  1. Suck some petrol from the bottom of the tank when the level is low and see if there is water in it. Simple. 10 minute job. If not then not the problem.
  2. Have a Skoda Dealership do the adjustment ASAP as the Warranty is 6 months / 6,500 miles for adjustments. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf
  3. @Joss1733 Just being nosy but what was plugged in and drawing power to flatten the cars battery?
  4. But first pursue Full Main Dealer Servicing to Manufacturers recommendations and never ever any indication that there are Service Recommendations on the VAQ Diff.
  5. We are @ 2022 now. So prices changing. Some are POA so 'Ask prices' I can post you the Service Sites for Skoda Fixed prices as they are all in Google Images etc. Pre See the new Service & Maintenance Website. https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price *** I have never seen Skoda UK / CZ or any VW Group site mention the VAQ Diff.***
  6. Bump. ? Who has had their VAQ e-Diff Serviced at a Skoda Main Dealers and how much were you charged for this? Or, who has a car with a VAQ e-Diff and has never been told about Servicing in the first 3 years while under warranty and being serviced or since the manufacturers warranty ran out? Owners beware if not following Manufacturers Recommendations if they make recommendations that is. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501456-front-fifferential-to-gearbox-oil-leak.
  7. Well tell them that. They have been very very lax. The Service is what you pay for. Are you on a Service Plan? Oil & Filter Changes of the Engine. DSG, Haldex, Brake Fluid, Air Filters, Pollen Filters. Spark Plugs are all extras, as is AC Servicing. ****VAQ E-Diff servicing does not get mentioned by Skoda Main Dealers or Skoda UK.**** SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf
  8. Was the VAQ diff serviced to Manufacturers Recommendations and were you ever told what those were? That would be the thing the Dealership that has been doing the Servicing to the manufacturers Recommendations / Guidelines Service Desk staff that would need to be telling you. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/494489-front-differential-service-vrs-245
  9. Has the salesperson given you a hard copy of the T&C,s to read before you might enter a Financial / insurance deal?
  10. @nta16when you do get the chance to read the pinned threads you will see what was tried over the production years of the CAVE 2010-2012 then CTHE. The changes first with the spark plug type, then the breather and software updates. Then the revised engines and still some with excessive oil use. Still some getting another breather mod, Australia. Then the Oil Spray Jets and another software update. Under 3,000 Skoda Twinchargers in the UK. Some on rebuilt engines, then new base engines. Some even on a 3rd engine. The strange case even of 2 with a 4th engines fitted. The warming up is not the issue. The fouling of 1 spark plug very much is and that plug getting cooked. But since the Twinchargers in the VW,s Audi's and Seat,s had the same potential issues it is all documented. There are early cars in the UK like the first 50 that are still running the original engine. There are plenty remapped, using different plugs and maybe not long life oil and some with long life. There was about a 25% failure rate in the CAVE cars, 2010-2012 then on. That was with sh!te Castrol oil or even Quantum Long Life. Often the cars were running too little oil and running hotter than was good for them but plenty like that survived. Many cars left Main Dealers with far too low a quantity of oil and some way overfilled. Sales people and Service Desk staff were some of the least informed and killed many a car saying they all do that as the drove Demonstrators and Sales cars and waited for Low Oil lights or Messages before a car ever got the oil dipped or topped up and not topped up enough. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/294051-cave-cthe-14tsi-just-reply-please-if-you-have-had-an-engine-replaced http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/353149-fabia-mk2-vrs-14tsi-replacement-engines-replaced-how-many
  11. Sometimes I just sit and sometimes I sit thinking. So since 2011 in Scotland about £50 million has been spent on Public EV chargers and CPS. 5.5 million people in Scotland. So maybe £9 per person over that period in time. Less than £1 a year. If we think of the cost of the New Queensferry Crossing which many will never use but their goods are crossing that gives a per person cost comparison. £1.35 billion. That is useful for Scottish citizens, visitors, business and commerce and the Economy. Just like Public EV charging.
  12. It was fairly serious 9 years ago. Some are still driving cars from then and now in 2022 some areas of the UK have no better infrastructure for charging.
  13. @nta16. People tried race oils and the best they could buy. None of that mattered for road use. 5w 40 FS was perfect. The Long Life Oil and Super unleaded which is the recommended petrol for Twinchargers could be an issue. Bore wash was an issue. The engines did not require Long Life oil and more detergents in the petrol. If you are interested in some history then there is pinned threads up top. Including links to Lucifers Guides part one and 2 and the oil thread with many many pages.
  14. Real world from South to London & Back. Except not all can just swap cars. & some might just say give me a petrol or diesel and big enough. 44 pence a kWh would mean 50 kWh costs £22 and 3.1 miles a kWh would take you 155 miles. 25 pence a kWh x 50 = £12.50 50 pence a kWh x 50 = £25 69 pence a kWh x 50 = £34 to travel 155 miles. Compare with a diesel getting 52 mpg @ £6.90 a gallon costing £20.70
  15. @nta16 @Kobayashicar was an excessive oil user. It got the Oil Spray Jet upgrade done. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/453521-any-pics-of-oil-squirter-location-vrs-14 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/420740-mk2-fabia-vrs-aka-green-monster The Twincharger oils be it 5w 40 FS so VW502 00 or 5w 30 FS III VW504 00 507 00 times to get to an indicated 50*oC then to 92 *oC or so has been getting covered since 2010 with the CAVE and then 2012 with the CTHE. They are not that slow getting up to heat in warmer weather with the oil for Fixed Servicing or the Variable but in temps nearer freezing it can be as much as 20 miles to get to 90*oC indicated, or in some cases not even get to that. Average Temps has been covered since the early days and the difference of standard, stage 1 or 2 in times to heat to an efficient operating temp with the different oils is not much different. You will notice if driving them how the oil too low gets hot rather quickly and the temp comes down slower, that is if paying attention, sadly too many never paid attention to running with low oil and with only a 3.6 litre capacity according to Skoda the oil could be 1.3 litres low and no low oil warning light or message came up. It could be Low Oil Pressure that showed first. I used to run 3.9-4. litres of 5w 40 FS. There were dealership techs that put in that much oil. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/235544-average-vrs-oil-temperature http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/282056-at-what-oil-temperature-in-a-vrs-or-other-fabia2-do-you-back-off
  16. @KobayashiAre you sure that was the Fuel filter each 2 years and not the Pollen. The Main Dealers Servicing Schedule when it was Minor and Major Servicing used to show the Fuel Filter at each 2nd Major Service with Diesels and some Dealerships did that with Twinchargers. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/464706-fabia-vrs-fuel-filter-replacement-install
  17. The reason seams to be that in 8 years time the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles is to stop and people will still want to be getting about from far and wide and to where they want. There will even be electric hearses. If there is to be a ban on people owning cars then no issue really when they can not buy new cars only used ICE ones Lots of people can not afford to uses Taxis/ Private hire cars or trains or busses to transport themselves or a family.
  18. 'Aim to double Scotland's electric vehicle charging network'. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-60141379 50 million quid of public money spent so far. 30 million more in the next 4 years or so. If the Scottish Labour MSP had brains he would be dangerous.
  19. Those on foot, cycle, push scooter, horses, horse and carriages, donkeys, elephants or other means of transport are not required to be taught to use their means of transport or hold a driving licence. Those that do drive motorised vehicles need to remember that even if the people not in them are in stupid places on roads or at roadsides they need to be taking care and attention because they are the drivers / riders. Having cameras recording how they drive might be simply clever just as long as they always drive and behave according to Traffic Laws and the Highway code.
  20. @SeymanseyHave you not driven an EV yet?
  21. @thomasaspin Misfires logged will be logged right enough. When enough in a cycle & @Kobayashishould know to be checking for those, he has had enough issues in the past. @sepulchrave well i know you bull**** and i have the gear and more than an idea and have read enough fault codes on Twinchargers. I was reading them when @thomasaspin arrived and knew nothing about Mk2 Fabia vRS and needed help with them.
  22. @Wet Kipper no as i am never passing that way with an EV but there occasionally with an ICE with bikes carried.
  23. I know when you are talking guff @sepulchrave To clear codes first there have to be codes.
