About Skoda Fabia 2021 MK4 rear reading lamp
@xiatian There were only 'photo shopped' Mk4 Fabia or Factory Models built in 2020 as the car had not been revealed & is not on sale. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/480446-skoda-fabia-mkiv-2021 Maybe you need to find if the light used on the Mk4 is used on other VW Group vehicles. ? Or do you actually have a 2020 MK4 Fabia?

Electric vehicles and charging
You need to do lots of maths. Looks like great weather and ideal roads.

They are not, but when they are people might know. If built this year it will be a MY22 car. @xiatian Do you have a Mk3 Fabia rather than a Mk4, or do you want the light for some other car?

Dead 12v battery Octavia 4 MHEV
Seems that with Plug in Hybrids & Mild Hybrids, even Full EV's and new cars / models that Skoda / VW Group have to try harder. Anything can go wrong but as long as manufacturers take snagging faults seriously all can be sorted. Makes you wonder about a yeat or 2 on though. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496179-octavia-iv-12-volt-battery-charging http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495746-octavia-iv-estate-flat-12v-battery http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493804-12-volt-battery-charging

New member, a Fabia 1.2 110 and some questions
The way i have done things for decades now is carry a pair of matching spares & a trolley jack in Winter and longer trips, especially at festive holiday time in Scotland. So if the Winters or now all Seasons are fitted because the weather is crap the Winters can go on the front. I certainly do not put them on the rear of a FWD if the roads go bad, but the rears are good anyway. If i have a puncture the pair of wheels / tyres go on and i carry on as planned at the normal speed for the conditions. A pair was always carried when i dove Fabia because Wider fronts were fitted for going to the 1.4 Miles, or going to play.

EV Insurance cost, servicing, how to spot a dud etc.
I assumed the Stirling Hub has CCTV. Shame it has more than 70 chargers available but only places for 5 vehicles to be Rapid Charging and 1 is faulty.

This charger is at the Council Headquarters but they have their own chargers but use the public ones as well. Staff with their own cars and not the Council Leased ones charge here, they see each time there are faulty ones or issues charging. Before the new one opened Council Employees would block the only Rapid Charger at Weekends, Holiday periods. I reported the faults nearly every other day over the 3 months period. I emailed the Council. In the end i copied in every councillor to an Email to the Council Convenor. They contacted CPS and SWARCO and within 24 hours a new cable was fitted. I had taken the Reg Number of a Employee that said the Council were not paying for repairs. Which was untrue. All Local Authority / Public Place Chargers should be covered by CCTV, have good lighting etc. Huge facilities like Stirling Park & Ride could have Coin op / Auto Door / Self Cleaning Toilets. (People will pay £1 rather than going off to the bushes.) No need for attendants here. There are Local Authority Buildings & the Council HQ with Caretakers / Concierges and staff around. Well lit and covered by CCTV. Some of the Employees dump / park their vehicles anyplace, leave them blocking chargers for days or weeks. Now i just send an e-Mail to the Roads Convener and copy in other Councillors, it seems to have got the message through finally. They are introducing a fee to charge soon which is OK as long as facilities improve.

@EnterName e-Volt / SWARCO staff like to go on about vandalism . There was that around Aberdeen & Banffshire with Cream Eggs in Chargers and chargers off for weeks. My local new hub had a fault with chargers newly fitted. The Unlock showed but you could not get the charger head from the unit. Some yanked them, i reported faults, they said no issue, but one day a user yanked one and broke the head off. 3 months down. Before that place was open last years the door was broken on the single Rapid Charger for Months. They said vandals, i say the lock had broken. Edinburgh maybe a yanked charger head, more likely run over. Often AC ones are run over as they fall out the chargers onto the road. I have never seen theft of anything at charger points, or broken glass from cars broken into. I see broken glass at plenty long stay car parks.

Best grip on the back certainly helps when there is drive to the rear, but then you still need grip at the front. Rear grip when doing a Scandinavian Flick with a FWD car / automatic FWD car really can just be the difference between Oooo & Ahhhhh. I can do something with good grip at the front if the back end comes around but can do next to nout if i have just a front end sliding along the road.

Personally i would not change a 2019 TSI for a EV unless there are reasons to like Business Use, Low Emission Zone driving etc or you need to be changing cars. Buying as a 2nd car is a different thing. I was thinking of getting a bigger EV with more range and only having one vehicle that would suit my needs, MPV or Estate required that can have a tow bar. Now i have changed my mind and do not think i might even get another EV when my car from Motability goes back in 2 years. In Scotland the EV Charging will need to improve greatly in 2 years. That is not just more chargers but the proper maintenance of the public use ones there are. Even ones you pay at can be out of order and you get no reply on the phone from CPS or even the Shell / BP setup. Thank goodness there are InstaVolt chargers about. Between Thursday and Sunday i reported 5 CPS operated chargers that were out of order by the Fault Site. That was because the Call Centre was not working. 2 of those have been out of order for weeks. Only the Edinburgh Park & Ride charger has been Flagged on ZapMap & PlugShare are out of order, the others have not been, but then i find many people never report faults to the provider or even log in and out of chargers on ZapMap / PlugShare to assist other users in knowing if they are working or might have issues.

Car won't drive or rev past 2000 rmp
The first 30 mins of a Diagnostic is £60 according to Skoda Fixed Price Service & Maintenance. THEY SHOULD DO THAT FREE SINCE THEY JUST SERVICED IT, THEY NEED TO CHECK THE CONNECTIONS. They might want £100 plus VAT. They might be fair, be sure to ask, but a MCU might well not be required when a Tech sees the car and you talk with one of those. So best get talking with Automatic Gearbox Specialists that will diagnose the fault and not just get in a new MCU at a ridiculous cost and hourly rate to fix / install. (They will only change MCU's, not use refurbished / repaired or the kit for the Accumulator.) They might even have someplace else do the job as Parks Hamilton did with @Sittingbull (They got in a new MCU, messed up fitting and needed a 2nd and wanted him to pay for both.) His was a 2012 CAVE Engine but with the DQ200 that was not part of the Service Campaign. Flashing Spanner cars. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444617-7sp-dq200-dsg-failure They can have all the gear and still little ideas or qualifications / experience. 2018 the cost was £1,750 for Diagnostic & a new MCU fitted. ............................................................ It needs someone that fixes DQ200 DSG's, so they can maybe get reconditioned Mechatronic Control Units's, or not change ones that are not the fault. They need the software so you want a place that do DQ200's. Know what they are actually doing. ??? Does your car have a sticker in the boot showing that '34F7' was carried out since early 2014. The Synthetic Oil changed to mineral and a Software Update. Should have date done and a dealers stamp? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/483018-gearbox-issue

Octavia Scout 68-reg 181PS engine idle speed too fast?
@rcgliderpilot #'Memories!' Did your 60 plate 1.4TSI 180ps Twincharger DQ200 7 Speed twin dry clutch Twin Charger not start with 1,100 rpm and after 40 seconds dropped to 800 rpm. when in P, N or put into D but the RPM went to over 950 rpm if you selected S ? (Very different from a Euro 6 on 2.0 TDI with or without SCR with a 6 speed wet clutch DSG.) The TDI will still do regens regardless of running it on Premium Diesel. If not noticeable to you then so much the better, if it is not doing regens expect future issues. eg. Top pic. A 2010 1.4 TSI Twincharger. One of the first in the UK as a media car. Next 2 2016 2.0 TDI 150ps SCR / DSG, SEAT Alhambrah. 4th pic. Mk3 Skoda Superb. What might be expected as you get if you do a few days of just short runs with cold starts as the car gets older. It might start with just a wee blast or run about of 8 mies to clear it and over time that ends up taking more or more miles needed to clear it. Running Premium Diesel will not stop that happening.

Fabia MK2 with single wiper?
But it is amazeballs. so Simply Clever for £12. Not that clever if you actually drive cars on dirty roads or in snow. Especially good for those that had faulty rear wiper motors, or washers that did not squirt, or where people pinch rear wiper blades or just break them. All were things that people posted about.

Sad that the style over function stuff is not so common on here these days. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/312964-de-badged-and-de-wipered

Fabia MK2 with single wiper?
@UrbanPanzer I am making the point by the medium of dance that people get sucked into the crap that they see online or just on others cars. They are road cars, and the sales stuff says 'Rally Cars', no mention of track but that will be the motorsport. I would like a classic rally car with 3 wipers. I never understand the De-Wipering the rear on a Fabia.

Polestar Precept UK Roadshow
The front number plate will need glued on with strong stuff and hopefully Arnold Clark dealerships do not put the rear one on squint.

Fabia MK2 with single wiper?
@LukeG99 Was the wiper in a different position of one that normally has 2, or was it a case that one had fallen off? Eg Customised or needing fixed!

Car won't drive or rev past 2000 rmp
There is your starter for 10. So need to check fault codes. You need to check closely the airbox connection, then breathers, and the O rings on the Turbo Pipe to check. Those plugs will need looked at, but strange there are no warning lights. Not sure on the DSG being the issue as in the limiter.

Car won't drive or rev past 2000 rmp
Unusual that there was no EPC light or Engine Management light. When there are too many misfires logged in a cycle the Turbo can be disabled, or 2 cyclinders can be shut down. When the Supercharger Magnetic Clutch in the Water Pump goes you can usually still drive the car and get more than 2,000 rpm. (The Exhaust Emissions light comes on.) So basically being a twincharger you are going to see what has happened and why the ECU is trying to save the engine from being wrecked. Supercharger comes in at 800 rpm, and Supercharge & Turbo 2,400-3,500 rpm and then just Turbo. ? Has anything been done to the car recently, any changes, plugs changed BOV fitted or anything? EDIT. I did the North Coast 500 with no Supercharger. It did more than 2,000 rpm but i kept to around 60 mph max for near 1,000 miles. It did great MPG.

Delivery lead-time
Back when VW cancelled / suspended orders for the Golf GTE they said it was because the waiting list had gone over 6 months, which they had but then they did discontinue building them before 6 months had past. Happened in 2016, and again in 2018. http://autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/orders-suspended-volkswagen-golf-gte The truth with Skoda ordering and build dates is they are back to the 'Black hole' system and really they have no certainty would the future holds for them not only with chips but with the supply of batteries. They want cars still to be ordered it looks like and people to just wait as other manufacturers are in a no better state than them.

Air box extra filter
@dijitSorry no idea with what it is on your car as i have not seen one, but i would put it back as when the car was built they knew it's destination was the UK and not Siberia. If your car was running fine before then good and i can not imaging your new mod will improve your car fuel efficiency or increase it's performance.

@nta16I am much younger than @TerFar but still started driving in older cars built about the same time as i was born, so when thinking about it they were only about 15 or 16 years old at that time.
