  1. Motability are giving money back to Customers next year. A £60 rebate this time if they had joined the scheme before 18th July 2021. This is because of lower insurance claims & less wear and tear of their vehicles on the scheme during the Covid 19 pandemic. https://news.motability.co.uk/scheme-news/third-covid-19-related-rebate-to-customers/
  2. @skomazIt certainly should,. As cleaning and polishing the paint, and any other prep. But then as you will see year after year on this very forum it might not. So if you need to pour warm water on the area or have to resort to peeing on the area to get fueled up remember to dry that off before it freezes up again.
  3. The motoring journalist that are tickled pink by Skoda Simply Clever features seem to never mention that issue. As for decades they have not asked why a Central European car manufacturers continue generation after generation designing and manufacturing in faults like Fuel Filler flaps prone to freezing even if the owner preps pre winter. Does the R&D factory test drivers never have this issue during winter testing. With EV,s it is a real hassle as well, just like frozen washer bottles nozzles unless heating under the bonnet / frunk. PS the Enyaq has the scrapper on the tailgate.
  4. @kodiaqsportline"Bikering"? It is a forum, posts are posted, others are posted, replies to posts are posted. It is good if the OP does reply to what they are asked. You are another of those that seem to bother about threads continuing until the OP comes back or the discussions on a forum. We could just sit like many forums and maybe there are posts and maybe not. Like in the Roomster section. Your comments are very valid. As to how many posts i might make, that is actually the case. Well spotted. My Sidelight was checked, sadly it was out by the time the car was tested. It was replaced the year before as it failed then as well. I just never dealt well enough with the dodgy holder. No excuse. Brake fault as from the new parts the year before and only 600 miles between MOT's. I posted the extract from the Gov UK, getting your car mot'd site. https://www.gov.uk/getting-an-mot/after-the-test *I posted my opinion, a fail is a fail.* You posted about grey areas. About knowing the reason and if the Missing cap, well if that was a 'dangerous' there is a the reason that you are not supposed to drive one. The Government website seems to say only a 'Dangerous' fail means you can not drive it'. It does not actually say that a 'Major' means you can drive it away. THE TEST STATION STAFF MIGHT WELL TELL YOU WE ADVISE YOU NOT TO DRIVE THAT AWAY. They do not stop you or call the police. https://www.kwik-fit.com/mot/information/can-you-drive-a-car-with-no-mot ................... No excuse really.from me on how i put vehicles in for MOT's, but if you leave vehicles lying about doing nothing but occasionally for towing trailers with cars with no MOT's away they very quickly deteriorate. My habit is get it tested if it has been sitting or getting used off road, and then do the work needed.
  5. Worth having a look inside the rear hatch. Just incase it was one of the ones that had a faulty rear wiper motor and there is something left in there loose. The rear seats fold or one folds and you sit in the other rear seat. Try the passenger side one, then try the other side. People have been getting in the back to hear where the rattle comes from in the rear since the Mk2's came out.
  6. Fails to meet the minimum standards of roadworthiness that got it a Failure though. A Minor or advisory is not a Major. It is clear right enough. You can drive away if the MOT is still valid and no Dangerous Faults failed it. Major defects are fine to drive away with and get fixed. 'You might not be able to drive until you fix the problems'. So that is if 'Dangerous'. 'If you can take your vehicle away it must still meet the minimum standards of road worthiness at all times.'
  7. @Smudger2 Have you tried different tyres pressures to see if any difference? How many miles has the car done? Has it been a Hire car / Taxi or had a towbar so maybe towed a caravan.
  8. My thoughts are too many DQ200 DSG's are hurt by people messing about not knowing what they are doing. Instead of spending money having unnecessary oil changes of a DQ200 just spend the money on an extended warranty that will cover a DSG serviced to the manufacturers recommendations / guidelines from after the manufacturers warranty expires to maybe 100,000 miles is covered and after that consider changing the oil.
  9. There is no Service Schedule or guidelines for Oil changes so no need to have that done. Ask the plonker at the Dealership where they see a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch needing a 40,000 mile oil change. Tell them to go ask an actual Master Tech. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473164-7-speed-dsg-oil-change-or-not There are 2 oils in there in the box and in the MCU that do not need changing. The Term Sealed for life is one used which is not so. There is a drain plug and a filler hole. It is not sealed for like because in 2012 there was a World Wide Recall and a Service Campaign in Europe to change oil from Synthetic to mineral and some people speak of changing the oil and do it. This is confusing too many including Full Time Service Desk Staff at dealerships that need training.
  10. I got peed with Skoda Dealers when there was an agreement to have new rims provided under warranty and they wanted the car in and not just the wheels for them or their handy tyre fitters to change the tyres. Then they came with tyres fitted and already the lacquer marked and the alloys ready to go just the same way again. I took a pair off as soon as i got home, prepped them to be stored and without any use other than the 15 miles from the dealer they were both ruined by white worm. There were actually some of the Dark Chrome Gigaro that stood up well to use on a car which really is the point of wheels. Generally they were crap though. They were fitted with Low Profile tyres 205/40 R 17 is properly low profile. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/464539-problems-with-vega-alloys
  11. Love this Audi.
  12. Range shown is not what you might actually get. My car is using 2.5 kWh in 24 hours to do 6-8 times 0.7 miles a day. I have a 50kWh Corsa-e that actually is 45 kWh usable. The percentage is correct this morning and the miles range might be if i use the car as i have for the past 3 days, but if i set off now and get 2.7 miles per kWh then the range is actually going to be greater than this shows, if i get 3.1 miles a kWh even greater. If 3.5-4 kWh then like showing in the 2nd bottom pic. I could be at 99% battery and only 89 miles range showing and after 30 miles driving to Perth on a 60 mph max road the range would be at 99 -118 miles or more.
  13. I use a Club card plus and always have done. Used to pay into it every month and bought all fuel on it before that scheme stopped and new one started. Used a Asda credit card when that gave 2 pence a litre off, then Santander 123 card when that was good. I always Double up or treble the Tesco points for rewards. That paid Family RAC cover for a few years. Now at 22,000 miles in the Corsa with only 2 X CPS cards @ £20 and 3 times on InstaVolt chargers. That was under £15. I have used a couple of hundred quid on an Audi Card with £800 credit to use super quick chargers but that was on other people's cars. Much cheapness is the name of the game. For 45 miles a week on little short journeys £3.50 for electric home charging is about half the cost of an ickle petrol car needing 5 litres of supermarket finest.
  14. Sitting charging for free. I save lots buying reduced price stuff in the supermarket. Also if in before the crazy mobs doing trolley fills. Also the charger busy times now. Lots of energy used each day / night even if doing 6 times just under 1 mile a day. 2 .5 kWh. If paying a home tariff of 20 pence that would be 50 pence a day. OK but this is real world and not what journalist or YouTube reviewers or manufacturers show.
  15. From google images.
  16. Little different from those with the Chromed Bar with their IAM & RAC badge on the front of new cars.
  17. Mot failure is a failure. Vehicle un-roadworthy. Many drive them away to have work carried out. The UK is so lax on Legislation / law and grey areas and non enforcement, and confusing Government websites. Get repaired there or trailer it away. Not many do though. Test stations do not stop Dangerous or Major / defects (Fails) being drive away. Test up to one month early and pass and you have a 13 month MOT or what ever. Mines failed 17th November, MOT was not due till 24th.
  18. This was another members. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/474351-all-terrain-on-a-yeti
  19. As it is too many vehicles have H2o in the brake and clutch fluid. Easily tested to see. Too many are on forums saying in 15 years theirs has never been changed and no isses. So cap needed, the fluid tested, maybe a complete Brake fluid change. Brakes tested. Maybe a Trained & Qualified Motor Engineer / Mechanic wants to check components, inspect the ABS pump / Calipers etc. Not some Fitter at Halfords or the likes. If it needs discs the totally a different matter. I would be getting VOSA to have the car inspected, or RAC if a member.
  20. The Soft Bull Bar / Winch Bumper thing kind of went out the window but the Legislation / Law is there. Dates of manufacturer matter to the seller / fitter and vehicles. God help someone with undeclared mods like Winch Bumpers / winches or other additions killing, maiming or causing life changing injuries. (My orange 110 wrote off a guys car that pulled out in front of me. That is where the bumper is pushed in a bit with the Skull & Crossbones sticker is. & The guy with the very very dodgy lifted Land Rover that killed 4 of his children went to jail. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/court-hears-how-four-children-364708
  21. Please do. Next time best check when collecting the car after a service, dip cold before starting the car, and check once home hot, then again when cold in the morning. ? Did they use VW508 00 so 0w 20 FS IV at the service or VW504 00, 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III? Does it say on the invoice?
  22. People do add all sorts of tat from Amazon / Ebay etc and its only £15 or so. The UK Government has legislation but it is ignored. Nobody bothers until a Loss Adjuster maybe. Saying that i have had Winch Bumpers and winches on vehicle, and no airbags, ABS, ESP, automatic fuel cut out safety etc. https://www.police.community/topic/303356-is-this-spot-light-mount-road-legal/
  23. I would call it condensation not steam. Have you checked the engine oil level Cold when you got the car, then when home and at operating temp, which is how you need tom at operating temp, so oil at an indicated 90*oC or so, and regularly even if the ICE does not run much other than on longer trips?
  24. Diesel floats on water. If the flap was open in the car wash was it not going to be pushed closed by the roller brushes or ripped off. I do not expect water to have got in. But then again i could be wrong. There is a 50/50 chance.
  25. Still no idea then about when they might be arriving in the UK. Orders opening or colours available. Now week 1 & 2 of 2022 looks as though production will not be going on.
