  1. If so then the Chancellor will not be slow in stopping that if people dare to claim the Grant. Grant Shapps MP might like to make an appearance to tell the public how the government are fully behind the take up of Electric cars. Especially behind business,s with no proven record of anything getting millions to develope tech not relevant to the vehicles on the road now or in production.
  2. No idea. Best you tell the people, cars age, miles done. What service and warranty history has it, has it had Warranty or service work on the system showing on the timing chain. Best look at those spark plugs. Has the Water Pump been replaced? All maybe OT, but the more info you give the less people need to ask to maybe help you. Someone less Mutt & Jeff than me will be along and maybe tell you exactly what the noise is.
  3. I suppose the title Auto corrected and is 'Engine Knocking'. Link not available to me. Knocking is not normal. So there is a TPI that cover the CTHE 1.4 TSI Twincharger for the Timing chain. Do you have good spark plugs in, & running it on Super Unleaded E5 97 or 99 ron & not E10 95 Unleaded? This is a ratttle so different, but gives an idea where Skoda Main Dealers might be no help. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/457262-2013-fabia-mk-ii-vrs-rattle-to-left-of-engine Fuel http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/452407-best-fuel-for-mk2-fabia-vrs
  4. @domhnallCould anyone just plug into the 3 pin and charge their phone, e-bike etc while the car is sitting charging? Or is it inhibited in some way? From my poor picture it looks lie the 3 pin should have some 'Little finger house socket protector' stuck in it to keep the weather out if charging in torrential rain, blizzards sandstorms etc.
  5. @Sanqhar How much does your dealer charge for your services & is the Unit Price of the battery shown on the invoice?
  6. 1 former Registered Keeper. That could have been VW Finance, Motability, Hertz, Eurocar or anyone. Since then it could have been 'in trade' at BCA (British Car Auctions', back into the Motor Trade, so in various peoples hands none of who show as 'Keepers'.
  7. ? Who told you to use E10, the Government? All that changed was 95 Ron Un-leaded could have 10% Bio in it. So E10. Super Unleaded 97 or 99 ron in the UK stayed at able to use up to 5% Bio.
  8. Is your Mechanic a VW Group trained one? ? When petrol changed to E10 why did you use that & stop using Tesco Momentum 99 E5 ?
  9. You do not need to floor it. Get the car sorted and don't mess about this way.
  10. COP26 has been and gone so we start to that much was just talk before it. The largest Builders & Property Companies that are Government sponsors will have put their foot down. https://inews.co.uk/news/environment/government-back-tracks-on-plans-for-electric-chargers-in-all-commercial-buildings-1371568
  11. I knew of getting surveys asking about access to public charges for disabled drivers. Nearly all the ones I see that are part of the CPS network that have been in a few years and even ones built in the past couple of years are not suitable for wheel chair users to activate. PodPoint, InstaVolt, BP Pulse etc are pretty good.
  12. I say it in the context of EV,s or hybrids sitting in tight parking spaces with the flaps open. So a bit different from an ICE vehicle, it is getting between cars when plugged in to stop the charger and unplug. That is after managing to get past to get out to start with. You might park and there is no issue and get back and there is You can not always get behind a car because of the cables maybe a foot off the ground. Long vehicles reversed right back to the charger. I am often in the car charging and have to get the attention of someone pulling in tight to m you car and ask them to leave room for me to get out. Or let me come off the charger and look let them in. Front charge points do lessen the issue. As do the flap at the rearmost bit of the rear quarter panel. Rear light area. They are mostly of wide EV,s though.
  13. Alerts are pinging on my phone about the change to home charger grants in the new year. I will see what they have done later when I can read them. Maybe someone could put up a link to a Government site or the details.
  14. A good increase in range.
  15. Construction & Use and Type Approval is the reason a Parking Brake / emergency brake is required. A physical one that can be applied and not by use of the foot brake. The requirement is 'One efficient braking system with 2 means of operation.' 'Autohold' is functioning on holding the vehicle with the front and rear brakes. the Parking / e-brake is only applied on the rear brakes. https://volkswagen.co.uk/en/technology/driver-assist/braking.html
  16. A Model 3 always looks quite small to me when i see one moving. A Model S might even be mistaken for a Model 3. There are those that design / build charging hubs with parking spaces not big enough for small EV's to park and the drivers to be able to get their doors open. Then big Charging Port Flaps with a charger in can be awkward to get past especially if the car next has one directly opposite. Passenger side on one car and driver side on the other.
  17. https://www.cityam.com/learning-how-to-change-gears-a-thing-of-the-past-as-electric-vehicles-take-over-says-aa-president/ More people are not bothering to learn to drive manual cars or get a licence other than for an Automatic. There must be more Instructors then with EV's or ones teaching using Autos'. I know there are Driving Instructors on here that teach using automatics.
  18. Briskoda members have discussed it on the Yeti Owners Club Forum. there are more than just this thread, http://yetiownersclub.co.uk/threads/facelift-conversion.5022/
  19. @BoxerBoyWere does that tell the OP anything that they asked as in ''When would you manually activate the parking brake?'
  20. Guest_ replied to Nimit's topic in Skoda Yeti
When stopped / stationary in the dark with the wheel swung out there is no difference from being stopped and having one rear 'Parking Light' . So as long as the offside light can be seen what is the difference?
  21. ^^^ Exactly. The one owned by the VW Group that the Dealer Principal or sales executive is driving as their daily. Let them drive the Fabia manual.
  22. The person that fitted the plates did not dismantle anything to put nuts on the rear. Unscrew what is there and see what they are screwed into.
  23. @kodiaqsportlineSounds like you sum up your attitude to others road users in the last sentence. Do you happen to drive all about in the UK? I like when sitting waiting for a good while behind someone that thinks they are fine with the brake lights on or the rear Fogs for ages and there are no others about to light up the rear of their car and mirror. That is just how i roll. That is another use for extra bright lights or spots on the roof is for if for 'Offroad use only'. *** I have flashed at a Police Vehicle infront on Gridlock traffic on the Edinburgh by-pass and the officer did come out to see why.*** http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/335661-xds-question/page/2 These drivers might be people just sitting in a car, not a SUV, not a 4x4 or Van or HGV, lower vehicles.. Ones sitting there for a while and that remember what the Highway Code says and do not sit for extended times with rear brake light illuminated with a vehicle behind. Police Drivers in Volvo XC90 are very guilty of sitting stationary with rear brake lights on. That is how Autohold is on them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497760-code-out-brake-lights-on-autohold http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/433302-auto-hold-brake-lights
  24. I might if sitting in the warm weather /temperatures but not in freezing temps with heater & lights on. Snow and freezing fog tends to be in colder weather.
  25. Getting Load to 12v battery correct will be a big leap forward. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/499985-dead-12v-battery
