  1. @ZapperthesnapperWelcome to the forum. Best that you go and look at other Yeti and feel the seats in them as there might well be differences from what was specced new and how they have been used and by what weight of drivers. Are you after a particular Yeti engine / gearbox / drivetrain / trim level? ? What height and weight are you?
  2. 'Which' gets responses from the kind of people that respond to 'Which'. The Yeti was good, the Superb was and is good. They get good marks from Yeti & Superb drivers might fall into that group that respond to Which. Warranty Claims past the Manufacturers Warranty tells a bit of a tale, but then there is the kind that have Warranties because they think the vehicle they are buying needs an extended warranty, and they might or might not need to claim on it. Warranty / Insurers of vehicles know what is what by how much they ask for a policy on a cars possibility of failing. This have not changed much since 2013.
  3. Almost every year someone posts the Results of Reliability Studies from the 2 big surveys. This is maybe the biggest Skoda Forum. I posted several years asking which members had taken part in the Surveys. Silence was the reply other than from a handful of members. It all needs taken with a pinch of salt, like results from MG Owners. Maybe there are too many MG Sales staff with time on their hands. Go into a Skoda Dealership and they are all very very busy, maybe dealing with Customer Enquiries and After Sales Service, maybe biging up Skoda with Which / AutoExpress Driver Power. Skoda UK might like to publish the results of the Surveys that Customers return to them that they got from having visited a Dealership. Forget this is in the Daily Fail, & they want a dig at the Germans, it was published elsewhere. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2542797/Germans.html
  4. My 66 plate 2.0TDI SCR / DSG SEAT Alhambra leased from Motability never got it's first oil & filter change til 20,000 miles because the dealer could not get it in sooner. Just as well it was using oil as it was like clotted cream even though it was topped up with a good few litres in the year. It was lumpy and very black oil before the Oil & Filter change. It stopped using oil from then on and stayed just like it should until the next service & after.
  5. Skoda is a low volume car manufacturer. They made a big song and dance about 'Supplying globally over 1 million vehicles in a year' 2 years back. All Skoda models sold / first registered in the UK in a year is just a bit more than just what Ford first register in Fiestas. Skoda would do a lot better as would Dealerships if there was less time taken up at Dealerships with Warranty work. Dealerships would do a lot better doing better PDI's and being less sloppy. Skoda would do lots better if they were the best Car Builders in the Czech Republic with better quality control and putting longer warranties on their vehicles. EDIT, they are managing year on year to get more churned out even during a world wide pandemic, they just need to get the reliability improved and not punt them early if not fully fit for purpose just because VW want them to. The Enyaq needs to be properly built and if there are snagging issues they need dealt with properly. VW are not doing that with their ID.3's. Or with Skoda Citigo iV's.
  6. If a Software Update required because Skoda / VW Group have not had their Franchised Dealership / Agents doing the job correctly or the Factory has not then Skoda UK could pay for a Trained & Qualified Technician to travel to you. Or they can fairly recompense you for your expenses because of the incompetence of others. Their only worry should be that your hourly rate is greater than that that Customers pay for the hourly rate to have work done at Dealerships. Skoda / VW released vehicles not Fit for Purpose so that they had them First Registered & aiding them in achieving the Average C02 g/km required to save them paying the millions in penalties. Good for the goose is good for the gander. They need to pay for being chancers.
  7. Maybe no longer 'Friday cars', but when you get a 'Lemon' that came off the production line and got through Quality Control then, Skoda / VW or whoever know which shift that car was produced on and with which parts from which source. That means that Skoda / VW Group can very easily look at the pattern of the 'Lemons', they can know which might require 'Recall Action's or Service Campaigns, or TPI's covering them. The thing is that Skoda are not telling, and even with the likes of the Zinc Inclusion they had, or Euro 5 TSI failings. They wait until they have to act, and even then it takes a Country that can rip them a new one and make the penalties high before acting. Do not Expect the Motoring press to be saying much as people have seen recently with Honest John and 'Software or Hardware' failings from some 2020/2021 vehicles. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/484705-kphmph http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493264-how-many-are-rejecting-or-are-in-the-process-of-rejecting http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493692-accept-or-reject
  8. Neither the news presenters i have seen or Lord Chancellor Robert Buckland MP has been clear when speaking about this that it applies to England & Wales. BBC says what it is and for where. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-57302790
  9. Welcome. If it was Engine oil trailed then you need to find out from where it is exiting the engine, and be sure it is not gearbox / diff oil.
  10. @FlyingGeckoJust a small point. & OT. The British Isles are still in Europe, the customs declaration is not required if sending from England to Wales or Scotland. Northern Ireland might be different. Then the EU we are getting familiar with.
  11. I am interested just how cold cold has to be for those with this happening in Australia, the Scottish Borders or Northern England, or anyplace. I just get in cars with a DSG after defrosting them and select 'D' and go. That can be at temps below -10*oC, wet or dry clutch ones. The engines need to get the Coolant and Oil up to efficient temp but otherwise the car / van is up to 30-60mph without 'Hesitation, repetition or deviation'. Doh, wrong game show!
  12. They have to go sometime, they can not be shot until they are shot. MOT testers might put something as an advisory but they can not fail stuff that is not a fail. People get upset at that.
  13. @Paul52 I never posted about me having a different feel. The EV is the fun car, just like driving a Kart @ a Karting Track or a Dodgem. Press the pedal and go, and go far and do not pay about £6 for every 45 miles or so driven. EV's have pretty good brakes, there is just not much need to be using them other than to do the likes of an emergency stop. One of the few things that got serviced, other than the pollen filter being changed.
  14. @jonbenj since you looked and could not see anything and no advisory came up at the MOT you best have a new set of eyes check to see if it is brakes as in pads or caliper bolts, suspension or steering items like bushes, or anything really. Have the brakes had any sort of servicing recently or ever?
  15. The alarm siren has it,s own battery. This can eventually need replacing. Skoda sometimes show that as a 5th year Service item but obviously they can last twice that or more.
  16. Best that you get the car in ASAP to be checked by a mechanic who can get the car on a ramp. Not at a Tyre & Exhaust Centre. Many things could be the cause.
  17. @caromac Where or by who did the service get done? As in who's workshop. Is the Pollen / Cabin Filter listed as being replaced?
  18. Birmingham CAZ from tomorrow & exemptions. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-44551122 http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-56993952 .

You can fit a roof basket / tray to the bars and the bag goes on that. Picture from a members Project thread. You get bigger trays or baskets.
  20. Was it 'ServicingStop' ?
  21. Welcome to the forum. ? How much was the full bill? ? Were you not asked if you wanted that. The Low Ash oil will be the VW504 00 / 507 00 that they had to use, and this was not at any extra expense. The Flush and treatment was them at it. They took the Michael. Recommended by the Manager, Boss or Dealer Principal as up-selling to help them earn money. This would be a Skoda Main Dealer Service @ 2 years and maybe also the Pollen Filter replaced. They might try to Up-sell a AC Service and say it is Recommended.
  22. Guest_ replied to pragmatix's topic in Skoda Karoq
@FortyXRoq Not a Karoq, a 2.0 TDI DSG SEAT Alhambra using 'Coasting'.
  23. @Ecomatt They all use the same oil so you might expect all DQ250 to be like that when and where it is properly cold but they are not.
  24. Guest_ replied to Jokkmokk's topic in Skoda Yeti
Well the aerodynamics will be what they are depending on how you fill it and how bluff the frontal area is so that is down to you.
