Regular service intervals 1.6 TDI 77kw
It is not necessary to change the oil in a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG as fitted to a 1.6 TDI, there are no service schedule, guidelines or recommendations. ? Was the car in since 2017 for Service Campaign '34H5' which is required on some from 2013-2015? This is a software update done free.

2021 Dacia Sandero Stepway
I like to wind up salespeople. I ask them if they know the demonstrators tyre pressures and if they say no i ask them to go check & be sure they are safe. It is their job after all and if they are not happy then tough.

Electric vehicles and charging
It is not the ones going in near Pets at Home according to Plugshare but nearer Dominos. Never heard of Tritium but they are 75kW chargers so i will check them out when on as handy while getting munchies. New 150 kW BP ones at Monkton as well.

@Stickysidedown You didn't happen to check the pressure the tyres were at did you? There is an issue only too often if taking out a demonstrator, hire car or even a new car and that is the tyres are overinflated to the point of being dangerous in some cases because the dealership pre is lax. (With EV demonstrators it is very common as they want the potential customer to think it will go further on less electricity.)

Welcome. This is what Skoda UK show for the fixed servicing regime. There is Pollen Filter each 2 years, then Air Filter whenever, but check both these and change as required or clean. Fuel filter & Oil Filter.

Skoda octavia 2013 stuck in gear 7
Welcome to the forum. Easy once the diagnosis is done and is it the MCU, Clutches or selector. How expensive will depend on what is wrong. So was your DQ200 DSG part of the Service Campaign started in 2017 on some DQ200's from 2013-2015 to do a software update? That was a preventative campaign carried out to stop issues with pressure / heat and leaks and issues like you have now. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425424-2017-another-dq200-7-speed-dsg-service-campaign

The future of cars in the media (TV, Print and Forums)
I now get a smile & rising annoyance as i sit charging free at Tesco and the Black Tesla and the White Renault EV van that use the EV charging bays to park while they go in shopping but do not plug in their vehicles, it is just that the bays are quick to park at.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Skoda & VW Group were simply clever in being in no hurry to deliver in Europe the higher emission vehicles while VW Group were required to meet the Average C02 emissions that they missed in 2020. They were reliant in partner manufacturers producing and registering EV's and electrified vehicles as VW Group never produced enough of their own. 2022 they now need to get vehicles finished or produced and get the money in on them. VW Group have signed up the companies required to have the required 2022 emission figures.

No need for a huge initial price as Manufacturers have had to reduce prices because the UK Government are not giving them a nice hand out in the way of grants. There will be lots of used EV's on the market this year and next and year on year as more new ones get put on the roads. Many lease / rent cars and more will have them on subscription and as it is buying a new ICE vehicle and running one takes money.

Delivery times?
Skoda's new CEO could say. We could have built and delivered more vehicles to paying customers and not just to Skoda / VW group if we had more models with Electrification but as it is we were happy not to build and deliver or register the highest polluting models as VW Group could face fines.

VED needs put on EV's and ICE vehicles by length / weight / width because they might be reducing emissions but not congestion. To me Road mile charging on vehicle weight of private and business use passengers cars makes sense if big cars are going about with just a driver.

Small EV's only models with little range that only carry up to 4 passengers are rather heavy. The Honda-e especially. Then the ones that come from ICE vehicles like the MINI or Corsa / 208 are also heavy and not that efficient. There are ones that were ICE models like the e-Up and Mii electric that are efficient as small ev's. You can get quiet night time traffic light Grand Pix's other than tyre squeal.

@stever750 the we with not enough electricity is England which is just 1 country in the UK. Scotland does now have only 1 nuclear generator and that will close soon but generating electricity and hydrogen is not difficult in Scotland. The places that can just need to do it and not be discouraged by the UK government. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-59837782

England EV Charging points, a proposal. & location & news on new charging hubs in England & Wales.
The 32 local authorities do their own deals. Some of the earliest adopters have the oldest equipment which needs replaced and high maintenance. These are far from the central belt or central Scotland. Now the performance of these chargers is pathetic and Highland council are charging the highest price for the public charger use. Now there are more EV,s on the road the commercial companies can put in charging and charge not much more than the public chargers are costing. The thing is the prices are having to go up now on commercial chargers. Time that the company has clearly on the vehicles if doing only work for SWARCO e-volt and on SWARCO business or actually doing CPS work under that contract. Charge Place Scotland are clear they do not do maintenance but the company that is running Charge Place Scotland do have maintenance contracts with SWARCO.. when you report a fault to CPS that is SWARCO taking the call. Then they let the host / owner know there is a fault. That host let's the maintenance provider know an action is needed. That is often SWARCO e-Volt. The whole thing is a fiasco that Scottish politicians seem blind to. Transport Scotland are selectively blind. EDIT. That was another issue, no phone reception. Many Charge Hubs or chargers in Scotland are where there is crap mobile phone reception. (You might expect the surveyors & architects / contractors / clients would check before building work starts.) You might need to walk about trying to make a call, log in and use an app to start a charge or get SWARCO to start a charge. The chargers have sims in as well. Scotlands Mobile Phone network is rubbish as is digital radio reception. Not that Transport Scotland / Scottish Government seem that bothered as long as 'The majority' of the population are not affected by stuff like this that has been so for years now. A great new technological age where rural areas can go get stuffed as far as the Government care.

There are hydrogen stations that have come and gone. There are more in Scotland that are not Public Filling Stations but Fleet use like in Fife.

It is good if true that Toyota will remanufacture cars in the UK up to 3 times. Also VW group being interested in servicing older VW group models and parts being manufactured or remanufactured / refurbished. The UK government need to assist people and companies on keeping vehicles on the road rather than having them scrapped. Out of date airbags need addressed as there are millions of cars on UK roads with these that might not work.

A Nissan Leaf is quite nippy away from the traffic lights but it is nice that a few lines of code (not coke) and you can have 200 bhp from one.

England EV Charging points, a proposal. & location & news on new charging hubs in England & Wales.
@cheezemonkhaiSorry the Charge Place Scotland posts are here wrongly posted by me. You seem not to be aware of the system with CPS. They own nothing. there are 32 local authorities with Chargers & Charger Hubs and other owners / hosts that own hubs. The Administration runs them, that was for BP who had the contract and they contracted that to SWARCO who were involved since 2011. Then Transport Scotland put running CPS out for a new 'company' to run and SWARCO got that gig. It so happens that SWARCO / e-Volt who manufacture chargers and maintain chargers also have the Maintenance contracts with the 32 Local Authorities & other hosts with e-Volt chargers. They are also the ones responsible for the warranty on e-Volt chargers where there is still a warranty. Millions and millions spent of public money all going pretty much one way and even if Swarco / e-Volt are not going to be the back office for CPS they are the main company responsible for charger maintenance, Transport Scotland and Charge Place Scotland really is a horlicks. IMO a love in with SWARCO needs addresses. https://chargeplacescotland.org/about-us/ https://www.swarco.com/stories/swarco-operate-chargeplace-scotland

Screen wash tablets
I have heard and have no idea if a myth, but the screen wash with water repellent in can have the silicone in it coat the washer bottle level sensors and stop them working. As to water hardness or softness all i know is that the Public Supply where i live gets the water from the same source as Bottled Water is taken from and sold around the world. Tasty water for much cheapness right out the tap. People who travel and might need to top up washer bottles with H20 and concentrate around the UK are unlikely to know anything about what comes out taps in that area other than it should be water.

Totally Confused Over Correct Oil
Just more confusion linking a Post /Thread about 'Best Oil' Not the correct or recommended oil for a TDI where a member then posted about their TSI which left the factory with VW508 00 / 509 00. There really is no need for confusion over the oil for TSI's pre or post GPF's. Main Dealer Technicians or Fitters should know as should the parts desk people, but Service Desk Staff might well be clueless.

Totally Confused Over Correct Oil
VW504 00 /507 00 so 5w 30 FS is the recommended and correct oil for Fixed Services or Variable. It is long life oil. on the 2017 1.0 TSI. (You can use 0w 30 FS III if to VW504 00/ 507 00) VW502 00 is also the correct oil for Fixed Service intervals if you want to use that. 5w 40 FS. ................................... The TSI cars from 2018 that left the factory with VW508 00/ 509 00 can use VW 504 00 / 507 00, as they can use VW502 00 if getting fixed regime oil and filter changes.

Electric vehicles and charging
The manufacturers were taking the Michael out of UK tax payers with the UK Government complacent in allowing them to put ridiculous RRP,s on EV,s being sold in the UK. They will still be making profits at the new prices.

Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
Even the flap on the PodPoint chargers at Tesco was frozen closed this morning. Car was frozen white and again the choice was heated rear screen including heated mirrors or heated steering wheel but not both.

Towing
@Karlgwalsh What does the plate on the car say you can tow weight wise? That is what matters, not manuals or online sites. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/429261-dont-buy-a-201718-150ps-4wd-man-7-seat-if-you-tow
