Maybe paranoia on my part - 1.5 TSi clutch judder?
He needs to see if there is a software update available and then if there is decide if he wants to have it.

DSG noise
Sadly no. But then the age matters. 2009-2012 had some as part of service campaign 34F7,. Then 2013-2015 was 34H5 and as software update for some. Then 2014/15 are covered in a TPI for some. Slipping clutches. There are updated clutches. Then really from Euro 6 on it is only time that will tell with any 1.5TSI and 1.6tdi with DQ200,s. Fingers crossed and get an extended warranty is 'simply clever':. VW are resolving it soon by have the ,e-dq200 and with mild hybrids. Vorsprung Dutch technik. Just keep turning them out and of only 5% have issues then tough.

DSG noise
@Skatyif you intend having the car from over 3 years old until maybe 10 years then once the manufacturer's warranty is out you can purchase a Skoda VW warranty and just be sure that covers the DSG if it worries you. Leave it well alone, keep other people's hands away from it. For any thinking of 'All in service and warranty plans' there is a new thread in the General Automotive chat.

First oil and filter change
That was great advice from them. 9,400 mile or each year is what you need as the Oil change interval with VW502 00 / 5w 40 fs as it is not Long Life Oil. The first Twinchargers 2009-2010 were not given a code for variable / flexible service intervals. (There are plenty CTHE like yours using 5w 30 FS III with no issues. But using 5w 40 FS and changing oil and filter annually is a good thing IMO.) Castrol is not bad, it is just not special. the 5w 40 FS Castrol is often reduced in B&M or other discount stores, that is worth getting if much cheapness. Quantum / Fuchs is what most Main Dealers use, i use the oil from Comma or ASDA, Tesco or anyone selling it at a good price. A forum sponsor. Maybe paranoia on my part - 1.5 TSi clutch judder?
@PetrolDave Maybe some stuff reverts back to the OEM factory settings when Software Updates are done, but with the Kangeroo affect that the 1.5 TSI's had they are not running the Engine Management / MAP that the cars that went through the WLTP / RDE did, because that is where the issues were. The cars were mapped to meet the emissions they required but could behave like crap. There are more than one software update since 2018. The latest cars should not have the pathetic Engine Management so poor behaviour but sadly some are reporting that they are. There are posts where people say it was only with the manuals, well that is not correct, as there were issues with DSG's as well, just not as noticeable to some, or in some cases just not a problem. Skoda / VW know which cars built when and where have the possible issues.

First oil and filter change
@Nealgingerlovegod Welcome to the forum. Do you mean a Skoda Dealership Employee said use Castrol 4w 40 FS ? (Thank goodness there is someone paying attention.) Skoda the manufacturer actually recommend Castrol 5w 30 FS III which is long life oil for fixed or variable servicing. (That is VW 504 00 / 507 00) I recommend 5w 40 FS which is perfect for Twinchargers on Fixed Service Intervals. Skoda show VW502 00 so 5w 40 FS for Fixed Service intervals. It is a pity they ever changed that & some Dealership said they did not use that. I do not recommend Castrol though, any 5w 40 FS to VW 502 00 is what you need. A dealer does not usually change ignition coil unless they need replacing and the OEM plugs were marked VW but were NGK's. Bosch are fine, or DENSO. You might well require a bit more than 3.6 litres of oil when replacing after an oil and filter change to have the oil at Area A of the dipstick with the oil at operating temp and parked on the flat after a few minutes. Cold dipped the oil should be above the cross hatch and on the flat bit.

All-in from Skoda - 2 year service package
40,000 miles or 4 years, so the 2nd major service has been the Manufacturers Recommendation for years with Skoda / VW Group for replacing the spark plugs. It appears that that is still the case. Skoda do not call it a Schedule so that when you get a car with a FMDSH it does not mean Recommended items might have been done, even Service Plan serviced vehicles might not be serviced to The Manufacturers recommendations because this is not 'Scheduled Servicing' or a requirement, just 'recommendations'. (There was a problem Euro 5 engine, the 1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136kw twincharger and it could destroy one spark plug within 20,000 miles, and VW Group changed the OEM plug type & that included the gap and still it could happen yet VW Group never changed the Recommended replacement advice, or issued a TPI to inspect the plugs before before 40,000 miles. This resulted in a few hundred or even thousands of these engines in Fabia, Polo, Ibiza & A1's in the UK and other vehicles globally, but that is the VW way!.)

DSG noise
Welcome to the forum. Enjoy the car. Most scare stories / posts you read will be by me. But, The chance of issues with the DQ200 DSG & a 1.0tsi is very very low. It is a very good combination. Do not let any Dealership Employees tell you the DSG needs servicing.

Bonneville Octavia
Is it Supercharged as said, or as in the first vid in the Class that can be Turbo or Supercharged? Skoda took it for the Briskoda Fabia Mk2 meet at Santa Pod. The S2000 'Show car' had a 1.2 3 cylinder diesel engine in it. @2mins 21, why mention Supercharged again 'quickly' ?

ALG and Lane Assist
The Manufacturers Warranty is 3 years, if a Warranty replaced part fails then it is covered to the end the Manufacturers Warranty. If replaced now then that is as long as it is covered to. 3 years from the cars First Registration in the UK.

Skoda tyre pressure monitor
I was commenting on Renault ones that the OP mentioned. Really i do not know what they currently cost. If VW Group ones are 'Much cheapness' that that is fantastic. As it is anyone getting individual tyre pressure warnings should really check each tyres pressure before just going with the one that is throwing a warning. It is good even when no warning that the pressures are checked and not just via the dash.

All-in from Skoda - 2 year service package
If it is actually 'All In.' And servicing done to the Manufacturers Recommendations in those 2 years. Skoda Servicing is now 'Oil & Inspection services' annually & 'Extended Scope' each 3 years with Skoda Servicing & Maintenance fixed price at Participating dealerships for cars 3-10 years old. Brake fluid change is at 3 years then each 2 as Recommended by Skoda. So does the Major service or the minor include that without you having to pay £60? The Pollen filter is each 2 year, is that included in one of the services. Skoda Dealerships say AC services are recommended each 2 years, is that included. The Air Filter & Spark Plugs might fall due at one of those services, they will not be included, so if you want done you might well be paying extra. Haldex servicing falls each 3 years, that will not be included if you happen to have haldex and due @ 3 years old, or 6 years old. If your DSG if you have one is to be serviced @ 40,000 miles. That is an Extra expense.

If like the Renault system then it is expensive when sensors go wrong and need replaced.

Maybe paranoia on my part - 1.5 TSi clutch judder?
@gm73Best check and see if there is a software update for your particular car, there might well be a Recall Action / Service campaign which you will not hear about unless the car is in at a Main Dealers, maybe not even then unless you are logging concerns with a Dealership. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions If there is one it will not necessarily show up here.

Buying and selling an Octavia with least loss of value
If they are selling as FMDSH or FSH you want to know what the history is as Full Main Dealer Service History does not automatically mean that the Servicing was to the Manufacturers Guidelines. They do not use the term 'Schedule' because what a Private owner could be told is 'required' might not be done on Company / Fleet cars. Things like the Brake Fluid changed at 3 years, Heldex not serviced when it should be or how it should be for a long life.

Fabia Vrs remap
? Is it a one previous keeper car, so that the person that sold it to you knows the history and knows for sure it is on a factory map? ? What has the DSG had done to it, clutches, MCU or both? ? Have you been looking at members Project Builds of Mk2 vRS in the Fabia section to see what they have done? Best get whatever record is on the Skoda system for the first 3 years or more if there is a Service & Warranty history as a start. I would have it on a dyno and seeing what it produces power wise before starting to tune it.

EA888 Gen 3 GPF compatibility across engine variants
I think the whole issue of GPF's is still something to be dealt with as people gain the knowledge. Getting the part numbers will be a start and see what is what and what is fitted to what.

Fabia Vrs remap
Many have remapped some of the 1,800 or so CAVE cars in the UK. Some with no issues, and some that had, and a REVO remap for a twinchrger was crap. Actually there were Remaps that were better than the factory software and the engines did OK from that. Remember that more than 20% CAVE vRS in the UK have had rebuilt or replaced engines and even some replaced engines were replaced as they failed. So be sure all is good with your engine and DSG now, and do you know if the car still has the original engine fitted, or has a rebuilt one or a replacement, and does it have any upgrades like the 'Oil spray jets', also are you sure it has not been remapped already?

Tyre pressure with 17"s
Fortunately 205/45 R 17 do rather nicely as do 215/40 R 17. You can compare some makes next to the likes of Pirelli Zero Nero in 205/40 R 17 which Skods fitted to cars that owners complained were pulling left and the circumference is no greater than the wider or supposedly taller sidewall tyres. Skoda fitted 205/40R 17's to Mk2 vRS Hatch & Estates & to Monte Carlo Mk2's but VW, SEAT & Audi fitted 215/40R17 to the Polo GTI, Cupra Ibiza & A1 195 ps and even to some 1.2 / 1.6TDI versions of the sister cars. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/395420-tyre-upgrade-from-2054017

Tyre pressure with 17"s
Only you will know when you have the smooth ride. On a Hatch i usually went for 33psi front and rears with light loads in summer with 205/40R 17's, 215/40R 17's or 205/45 R17, then if i wanted a bit more grip i might drop the front a couple of psi. Why not put in 35psi front and rear and front first drop the pressure, then try dropping the rear and go on until happy. The tyre will make a difference, so are you running or fitting XL's. (Stronger sidewalls) ?

OK, just a thought. I was thinking more of if you were taking a trip across anytime. Bikes are in demand and i am sitting with about 5 i no longer ride and and 4 Electrics i do.
