switched to S instead of D on the display
S is still allowing the gears to change Automatically, the gears just hold to a higher RPM. You can select D or S. Or go to manual shifting. Your servicing might be fine and not an issue, especially as you seem to have not tried out your DSG and choices of ways of using it. Best Confirm the DSG is serviced with an Oil Change when required and not assumed it was done if no evidence with an Invoice or Receipt.- Going light at speed ?
What was the actual tyre pressures at the heat the tyres were at after 8.5 hours of a drive and what was the ambient and road surface temperatures? That is what can happen with some vehicles at sometimes on some roads. Many have driven a Minor 1000 and many other vehicles and experienced Oo-sh!t moments. Roads get resurfaced, weather and road & air temperatures change, wind direction and atmospheric pressure change and so can vehicles as they suspension and tyre rubber ages.- Reduce speed limits to support Ukraine?
So Half or more. Pick a figure any figure. 100% of Road Fuels requires Electricity to produce it and much of that now comes from renewables. But the product all comes from under the ground and then gets transported to be made into road fuels, then after it becomes the product. Use your figures, use your head and open your eyes. http://gridwatch.co.uk England does have lots of people and homes and businesses and requirement for electricity and the need to buy it in from other countries. England will get it's new Nuclear Plants eventually and more offshore wind because obviously looking at Wind Turbines onland is only for those in the top 1/3 of the UK and plebs southerners should not have them imposed on them. .- My Insurance notified me of my vehicle involved in an accident! So i have an Email this morning from LLOYDS Insurance. A CUE Notification (Claims Notification Exchange) shows them i had a 'At no fault accident claim' on the 22nd November 2020. EDIT. So the supposed accident that that prompted me to start this thread. They will add this to the terms of my Policy & Premium details, or i can have AVIVA correct this, send confirmation,& have it changed with the CUE. So more messing about yet to go on with AVIVA for a while. Phone lines should be open, email already sent. - 2021 Dacia Sandero Stepway
