EV real world range and cost to charge
Tesla & Norway. http://bbc.co.uk/news/technology-57232252 May 2021. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/tesla-convictions-in-norway-for-capping-model-s-voltage-confirmed-175601.html I do not think he was in Sport when he floored it but in the comments he said he was. No way do 2 6 footers fit in the rear with 2 6 footers in the front. B makes a lot of difference in slowing but you might not feel if left in B but use B just like dropping a gear in an Auto and it is almost one pedal driving other than to a full stop. I never use the brakes except to come to a total stop. Eco does not help increase range other than by killing the heating, you have to work the 80 ps harder, and Normal is no more economic than sport at the same speeds, just feels dead as does steering. The Cruise Control is not as good for range as driving as CC does not have the regen happening. 70% showing 70 miles or near can be real world. 100% might only get you 100 miles or it could be 150 or 180. it is all so variable, heat, weight, speed, roads and iffy displays. I see the trip on the car in Ireland had never been reset since after done when the car had done 2 km when new.

EV real world range and cost to charge
There are 2 software updates that Arnold Clark / Vauxhall call Recalls. The car is not going in until i hear that they actually work as not for others. A/C messed up connectivity between car and phone last time they had it. The Dealership 0.7 miles away can not service the car as it is a Motability Car and they are no longer a Vauxhall Dealer only KIA and a Motability Dealer and used Vauxhall Service Centre. Car was on the 7kW charger twice on Thursday. Range never changed.

EV real world range and cost to charge
No, the range was at 68 miles as a max all week last week when just charging 8-15 kWh every day and only doing 6 miles a day. 6 or 10 x 0.7 mile trips a day and the car showing 1.4 - 1.7 miles / kWh for a week. Never changed range just percentage showing when charging. So still showed 68 miles before setting off even though the battery had only been taken to showing 100% the night before.

Lada Niva
Real world fuel economy and emissions with the Lada are no worse than Suzuki really had with the Jimny 1999-2016. (Autos were really not fuel efficient. Then Suzuki put out the new 1.5 Suzuki Jimny that really is a joke emissions wise and the Auto version really is a scandal as far a Co2 g/km for a vehicle as small as it is. A proper 4x4 for hard use / offroad work that might be used to do less annual miles / running time but has poorer emission figures is a necessity for many. The amount of big over fat/ heavy fully loaded with options New Defenders going about on roads that will never be offroad or tow now is a bit of a joke.

Tyre wear and wheel spin
Strange that drivers of 2 pedal cars be them TQ Autos, CVT's, Automated Manuals / DSG's, servo clutch manuals can not think on about what they were driving in as 3 speeds with O/D or 4 Speeds or 4 with O/D, rgen 5, 6, 7, or 8 speeds. Ones with setting like Winter / Snow , power settings. I think in 45 years of only driving non manuals have had pretty much owned or driven each type with FWD, RWD, part time RWD with AWD selectable, FWD with AWD selectable and 4x4s with centre diffs or no centre diffs. Petrols, Diesels & LPGs and Hybrids and EV's. All have been a joy really and some fantastic and some so so. All of them as far as i remember could spin the tyres on ice or snow or on wet /greasy roads or gravel even if only having less than 60 bhp.

EV real world range and cost to charge
After 5 miles the dash shows 2.5 miles per kWh and the centre screen is showing 2.7 miles, by 20 miles at no more than 60 mph it is at 3.1 on the dash and 3.2 on the screen. This is at freezing or below. I started off at 98% showing 68 miles range and 30 miles later that went to 99 miles range. After 90 miles driven i had 33 miles range available. Motorway solo or with a passenger is 2.7 miles. Only the average speed camera 60 mph area on the west cost (A77) with ambient temp at around 4-6 *oC had me getting 3.5-3.7 Miles per kWh. Trip home started off showing 78 miles range & 75% and 45 miles later it was showing 50 miles range. Climb into Perth, regen all the way down through Perth increased the range. That was back on 30 miles of the same route as in the morning but the ambient temp was minus 4 and the car was in Sport but driving below the NSL as not salting or gritting had been done. Centre Screen is correct on the energy in comparison to the cars dash which eventually might catch up or continues to show .2 or .5 miles / kWh less. That is the reading the Range is based on and hence pretty much wrong. I go by the centre screens Energy use. Edit. Dash showing that it was 2.8 miles / kWh when i parked up after the 45 miles. The centre screen was at 3.1 but has now cleared. 3*oC outside now and 98% charged and showing 118 miles range. PS Going to take the Roof Bars and bike carrier off tomorrow and see how things are on the same roads once back at the same temps as it is going to be milder this week so no direct comparison can be made. A bike on the roof of my car in low ambient temps would likely half the range...

EV real world range and cost to charge
Ps. Joy. 13 miles further on in Auchterarder. 2 new Rapids next to the old one and a couple of 7kW,s and working. So on with a tap of the card and charging quickly. Minus 2 degrees outside but now heating up full and I will charge untill it slows right down so maybe 30 minutes then home an hour after that. Heating will be on and seat and wheel and car will get plugged in at home overnight as it is going to be a cold one and heading north tomorrow. All that is needed really is chargers working in well lit places near shops if poss. Toilets would be great. Also not cars left on limited chargers overnight. Larry. Happy as.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Real world. Started at 6.30 am this morning with full charge. Luckily got to Edinburgh airport and got on the only rapid working and did a full charge. Nobody else wanted on. Got to Stranraer and got on a charger and got a full charge. Now at Dunblane. Stirling was before this and one rapid broken and 2 occupied so I never waited. Came to Dunblane. 2 rapids. A Tesla has been on one for 2 hours and an Audi on the other for 70 minutes. No drivers. So I am on a 7kW as I only had 17 miles range. I need to get over 30 before I head to Perth park and ride to hopefully get on a rapid. I would go the the Hilton in Dunblane and pay but there are roadworks and I did not want to chance moving losing this slow charger and BP not working. If any issue at Perth park and ride I will go pay at BP or Ionity to get enough charge to get home. The greed of those that overstay on chargers that are free and limited is the issue. Staying on and being with the car is a different thing as you can unplug and let others charge if they arrive needing to. Edinburgh Airport Park & Ride Chargers. 7 x 50 Kw chargers and 30 7 Kw.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
Edinburgh airport park and ride now has 6 X 50Kw chargers BP Pulse chargers fired up next to the still free single 50 kW charger. There is also the row of 7kw CPS chargers which are free. EDIT, while in charged their was an interuption to charging as a CPS update was done. Card or App now needed to start the old charger. Edinburgh Airport Park & Ride chargers. 30 x 7Kw chargers. Bottom pic new chargers at Auchterarder.

Tyre wear and wheel spin
@FlyingGeckojust how many of the small capacity engines with an automatic / semi automatic box had 7 gears with the 1st gear and 2nd gear being just right for the turbo spinning up. Did you have any 150 ps / 250 Nm or under cars with 7 gears other than the VW Group ones?

Tyre wear and wheel spin
It is due to the DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG's mapping / softwear / gearing & the driver obviously, but then a light touch get away is required. (You can put the TC off and get as shift on and less palaver of nipped brakes, power cut etc but the wheels will spin...) a 1.0, 1.2,1.4,1.5,1.8 TSI and DQ200 or a 1.2, 1.4 or 1.6 TDI and a DQ200 are heavy enough at the front of a vehicle. They can spin wheels on vehicles from 70 ps to 192 ps. Crappy tyres are an issue as well with a DQ200, or just low traction surfaces. VW said the DQ200 was heavier than the Manual. The 2015 VW Polo GTI 1.8 TSI 192 ps had 320 Nm with the manual and 250 Nm with the DQ200 DSG. Surprisingly the supposedly heavier DSG car with less Nm was as quick off the line as the supposedly lighter from end (lighter kerb weight) manual car. a 2.0 TSI or TDI with a wet Clutch 6 or 7 speed DSG is hardly light at the front.

Dead 12V Battery?
They are new as well with every other Dealership & Owner to a Enyaq facing the first winter other than a few early delivered cars nearly a year ago. So now they have heard of one and they should log that and with Skoda CZ. Then they can never say 'Never heard of that'. If just the one car then no reason to say 'They all do that'. An EV or a Hybrid should be able to be parked in the cold for a day or 3 or even a week and be expected to be able to get into, start and drive. If an interior light or something is left on to drain the car battery then that is another mater. If the car has used the energy somehow then that is a different matter.
-
Dead 12V Battery?
It certainly could be an issue / problem which seems to be a reason for concern. Let Skoda know via a Dealership. Reported onlone as happened with some VW ID.3's is happening with Skoda Octavia or Superb iV's.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Octopus where offering me £75 to come back with them at that time. It would have cost me £50 to leave Eon and I decided to stick. An error probably as it turns out but I am still not home charging so that is not a loss. If I had been with octopus in the past 11 months I would have been much more than £25 worse off. Looking at chargers under construction on routes off the motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow and there are a few. Also new ones have appeared on Plug share that I never knew about. They do not show on Zap/map.

Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
I have minus 20 *c windscreen wash in and it was minus 4 or lower earlier on. Driven 30 miles and outside temp between 0 and 1*c but still no windscreen wash available. Without a heated coolant container / pipes and nozzles this is just how it can be with the coolant bottle in an unheated bonnet area with an EV. I knew this from last winter which is why I have good coolant in. Sitting charging now with heater on and dead cozy and now getting a squirt....

Superb 4x4 diff leak
Back when there were Mk2's it was 4 years / 40,000 miles VW /Skoda. VW went 30,000 / 3 years and Skoda often had no idea. Then it became 3 years / 30,000 miles and Skoda Main Dealers often having no idea about filters / screens. Still they do not in lots of cases. £85 spent at a Main Dealers can be just half a job done sadly. An oil change is not enough.

Sawtoothing type noise
Sadly KwikFit often 'all the gear and supposed training and no idea'. Then as for the Area Managers and the complaints procedure is a total joke. Free Checks and paid adjustment and then going to a proper trained person who knows the scores on the doors is pretty common.

vRS Octavia iV - Range, Motorway Driving
Thanks, i missed reading correctly the 5 pence and full cost 65 pence bit. I am tight. When not away and using from Charge Place Scotland charging i charge my EV free at Tesco on the 7kw. That is 7 kWh in 1 hour, so 14 in 2 hours. Getting 3 miles per kWh that is 42 miles from a free charge. At home on my 3 pin that would be a rather pathetic 10 hours to get 30 kWh so 90 miles worth and my current tariff is 18 pence a kWh. £5.90

EV real world range and cost to charge
My gas heating can go off again come spring time for a few months. By the daily charge on electric and gas will go in January to around 27 pence a day Electric and 26 gas from the current 7 pence for each. The gas rises from the 3 pence a kWh to over 4 pence. 2022/2023 winters energy costs are going to be the real shocker.

EV real world range and cost to charge
I am 18 pence until the middle of January and then the 20 pence until the next time the Cap rises. I can not find any better tariff than sticking with Eon now and taking what ever comes.
