  1. You do not pay a main dealership then. You DIY or get an independent but not just leave them. Often you know if an Air Filter needs replacing because the car uses more fuel. The same can be true when spark plugs are due replacing. Or sometimes with Warning light coming up for misfires or the exhaust emissions system.
  2. Do you own the car or is it on lease? Being handed back. The Factory oil was VW508 00, which is 0w 20 FS IV. You could go to VW504 00 which will be 5w 30 FS III or maybe 0w 30 FS III. That is not the Skoda / VW Recommended oil for a 2019 1.0 TSI with GPF. You need to check what Henrys or whoever are wanting to charge. Also ask if they are using VW508 00 or VW504 00 I Recommend that you 'Do not use Arnold Clark or Park's.' Which reliable Glasgow in or near Glasgow would you use? It does require the Oil & Filter & Inspection Service. Also the Pollen Filter but i would not pay a main dealer £45 for the pollen filter if you can change that and tell them. Be sure if at a Main Dealership they leave the Next Service as being on Variable / Flexible if you want that so 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles. & not leave an 'Inspection showing' in 12 months. The thing is. A Main Dealer Service now will have and Software or Updates carried out. A Body Inspection should be getting done that has the Paint & Corrosion Warranty Valid. The Service will be carried out and on the Skoda System. ............................. Will you want to have a service done in a year will you not before the Warranty Expires and have a 13 month MOT done a month before the Warranty expires and any warranty work done if there is any. I would.
  3. https://thedriven.io/2021.08/02/volkswagen-forges-new-jv-to-avoid-repeat-of-id-3-software-problems https://www.teslarati.com/volkswagen-software-issues-id-3 $9Billion is Just a drop in the ocean & a 2019 figure on what THEY ARE TO SPEND, which is nothing compared to what VW group paid in fines for the software that they had developed and that they bought in previously to have the Defeat Devices they wanted. Contractors do leave VW Group because they are always trying to screw down the costs of everything. (VW dumped chip suppiiers quicker than others and they were already demanding cheaper than other manufacturers and the chip suppliers started supplying others quicker when the demand picked up. Vorsprung Durch Technik. VW Needs to learn to stop taking the pith with New Technology as it advances.) VW Group will actually blame the software developers and providers for illegal ECU's / Software where it was them that bought it in and used it having been made aware that it was illegal. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/01/business/bosch-vw-diesel-settlement.html https://www.dw.com/en//bosch-pays-90-million-euro-fine-over-diesel-scandal/a-48843405 VW group get left in the lurch often with component shortages even like with interiors and materials as they say they punt suppliers but the truth is suppliers abandon VW Group. VW Group do drop suppliers after they have had them increase staff and production and want them to be the supplier for VW and not others, then try screwing down the costs and profits of the suppliers while VW Group can increase their profits. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-volkswagen-production-idUSKCN10S2BR Software development is expensive you have to poach the best people from other companies, and the best developers have been at it a long time and can have errors and faults and losses, VW Group have a long way to go until they get to be up there with the people that can do things right. Lots of the best Engineers & Developers, designers etc will not work for VW Group because like with the Deafeat Devices they will blame Minions and the top people the Engineers Engineers that know everything know nothing and do not go to jail and Engineer or 2 do, selectively deaf dumb and blind in the Board Rooms. The issue is that any software errors and coc-kups can be a risk, but VW Groups are in Vehicles. Vehicles driving on roads with humans in them and around them. From the first link. Hits the nail on the head!
  4. Tumbleweed will eventually blow through a thread and some will be happy. @kodiaqsportline if you do not like posts maybe do not read those ones, scan them and move on and there is an ignore button.
  5. They take the £2.50 rather easily and divulge the keepers information without asking their permission.
  6. The VW Group have to spend 9 billion Euro, Dollar or what ever to bring Software and Tech in-house to have things as bad as they are.
  7. Remember Sweet Chilli Haggis or Blaggis from Grazianos.
  8. The ship was to the left of the muffin.
  9. Yesterday Sunny South Ayrshire.
  10. Here. https://www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla
  11. Tech does not have to get worse, it might get more complex and next year stuff is becoming mandatory on new vehicles. VW Group took doing Software / Tech in house and coc-ked it up in lots of cases and had to get lower emission vehicles out and then any vehicles out even with software not fit for purpose in lots of cases. https://www.businessinsider.com/volkswagen-investing-in-house-software-2019-9?r=US&IR=T https://www.volkswagenag.com/en/news/2019/06/volkswagen-with-new-software-unit.html
  12. Indeed there is. Twinchargers in the UK have thrived on higher octane petrol with as much as 5% ethanol for over a decade now.
  13. @GaSelle Thanks. To be clear, have Skoda CZ already announced or issued a TPI to inform Dealerships and Owners that there is an upcoming Service Campaign / Recall Action on Enyaq? Is it a 'Recall' as in all Registered Keepers will be contacted to return their vehicle to a Dealership for the action or is it a Recall Action / Skoda Secret Service Campaign where unless the vehicle is at a dealership the Registered Keeper / Owner might not be contacted? http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions
  14. There are areas of the UK where the ESSO Synergy + 99 will not have Ethanol. That might be the areas where Greenergy are not the supplier to those filling stations. So Central England, some of Southern England and parts of Wales is not such a large area regardless of how many vehicles or Esso Filling stations.
  15. Skoda are not some Johnny-come-lately, they have been building cars for over a century, They are 'Simply Clever'. Over the past decade they have managed to improve on their Black Hole Ordering System to the point that nobody has an idea how they manage to manage things so badly. Even in times of plenty they can make the whole getting a new vehicle a lottery and guessing game. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/197204-order-times-build-times-delays-the-skoda-black-hole-ordering-system 'Treat them mean keep them keen'.
  16. If you are desperate to spend money maybe look at Liqui Moly Oil Additive. The correct oil for the weather / environment the vehicle is used in has all the additives needed. It is just a VW TDI and not a race or performance engine needing anything special. Like the fuel sold at filling stations it is the correct ones for that world region. VW Group advise not to use additives, but they do sell VW Branded Additives, but that is how they roll.
  17. Fuel also cut off so when getting an accident damaged car you may need to cleat that and have the engine getting fuel again. (Vehicles not starting after a collision.) Modern VW Group & other manufacturers cars will brake / stop the car when shunted. VW Multi Collision Braking.
  18. OT from the DPF thread. But a useful attachment for anyone interested in the E5 97 & 99 ron Super unleaded being sold in the UK. (This was posted by another member in the Fabia mk3 section.) petrol.pdf
  19. @nta16 Still the same, TESCO PLC have a shareholding in Greenergy and Greenergy have a partnership with Royal Dutch Shell for Importing and storing fuels. Greenergy are the supplier and distributor in parts of the UK for ESSO as well as other retailers / independents. ? Did you not read the OP saying he is running Shell Super Unleaded now? (Shell premium fuel in the OP) 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1) (1).pdf 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf
  20. Surely people were flogging Diesels or Petrols because there was a fuel shortage in some areas and not because in 9 years time they might not be able to buy a new one. Stopping to recharge and the rising cost to use public chargers and not being able to get the good deals on off peak charging certainly is an issue. As is older vehicles for those that need to drive in Low Emission Zones. It is amazing how all the stories are that Asking Prices are high for used cars but people are able to find that when buying used cars there are low priced. But then there is no shortage of older cars sitting about and lots of stupidly priced cars will find buyers.
  21. @lol-lol Here are the test results that Tesco had done which were really more about emissions. It would be good to see similar test results done with 95 ron unleaded E10 and 97 or 99 ron Super Unleaded E5. Since this thread from 2015 Esso Super Unleaded is now 99 ron minimum. 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1) (1).pdf 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf 2021 & E5 97 & 99 in the UK. petrol.pdf
  22. If the Lambda sensor is gubbed luckily it is not expensive. Was the wiring checked at the sensor or just the Codes Read? If the plugs need changed then do it if no record of being done. Check the gap of the ones removed.
  23. OT but Re Super Unleaded Petrol. I posted back in 2015 the link with the Spec of Tesco Momentum 99 which gave the formulation for Summer & Winter. Sadly that link in my post from April 2015 was changed the next year. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/351141-fabia-vrs-petrol-grade-for-business-mileage/page/2 For an insider of the Fuel Industry there is one in the Yeti Section that has given lots of good info over the years on UK Fuels and additives. 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1).pdf 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf
  24. I would never run Shell Super Unleaded in Mk2 Fabia vRS. I ran Tesco Momentum 99 without issue. I got bad Sainsburry's 97 ron once and had issues until drained and new Super Unleaded in but that was on a remapped car. There were plenty that bought used cars that ran OK and then they used super unleaded and the engine / head must have got a bit of a clean out with the Detergents / Ethanol and then Exhaust Management lights on or the EPC or even both and into Limp Mode. It was not usually the Lambda sensor giving up the ghost. Sometimes it showed up the one dodgy spark plug that Twinchargers commonly have and the Super Unleaded and a new driver giving the car a good thrash had the car misfiring. Lucky people did not have the dodgy tip off the spark plug wrecking the engine and got new spark plugs in and all was well.
  25. I think the 99 min ron Shell V-Power+ is not an issue and the lambda sensor is. (I do not use that i stick with Tesco Momentum 99, not because cheaper but because Tesco at least showed what their detergents were but Shell & Greenergy import the base fuels as partners. ? Was the fault code reset and the light out for now? Your car might need the spark plugs changed as well if not already done,
